Hi!
Yupper, that's a nice ride right there. Congrats on holding on to her! My wife's first car was a '73 or '74 Dart Swinger 318 (she can't seem to narrow it down much more than that  ) I offered to replace it for her but she doesn't want it if it's not the exact one! I'm sure it's been dead and gone for YEARS!!! (Hmmmm, maybe I could get her to compromise on a '70 'Cuda Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!!!)

 Von
Sounds like you and/or your wife is a Mopar fan, I like that!

As long as he doesn't get in the garden, it won't get personal!
If he does, it'll be a lead biscuit dinner for him!!!

Well, some yes and some no. But that's true of most manufacturers. As a little kid, my dad was a body man and built quite a few one offs of all types. One of the cars he did was a '67 New Yorker convertible that had rear ended someone and he picked the car up cheap. He mated a '67 Chrysler 300 front clip to it, removed all of the New Yorker badging and no one could figure out where he got a 300 with all of the New Yorker luxuries. That got sold and mom ended up with a showroom fresh '68 Charger RT 440. Smoking tires from every stop sign & light! When us kids would exclaim, "MOM!!!" she'd smile and say, "There was a car coming. I had to get out of their way!" A bad influence on my future driving style, ABSOLUTELY. Fun factor and GREAT memories, PRICELESS!!!

Your mom sounds like she was pretty cool, driving an old Charger as it was intended to be driven. :D

Well, I'd better sign off for now N get some sleep. See y'all in the funny papers! *gone*

1st car was a 72 Cuda, 440, 6 pack and a 3 speed slapstick. Only had it for a month and dad and the judge made me sell it. Long story. It was followed by a 69 Toyota Corolla stationwagen. Most of the time that's what I say was my first car. After all only having it for 30 days or so is more like renting. Kept the Toyota for about 5 years. :)

1st car was a 72 Cuda

My favorite car was a 74 Gold Duster (snake skin 3/4 vinyl roof, custom bucket seats and craggar mags all around) - just a plain old slant 6 in it - couldn't kill that engine - well you could, but it took quite a beating to do it - I put 274k on mine before it locked up one day... Got my money's worth out of that car... :)

Good afternoon everybody. I missed morning. Slept in knowing for the next three days I'll be babysitting grandchildren while Mama goes to visit Oma in hospice in GA. I'm glad to be able to do it for her, but need your prayers to get through it. I've had them for a day and overnight, but never three in a row.

Your granddaughter is the cutest little girl! Good thing they're so sweet because they sure can run you ragged!! I'll be sending you peaceful, patient, loving vibes till you get through the next 3 days!!

LOL! I find that amusing (the thread not a particular post)because my wife and I just got back from her 3yr post colon cancer colonoscopy! That has a lot to do with why I haven't been online as much the last few years, I used to be pretty active on ecf but we had a bit of a medical adventure that kept us occupied for awhile. She is doing well now and her scope was perfect.

So glad to hear the scope went well. My sister had colon cancer too and just barely missed having to have a colostomy. It's been almost 20 years now with no further problems. Wishing the same for your wife.

Glad you got a lil OT, was worried maybe your wife had had a rough time. Glad that wasn't the case.......now don't make me come chase you down again Mister!! hehehe

awwwwwwwwwww ;)

newp.......dats a owl silly boy!! looks like it might be a barred owl, but need to see more of it's face to be sure. I used to share a house with some friends who were also Indian and the woman had one in the house. He was NOT a friendly owl

hmmm it worked last night, or actually early thirty this am.......not sure what's up. Seems like if the sale had ended last night it would have done so at midnight

Ok...........Kay just called me........... it was too funny, I was on the phone with Cheyenne and I heard the call waiting beep, thought it was my son, and the call about Kay was more important at the time, so I didn't flip over. Got off the phone and saw two cell phone MI calls, couldn't figure out for a minute why it was showing twice that Cheyenne called and not who had beeped in.......then I realized the numbers were different. Kay had beeped in while I was talking to Chey!!!

Kay said she hadn't talked to her Dr yet, so per Cheyenne, I was able to tell Kay that her surgery had gone wonderfully!!! Yay!!! She said she'd had total peace that it would right from the git go! They doped her up in the little room while she was waiting to go into the OR, and she went to sleep, didn't wake up again til she was in her room..........she made them show her the site to be sure she'd had the surgery!!

Of course, she's been flirting with all the male nurses. No surprise there. We had to get off the phone cuz two women had come in the room.....she said she had to go cuz they were hovering over her........I said uh-oh........she said......nawwww....I can take em!!! lol Jup she's in great spirits, and they're giving her plenty of pain meds!! Was gonna remind her not to let the pain get bad.......but she already had that in mind.........so that's great!! She said she'd call me again later tonite if she feels like it. And she thanks everyone for their prayers, as does Cheyenne. Chey really asked folks to keep her in prayers also. She's young, and is so close to her "Nana" this has really rattled Chey's cage!!! Ok, now gonna go read the other two pages I need to catch up

Thanks of the update and am happy to hear she made out ok. Hopefully she'll be like the other people I've talked to who said they don't know why they waited so long!

Also did a "fly over" of quite a few glaciers. They looked pretty healthy to me.
Then there was the alpine glacier that receded, and revealed an iron age mine that had been covered by ice, complete with tools and packed lunches

I remember doing that in grade school. Anyone else?

duck-and-cover-100413736-primary.idge.jpg

i grew up a mile or two away from the "Blue cube" which was deemed in the early 60's as the Soviets' first strike target. It was even mentioned in the newspaper and on the local news that we were most likely to be hit first. Yay! So proud!

i remember being maybe 10 years old, huddling under my desk like this, raging internally "what the h is the point???" The sad thing is that even at such a young age, the horror of nuclear war was well-known.

perhaps Bigbells would appreciate a quasi-legal drone fly-by before it was torn down
