this I have wanted for a long time!! Sometimes we've found out what happened to someone, sometimes they'd just disappeared and we've never known. I have phone #'s for a lotta folks, as many of us do. But would also be nice to have a family contact in case we can't get hold of someone.
It's a good idea for you all who have been together a long time and have become good friends, especially for those of you who live alone and have no other family.

I worried for a long time about several people in this situation in another forum with which I've been involved for a long time and we've all become friends over the years. A while back one person opened a FB page for the group because they worried the forum would be closed some day and they wouldnt be able to get in touch with one another. Two different members of the group admin the page in case something happens to one of them. Everybody listed a phone number and a close relative to contact (if they have one which many dont). It's a closed group so no one can access it.

Once a week we all chat on that FB which is a lot of fun but also if someone wont be there they're supposed to let another person know so we dont worry something happened.

:lol::lol:

I tried to introduce a "No spiders allowed" bill on the back porch some time ago but even after a anti-arachnid fueled filibuster on my part I wasn't successful. So, in the spirit of "If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em" I submit the following:

Creepy lookin' little critter, isn't he?

So I guess it will creep you out if I told you I used to keep a tarantula in an aquarium on my desk when I worked at a zoo years ago.

Thanks for the howdy's, all. Am I the only southern gal who fries green tomatoes in flour instead of cornmeal?

Sorry for all those struggling, I can't read back 300 pages so please forgive my not knowing all the particulars.

Is this logistics thing something they ship a lotta stuff through? Didn't you say you were having these things shipped to the states, or did I misunderstand?
Seems like an amazon "wave of the future". More and more shipping this way. All these missing orders originated in Pittsburgh and were headed to Niagara falls NY. (I rarely order anything on line in Canada. Just too expensive)

No kiddin! I've had a few talks with him about his sneakiness at times. One part He says He'll ever put on me more than I can bear.......then he sneaks in....... But you can bear ALL things through ME.

:) Fortunately, it appears that He has made me stronger than even I realize most of the time. ;)

Mike had put up a link to some that he said were amazing. I'd showed em to my son, but he didn't get em. Now I have no idea where I saved the link, but I'm sure @MikeE3 knows it.

I'm sure that I can find something online... but if Mike wants to pipe in with a link, I sure wouldn't turn it down!

no kiddin! He didn't feel too danged good by the time I got done with him I was seeing red when I walked out........ but was later told that most everyone in the office (30-40 peeplez) were sitting there with their mouths hangin open. But to borrow Iffy's expression, being an azzhat wuz somethin most had come to expect from him. Some folks are just angry bitter people. It's a shame, but ya can't do much with most of em.

I bet! But I was thinkin' more about stickin' him in the trunk of his own car, driving him out to some remote location, and showing him what really feels bad. :sneaky:

We've had a lot of Amazon orders be delivered by Amazon Ninjas in white cars lately... I know that they drive white cars, because one of their ninjas wasn't particularly ninja-y, and I caught her backing out of the driveway. ;)

maybe. I do use part flour part cornmeal, but gotta have the cornmeal in there. I do that with most things. I think a little flour makes it still very crisp, but not hard crunchy.

thanks. I'll mention this to my SIL to be aware of, she orders tons of stuff from Amazon.

I quit a job over them not letting me know if my vacation was approved or not when I'd put in for it way in advance when my son graduated basic. He was leaving for a year to CA for language training, then 4 months of other training, and no way to know if he'd have any time at home before being deployed. Did the same thing with another one when the director had just told me that he still hadn't heard from the head office. My dad was dying, and I needed to get to Houston. After a meeting in his office, my team mgr came and told me she'd seen the letter open on his desk saying it was approved. I yelled at him in front of everyone, told him exactly what I thought of him, and where he could stick his job and stormed out. Then my car wouldn't start  Don't git between me and those I love! Neither one was a great job, but it really wouldn't have mattered. I knew my dad was going to die while I was there. She later told me he felt awful when he found out my dad had died while I was there.

I'd have done more than that. I'd have taken it to the Labor Board.

I agree we need to know what is happening with people. I have been in contact with Dave (VonVape) and everything is fine up there. He should be checking in in the next few day. Mike and Janet know my # and my wife has theirs. Dave said they are concerned about Kim Jung Dumbfu_ almost having a missile developed to reach Alaska in 30-40min. Damn that's all we need. Then theres Trump who says he will give the Generals 30 days to come up with a plan to wipeout Isis. Jacob my GSIL is stuck there till March so hoping hes out before that.

awwwwww thanks sweetie! You even did that maths for me....... luv ya!!!

hehehe it's right up there for sure, but may or may not have had some that have been longer in the past

hehehe but that's a good habit! I am just trying to help matt out. Instead of him fretting over not being caught up.......all he has to do is search for one or two of my posts, and he'll know most everything that's happened here since his last visit! [emoji38] Plus I'm conserving posts so we don't have to move so often.

    Oh....that is sooooo kewl!
But they are reeeeeally hard to reply to! [emoji12] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

no proof on the 2nd one, just her say so. All he had to do was say he'd opened it but not read it. First one, couldn't even find out who was supposed to know. I went in an hour early that day, if my vacay had been approved, I'd have clocked in and worked since vacay should have started the next day. If not, I wuz leavin. My team leader (who had also just come in and quit) and I for an hour ran around trying to find out who would know, each person passed it off to someone else. No excuse for that sort of thing to happen. They were both crappy jobs, but we all know a paycheck is a paycheck

    Dave (VonVape)
not his first name........but don't think he really wants his first name used a lot. But saying Dave, folks might confuse him with bells, so prolly better to just go with Von. ;)

you mean folks actually read em???? Sorry. But just highlight and quote whatever section you wanna reply to. Some folks have fussed with those who did a lotta multiquotes, others have fussed with folks who didn't do multiquotes but made a zillion posts. I took a poll long while back and the majority ruled in favor of even large multiquotes. lol
