Guess what I got that has nothing to do with vaping?

Very pretty!! And now you can see better, too! ;)

LMBO!!

Where I live in Florida, the dogs supply the beach. Especially when Geordi goes out to the dog yard, plays in his kiddie pool, digs a hole in the sand, rolls in the sand, then comes into the house. I have to put him on a sit stay so I can sweep the sand off the floors cuz he likes to attack the broom (of course I am guilty of egging him on when a cute little puppy - big dog, sit, stay! At least he does sit and stay!). Sometimes it is a definite pile of sand!

SEE?!!? If ya just put sand about 4" deep all through the house, then it wouldn't be a problem! ;)

Of course I haven't caught up yet. I'm about 130 messages behind and it'll probably be a lot more before I get caught up.
I got the front air conditioner in the motorhome fixed today. Turned out it was a lot easier than it could have been. The problem was the fan motor was frozen. I had opened it up to troubleshoot about a year ago and it was frozen solid. I squirted a little fluid film on the bearing area before i closed it up and proceeded to ignore it for a year. Got up on the roof this morning (before it got waaayyyy too hot) and opened it up. Damn if the fan didn't turn freely. Fluid Film is a wonderful lubricant. Went down and flipped a few switches so the front a/c was powered up instead of the back one. Flipped the on/off switch and it started right up. Man it's nice to have one of the major jobs off my "to do" list. If it cools off just a little I'll get to troubleshooting the generator. I am pretty sure it's the control board but, am not even close to sure. One thing I am not is a "parts changer." Especially not when the control board is $350.
Anybody knows anyone that wants a nice motorhome, I got one for sale, $13,000. NADA says somewhere between $15,000 and $17,500. :)
Ok, see you all in a while. Kaz, keeping you in my prayers. 2legs, enjoy your trip and don't let the ahole get you down. Love you all.

Happy to hear that you're making progress, Matt! :D Hopefully the generator will turn out to be a quick and easy (and inexpensive!) fix as well. Fingers crossed, Brother. And thank you for keeping us in mind when you have your conversations with the Lord. Very much appreciated! you too, Brother.

Hey Y'all. WAY behind, as usual. Nothing good or interesting to say........Just hello.

"Nothing good or interesting to say"? Just saying hi and letting us know that you're doing well is DEFINITELY a GOOD thing to say, Hon! Very happy to hear that you're able to take all of your time off, and hoping that this hitch goes smoothly for you.

Well I have finally landed on the back porch! I have been on ECF as a stalker (mostly) since 2012, I recently retired and now have some time on my hands for more than just stalking, although stalking is time consuming. So HOWDY Y'ALL!

Welcome to da Porches, Jack! Now that you're retired, I'm pretty sure that many here will find a way to help you dip deep into that retirement savings. ;)

ok, I forgot already, what was it that I said sounded good?? hehehe Yanno it stinks....... 4 hrs just aint that far at all......til ya don't have a car. Would be so wonderful if some of us Tx folks could get together, even for a weekend.
They won't get me fixed up, there's nothing they can do to fix......just manage. They're going to try some steroid shots in the spaces behind/between the vertebrae this time and see if that helps some. I'll give it a shot. They did put me back on Vicodin and changed the muscle relaxer, so we'll see what that helps at all.

Strongbow Honey Apple Cider... definitely pour it into a glass, over ice (instead of just drinking it out of the bottle). And, we'll figure out a way to get together at some point. Right now, I pretty much stick to home, work, and the doctor's office. At some point, I'm hoping that I'll be able to find time to get out a bit and meet some people... whenever that happens, I'll definitely find my way over to see ya!

Well, that's better than just layin' around in pain. I can't ever seem to find a good muscle relaxer that works. Whenever my back acts up, they usually just give me a prescription for Vicodin, and then give me a 'coctail' shot at the office. Muscle relaxer, pain killer, anti-inflammatory all rolled into one. About three days later, I am usually back to normal. Hopefully the muscle relaxer they gave you this time works better and you can be more comfortable.

Works for me!! No more sweepin.......just rake it once in awhile!

Exactly!!! :D:D:D

Oh! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Must feel great to finally be a quarter century old, huh? ;)

Hey @Debadoo ! Good to see you back. So, you're gonna make me talk, are ya? [emoji14]

I should be sleeping right now since I go back to work tomorrow, but can't sleep for nothing under the sun. Oh well, I'll get there when I get there.

I haven't gotten much rest during my time off. There's always chit going on around here that I have to take care of. And, yes, I have been taking my full time off.

My brother is doing just fine. I had to get my BIL over her to change a bulb for me. It wasn't that I couldn't change the bulb. It was not being able to get the light cover off. I just KNEW I was going to break it, so the boys came over, laughed their butts off at me, and changed the bulb. They wouldn't let me put the cover back on. :D

My fur babies are doing fine and spoiled rotten.

I actually made some home made hash browns this morning. I had been craving some, so I made some.

I don't feel like going back to work. :-x
Glad you are taking your full time off & getting things done! But, yeah, that going back to work thing. Especially with the drive on both ends of it.

Ooooh. Parts changers? Got lots of thoze hear. Pickup check engine lite on for those who don't remember.
3 trips to the local parts changers. $1600 of butchering later... traded it in on a van.

Some problems are worth paying dealership service prices for. The problem is that you don't know until you let someone else flounder around on it that you should have just bit the bullet. ;)

I agree. But local parts changers here get $75 an hour. After 3 shot's I wasn't about to put more into a 13 year old truck from a dealer. Even tho it only had 80k miles and was in pretty good shape. But I got $1500 on a trade.

Good morning porchers. Just checking in from Colorado Springs. So good to be here with Katie and Brian. Golly geez what a thrill to put my hands on my baby girls belly and feel her baby. I guess my baby is all 'growd' up now.

I was only away from the porch a day and it was a lot to catch up on. I'll try to keep up now that we're settled in.

MT ... you best listen to all the advice ... Or you could be hosting the next Odyssey al la 'intervention convention'.

And Happy birthday Deb.

Morning everybody! Just a fly by to say hi. Daughter still hasn't gone into labor
Waiting.gif

Meanwhile we're putzing around and just enjoying each others company. Weather her certainly beats back home. Heard it was going to 97 and very humid. Yuck!

Pat, glad to hear you decided to stay put and head our tomorrow. No good purpose to exhausting yourself.

Kenna, the new glasses look great!

MamaTried, lots of good advice here. Make sure you take it!!

Kay, maybe you should talk to the doc about your moods. No need to suffer if you don't have to.

Roto, sorry you're down. Maybe if you go back to work you could try lighting up the beach again!

I'm sure I've forgotten some things I wanted to say, but after skimming 12 pages this is all I could remember this morning. You all are in my thoughts and prayers always.

I-17 up through Sedona DOES get a little twisty and narrow. You made the right choice. ;)
You want to see twisty and turny? Try US29 going down to Cherokee, NC in the Smokey Mountains. I drove down that twisty, narrow, hairpin curved SOB in a 33 ft Class A motorhome with busted bushings on the stabilizer bar. Made it no problem but my wife had to pry her fingers from the armrest at the bottom. NAPA delivered new bushings to the KOA campgound and if fixed it right there. Great vacation.
We ran out of booze (bourbon) while we were there and I ask the Indian (Cherokee believe it ot not :w00t:) where we could find a liquor store. He told me that Cherokee County was a dry county. Ask him why do you think. His reply...
"Son, don't you know that nobody loves a drunken indian?!"

@clnire, good luck with the show! Get someone to videotape Geordi, if you can. And, be careful! Muah!

@Myrany, isn't A/C grand? I'm glad it's back up and running.

@Semiretired, thanks for telling me about your friend. I'm thinking I can probably handle going forward. Backwards, not so much! :)

@Von Vape, Dunno whether Airstreams have back up cameras. That would be pretty cool, though.
Most trailers don't come with them but, as with anything, you can get one added. :)

I'm glad your daughter is getting after you as well.....and I've already told you....one a day is not enough....you don't want a high blood sugar spike anymore than a low blood sugar reading. Diet is a big part of it...you know that, but....so is taking the meds properly to keep things on a more even level. Give that daughter a big hug from me....not necessary to tell her why....she'll like getting an extra hug..... :)
As a fellow diabetic I have to agree with m y good friend Yiddle. Take you meds as directed. Metformin has to be taken twice a day. It metabolises such that in order to maintain the correct blood serum levels you have to take it every 12 hours (approximately). If you don't need as much say do to diet and such your doc will prescribe a lower dose. Still two a day. I'm taking a 500mg every twelve.
Speaking of diabetes and A1C. Mine is dropping back down. Down to a 7 and heading back toward 5 as it should be. Dennis, take your meds and let the doc worry about the dosage. Also if your not on insulin ask doc about Victoza, it works great for me.

That would be perfect! Everything is already set up and running... just step in and take over the business. :)
Granted it all looks on the up and up however I am reminded of what my daddy always said... if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Bet there is a catch we don't know about.
