If you go to a craft store they have some small kits so you could try it. You might be surprised at how good it would turn out. Just make sure it's not something that you can see the reverse side!! Making that look decent takes practice!

Now you're just trying to mess with my OCD. :p I'm gonna be more worried about making the backside look decent than I am making sure the front side looks right!

3mng, Lovely lace and beautifully presentation!

Scott (Sterno) got bounced around the other day by a 5. sumpthin quake near OKC. He was at the epicenter, but his whole apt was shaking. He'd just bought a new TV recently and it was weeble wobblin real bad.
Up here we call anything under a 6 "massage". :D ;)
The "earthquake" in N. Korea was "artificial" and very near their nuclear missile facility. The yield of the blast was estimated at 70 to 80% of the Hiroshima bomb.

Doin' alright, man. My Mama and my MawMaw both taught me how to sew, iron, make biscuits... basic stuff. Got me to understand that it was an important skill for a young man to know. Later on, I sewed all of my own patches on my military uniforms and can still mend things that aren't bad enough to toss out. ;)
Glad ya'all are doing good! Ya, I can sew too , just not the cross stitch and needle point and knitting schtuff. As long as I can patch things up (or "patch" things) , that's good enough for me. ;) :)

Now THAT's impressive, U.W.!!!

Especially if you consider it's me .. ;) .. I'm kidding, of course, if I attempted that, I would end up in the ER and need to be unfolded by the Experts .. ;)

Kim Jong Un / N. Korea is perhaps the greatest threat against the World At Large that gets the least attention in this Political Cycle ..

Kaepernick? Ya he's got the right. It's still WRONG! I've heard that he is actually fairly philanthropic and that's wonderful. Perhaps he could do it on his own dime instead of on the team and fan's.
Is anyone in any way inconvenienced or suffering any financial loss when Kaepernick does not stand for the National Anthem?

Kaepernick is a 2nd or 3rd string performer for an entertainment ensemble in San Francisco.

Meanwhile, people are getting upset at Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers starting QB) flossing his teeth while on the sidelines of a game.

If it ain't one thing, it's another.

It is, though, impossible to believe that those who would like to see Kaepernick exiled are actually concerned about the health of his career.

I figure we are all using this Kaepernick non-story as a convenient surrogate for politics; a way to avoid talking about the current Presidential candidates.

Oh ya, also like workin' with lethah too. :)

I've done a little leather work. Not something that I'm very good at, but it was functional. That is yet another thing I'd like to learn. How to tan it and how to work with it...

I miss old hippy. She and I used to talk about that on occasion. I have tanned hides but it's been a long time ago. Brain tanning makes incredibly soft pliable leather. I made a pair of Boot moccasins when I wuz a teenager, from some gorgeous bluish gray leather I had gotten. I didn't fringe the top, cuz I don't really care for that look, and I had planned on beading the cuff, but never got around to it. Kinda glad now, because they were so moldy after the hurricane they were not savable. Broke my heart.

I've never tanned anything. Dad did, he tanned a few deer hides, but I was younger and wasn't interested in learning stuff at the time. ;) Sorry that ya lost your moccasins. :( It really hurts to lose something that you've worked on and cherished.

Just thought it was ironic that brain tanning came into the picture and loved Gary's response. Now Kazz chimes in with the pickled thing and I can't stop laughing!!!
The natives do say that each animal has enough brain to tan it's own hide and that is the fact.

Now, on this N. Korea thing, trust me, we'll be the first to know! They've already named JBER (joint base Elmendorf/Richardson - Anchorage) as their first strike target!

I could probably do the stretching and scraping, no problem. No clue on what else needs doin', though. LOL... there's probably a youtube video on it, though...:lol::lol:

I'd say "Stay safe", but I don't think there's much you can do about that one, Brother... other than get the hell outta Dodge. Still prayin' that things don't get to that point, though!
