Patrick.....have had you on my mind, and all the advice that Janet and others have given you is sound.....please listen and heed their advice.......only your best interests are at heart!!!
Yep, I spoke to the nurse today and she said sounds good to her. She said the nursing staff is really doing nothing for me besides bring me medicine. So basically I'm just laying in bed here with my 2 physical therapy sessions a day. I can do that from home. They will get the home PT set up and as far as meds thats no problem. I have plenty of Perrier there and lots to eat that I like. It will be 1 month by Monday and I'm considerably better then when I first came here. I have everything that is needed as far as medical stuff, not my first rodeo and we kept it all. Ginny is on her way to drop off some food. They keep bugging you for your tray starting about 15min after the drop it off. I've told them several times it takes me at least 1 hour to eat if not more. So all they are doing is emptying my urinal and handing me a few things. I mean this is a good place but not needed anymore Ginny has a belt to help me up, got a wheel chair, 3 walkers including a hemi walker which is what I need at first, power chair, ramps, hospital bed in living room, so I have everything needed already in place. Ginny won't have to do near as much as before. I only stayed in rehab for a week on eachh of those. A friend came over and fixed the ramp up so Ginny can wheel me in from garage. Well She is going to change my brief glad its her and not me. I was supposed to get a shower on Thur she had to do something else and then forgot me yesterday so have to wait till Monday.Patrick, you should have gotten some paperwork explaining your patient bill of rights. It should have listed on there who you can talk to. You can also ask your nurse about who you can talk to about what your options are as far as your continued treatment. There are phone numbers listed on your insurance cards although I'd suspect you might be on the phone quite some time so make sure your cell phone is plugged in. That being said, please be sure that you will honestly be able to handle being home without a nurse nearby. Yes, Ginny was able to handle things when you needed it before, but that was then and this is now. An option could be to have a visiting nurse to check on you at home and help with bathing etc. and physical therapists can come to your house to help with your pt. See what's available in your area and what makes sense for you.
Don't worry about it Nermal I only worried about it for 15 min.Dang, Patrick, I really feel bad about having mentioned that without being absolutely sure of the facts.

When you talk to the Dr tell them what your short term needs are at home. Tell them about Ginny condition & that she can't do it all. Ginny should be there or on your cell phone on speaker when you talk to the Dr. So she can make decisions for what she can do. She can't take on too much. There are resources available thru your insurance & social services that can help you guys through this safely. More than PT & OT. But you have to speak up. Insurance will cover someone to come in twice a week to help you with hygiene. All you have to do is talk to the Dr, who will put it in motion.Yep, I spoke to the nurse today and she said sounds good to her. Well she doesn't have to do too much really. I need a little help standing then I can pivot by myself. Sit on commode or wheelchair. I know I can get the PT in home. I mean all I am doing here is laying in bed and on weekdays 2 pt sessions of 45min each. I seem to be getting stronger each day. They really aren't doing much for me here now. They were in the beginning but now its just bring food empty urinal, help me stand a little. I know at home I will gain weight and do more then here. Today I'm just stuck in bed watching tv. All the aids are doing is handing me things bringing coffee and meals. Seems like a waste to me. I'll gain weight at home too. They will set up pt before I go.When you talk to the Dr tell them what your short term needs are at home. Tell them about Ginny condition & that she can't do it all. I just ordered brussels sprouts seed for my garden. They are better fresh, and the fresher, the better.Got it! Recycled Brussel sprouts, which should never considered food, in the first place.
Good! How about Ginny? Can she handle everything else?Well she doesn't have to do too much really. I need a little help standing then I can pivot by myself. Sit on commode or wheelchair. Wisdom right there!Legs I've stayed out of this convo mostly but I consider 10.5 hours per week and fairly regular hospital stays (love those ambulance rides) for my dead kidneys to be my current and forever job. I don't like it, I'll never recover from it and I don't get two weeks paid vacation in Aruba or even more than 8oz of any beverage I choose per day. Nobody else is going to fill my slot so I might as well do the job.
Your aide team, has a job. It's just a job. They don't cook the food you don't like but they do have to serve it. Your doctors and nurses have a job. It's just a job. They don't like to cause you pain but they spent a lot of time in a hospital learning how to alleviate the leftover pain they can't fix because some fat, sweaty, ignorant politician in DC knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy who can get some of the "good stuff" for his ""BFF"" in exchange for the pictures. It's just a job. Currently you have a TWO NEW JOBS . Your first new job is to become well and functioning. You do this by following directions from doctors and nurses. Your second new job is to help Ginny during her journey. Your job DOES NOT include making decisions for her, apprising her of how she feels or making suggestions to her doctors and nurses based on how the outcomes affect you. And.........................I'm out again.

Humpf!I just ordered brussels sprouts seed for my garden. They are better fresh, and the fresher, the better.
Yep they are going to have me set up with home health care and therapy. I'm out of here tomorrow for sure. Man I am ready, 1 month in here is enough. Dang I was doing a stand and pivot from my wheelchair to my bed and somehow I hit the 1 really slippery spot on the floor and started turning around and she got me back to the chair but in the process I used my left arm which has a 1 lb weight limit on it, I tweeked it and dang does it ever hurt now. Got another 45 min to pain pills so I have ice on it which does help. I have to be so careful about it and it just is so natural to use it, it's almost impossible not to use it but I usually catch myself. I got busted with my Orion night before last so I sent it home with Ginny for one day got it back now. It was a stupid mistake. We have a new nurse on night shift and he is kind of an ahole. He saw it and said what is that, I said I'll send it home with my wife which I did. I didn't specify a time limit. I think he has tonight off, or at least I hope. This little Orion is the slickest little mod for stealth or for throwing in your pocket to go somewhere close. I didn't think I would like it but with some high nic juice mine is 30mg it works slick. I have no idea how many tanks I have run through it so far but still working great. I've got 4 more pods at home. So will have it set up for occaional vaping but will also be nice to get back to my regulars. I have a friend going to come over and put an handrail on the stairs on the right side also which I'm going to need. Well talk later. Can you tell I'm excited to get out of here? When you talk to the Dr tell them what your short term needs are at home. Tell them about Ginny condition & that she can't do it all.
