I was thinking of getting a tattoo.

My first choice is:

But, then I thought maybe:
ohmResistance.png

Not as pretty and spiritual. But, I love the multiple meanings. Plus, my daughter, Melinda, says she'll get a matching alpha to go with it.
Seeing as I'm greek and a vaper I'd go with the omega.

Like it or not, my stocking up needs to be over. My oldest daughter, Rachel, is getting married in or near Boston on October 22nd. So, I need to save about $500 to make the trip (airfare, hotel, etc.). That's a LOT of money.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it. But, I probably will because I really, really, really want to be there. My daughter moved to Europe in March of 2009. I haven't seen her or her daughter, Star, in person since that time. Seven and a half years is a long time to not see a daughter and granddaughter!

They're planning on going back to Scotland after the wedding. So, who knows how long until I see them again! (if ever  )

ETA: Thanks to Google HOs, it doesn't seem nearly as long as it's actually been!

ETA again: But, nothing can replace an actual physical hug!
I hope you can make it. Grab the chance while you can because you are so right…nothing replaces an actual hug! Sometimes your kid goes away and never comes back. EVER :(.

Well back from the VA they told me today that there was something going around, I don't know if it was at the VA or what that gave you a sore throat and made you feel generally crappy. So that's what I had. Got some good news my hemoglobin was up from 9.8 to 10.5 so he was happy about that so was I. Now if it will just keep going up that will be good. I go back in 2 weeks and they do a complete set of labs and I will know how I am responding to the treatment. So tomorrow I have to go in and get my hearing aids adjusted plus I had a tooth in my upper denture come out and luckily I didn't swallow it so I have to go to a denture place and pay them 50 bucks to glue it back in. I've had them glue this one in once before about 4 months ago by the same person maybe I'll try a different place. I need to get a new set I've had these about 18 years. So tomorrow is another day.

That's good news. Better to have a bug that you know will go away soon than thinking you'll be stuck feeling like this for 10 weeks. That's great that your iron is up too! As for the teeth, maybe that one falling out is trying to tell you something. After 18 years it might be time for new ones. How long are dentures supposed to last anyway?

Good point.

BTW, Amazon issued credit for the missing items. Um... didn't ask for credit. Asked for the products. But they gave me credit so I can buy other things they won't ship?
Buh bye.
Been dealin with em for decades and never a problem. No idea what'z goin on with them.

I've been using them for years and have always had exceptionally good service from them. We got a very expensive cutting board for our daughter once that started to split in 2 months. No problem, they replaced it with no need to mail the split one back. Last week I got a "No Solicitors" sign that turned out to be a decal. My fault, should have read the description better, but figured for over $9 it would have had a solid backing like the one my SIL just got. No problem, gave me a credit, no need to return it. I have returned things in the past, (I hate returning stuff!) but it was so easy. I'd imagine that with all the business they do there is bound to be a mix-up somewhere. And a shipping problem could be due to the carrier. Maybe you'd have better luck with a drone!

I'm not familiar with that first one. What does it mean? And where on your body are you going to get it?

Exactly! When they first left for Europe, I had given notice for the day off weeks ahead of time. But, we had some special event at work and they scheduled me to work anyway. Can you imagine, my boss was actually surprised when I called in sick! For possibly the last time I ever say my daughter and granddaughter? Come on. Don't be stupid! Getting fired pales in comparison!

Dentures are definitely NOT supposed to last 18 years. Let's see. I've had mine since about the time Rachel was born in 1981, 35 years. Wow, that's over half my life, 3 1/2 decades!
I'm not familiar with that first one. What does it mean? And where on your body are you going to get it?
The first one is Sanskrit for Om, like for meditation. The sound that's supposed to encompass all sounds.

Where on my body hasn't been decided. But, wherever it is, my daughter will get her Alpha in the same place.

Yikes! That is a long time not to see them in person. We get to see Katie 2 or 3 times a year and that's too long between visits. Sure wishing the $'s come together for you to make the trip.

I've ordered recently with no problem.

Actually only been the last few weeks the problem started. Real time tracking doesn't exist anymore. Just shipped and on it's way.

That's not one of the meanings I had in mind!

Totally agree with you. And phone service is excellent too. I've had to calll them a few times and the deal is you give your phone number and "choose" call back. They call within less than 1 minute!

Mail the cookies...being within arms reach & earshot is a bad idea! [emoji1] [emoji8]

 I ain't skeered! I'd hug ya anyway... I've gotten used to approaching angry women with steroids in their systems. ;)

Just dis AM, watched da first episode. Think I'll wait 'til da last two are recorded before viewing. If you're like me, I suggest binge viewing. And yes, terrific story!

LB, great to have ya back!

Kaez, great to have your 'back'! Still pumpin' prayers out...

Thank ya, Sir! We're still in the processing phase, but have an appointment on Tuesday next week to meet with the clinical trial folks. We're going to hold off on making any firm decisions until we have as much information as we can gather. My Bride is really good about that... she's a lot smarter than I. ;)

Well you ever try to take a nap in the afternoon, but your mind wanders so much you can't test. Well it happens to me a lot. It goes something like this:

Laid down and thought about Little Bird checking in and how good it was.
That led me to wondering about Bells - no vids for a couple of days.
That led me to thinking about drones.
Which led me to thinking about the guy who uses drones with his ghouls for Halloween scare tactics.
Which led me to thinking about scary movies with ghouls, vampires, bugs, dinosaurs and such.
Which led me to thinking about a giant spider that was so big he ate a T-Rex as a snack.
Just then the spider looked at me and I jumped awake and decided an afternoon cup of coffee was a better idea.....

LOL!! Thanks for that, Semi... now I'm probably gonna have nightmares about giant spiders tonight!

ARRGGHHHhhh.... and NOW that song is stuck in my head!:lol::lol:

Well, she came back about 2am, don't know yet the situation, but I am sure it will end up with more inconvenience for me.

I reached out to her and offered to help her deal with the emotional problems she is having, but she is trying to push everyone away and not wanting help, her mother is at her wits end, and I am just trying to be an anchor point for everyone, hard to do when you are just hanging on yourself.

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

I wish that I had something to offer here, Russell... unfortunately, law enforcement frowns upon tying family members up in the basement and forcing them to talk and listen until they work out their issues. :(

Seriously though, I can completely understand and relate to your statement of trying to be an anchor point when you're just barely hangin on, yourself. It is more difficult to do than most people realize, and it doesn't seem to get any better with time. Things just keep piling on, and we keep trudging along... because that's all we know to do in the situation. You're a good man, Russ. While I can't match Iffy's sentiment, I do keep you in my thoughts and prayers with fervent hope that things get better for you soon. :)

@Kaezziel, how did you know what this Yankee had for supper last night?!?!?!?

I crushed white cheddar cheezits, dredged slices in seasoned flour, dunked in egg, smothered with the cracker crumbs and pan fried in butter an oil. Not bad fer a hoozier ;)

I'm sending hugs and prayers to the folks on the BP who are struggling with life's lack of fairness. I pray you all peace of mind, body, and spirit.

C'mon, Sister... How did I know? HA! You know that I never reveal my sources... :sneaky: Your fish sounds awesome! Mine were pre-breaded and cooked from frozen. :( Now... did ya drown them in Malt Vinegar (a la: Bell's favorite condiment? ;) )? I did, and it was delicious!

Glad that you finally got some good news, Legs!! YAAAYYYYY!!! Keeping prayers going for more good news in 2 weeks!
