I'm on the flight path several miles away and sure didn't notice many passing overhead. Surprised, because it was such a clear sky. We never attended, but we used to park on the highway median strip nearby.

So that's where you are in PA. That makes 3 of us porchers in the area. Yiddle is way on the other side of Reading.

Didn't they used to call those BCGs?

I know what a BFG is ... but what's BCG?

I remember all too well.

Yep, same here!
A pencil was SO much faster!
Then, there was the condition where you accidentally stretch the tape, but not enough to break it. The song would slow down in that spot, and you learned to like it that way.:thumb:

Thank you for your kind words, you all really know how to uplift others here on the porches.
Julie's short term memory loss seems about the same. At times it can be really bad, she sometimes forgets the first half of a sentence before I can complete the sentence. At other times you would never know she had any issues at all. Thing is I never know which Julie I'm talking to until I get some response from her. Her cognisance can change minute by minute on really bad days.
At least with the Zoloft I get less arguments from her that I said something I didn't say and she is doing much better with unnecessarily stressing over the inconsequential.

I took care of my mother when she had Alzheimer's and it was unnerving when she would remember something I'd forgotten. The brain is an awesome thing, especially the memory part. I just tried to be as flexible as possible and go with the flow, but it was a minute by minute exercise in patience. Support groups are very helpful. Check with your doctor's office. Please don't forget to take care of yourself.

Wow, thank you for sharing that. Sounds like a wonderful celebration.

This event happens the first weekend in June every year. it's gotten quite large. Something like 30k people attend over 3 days. People show up in period clothing and there's a swing dance after dinner on Sat night. Impersonators are there of the military and entertainment personalities and reenactors act out battles, including a demonstration of a flamethrower. And that's all in addition to the restored aircraft and the air show. It's like stepping back in time. Pretty amazing.

I bought a Sony reel-to-reel deck with every last bit of about a year's worth of paper route money around 1965. Then I bought this little plastic splicing kit that came with splicing tape... it challenged my manual dexterity then and still would today... I'd try really hard but would end up with splices that fell apart.

@bigbells do they have an ISC in Jersey City. Just can't figure my package out. Went straight from Frankfurt to Jersey City then it just says on way to destination. That was on the 29th. Nothing after that. Figure they have to feed the mules more or they put it on a train. All my others have said arrived at ISC then departed ISC not this one.

I had to look it up to make sure... not only do I forget stuff, but things change. It's a combination International and Bulk Mail center. The USPS got tired of some countries charging too little for first class mail, which made the amount they turned over to the USPS too small, so the USPS started treating some incoming International Mail as parcel post. Or, I should say that's what was going on when I retired 6 years ago.

Warning: vape-related from this point onward! I got a Yihi SX Mini Q Class and I totally love it. Extremely comfortable to me; battery life is fantastic; so far I've only used it in power mode and it delivers power SO smoothly, as good or better than a Provari. I prefer it without using the silicone sleeve. The newest SX Mini, the G Class, is the one that has the power button on the broad side, which I don't like... otherwise, I might have gotten one of the G Class instead.

Just west of Oklahoma City is Fort Reno. At Halloween, they have folks that will stand next to the graves of soldiers in period uniforms. They will tell the history of the soldier and story of their death.
