The battery in my car is from July 2010, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the battery is getting long in the tooth.

The engine compartment is remarkably clean-looking for a vehicle with so many miles. I've pretty much made up my mind, since the car is so comfortable to me and rides so decently, to invest in it in the near term rather than buy something new. My goal is to get it to the point where I've got a very high degree of confidence that it could take me on a leisurely and long cross-country trip or two.

Lol! I get notifications on my phone for most of the threads I watch. Going thru them & swiping to clear the 'like's. I get down to one & it's Kazziel liking something I posted. Swipe, it's gone, then it's back! Swipe it again, it's gone, nope! Back again! After about 4 I realized Kazz is catching up on our stuff from the weekend & liking posts he's read & these are all separate posts, not one coming back over & over! I must have been chatty!

Yesterday was steroid hump day. I actually slept last night h feel human today. Thought I could risk a Walgreens & PO Box run without risk of being ugly to someone. Had flavoring vapemail! Did so well I rewardedyself with a Whataburger for lunch. Now I'm sleepy. & in nap mode.

I've probably overstayed my welcome..........

See Ya's Soon
 V V

NOT possible!! Just sayin'...

I was going to drop in but my infusion yesterday was a real bummer. I got there & they had scheduled me for an office visit as well as the infusion, which I was not prepared for in my budgeting. The news threw me into an immediate panic attack & I couldn't even think whether or not I could pay it. So I paid for the infusion h told them Ivd pay for the office visit later since they hadn't made the scheduling clear. Infusion was ready for me at oncen so there wasn't time to fill out the paperwork they always want for the office visit. I got my pre-infusion meds which knock me out. The RN trying to get me stuck for the infusion, & the nurse wants the paperwork for the office visit, & because my writing hand is busy getting stuck three times I still can't fill it out. I'd walked in the door less than 10 minutes before. So the nurse sits down h starts asking me the questions on the paperwork. I'm fighting a panic attack & couldn't get it together enough to answer her. She finally left. Then the bloodwork vampire shows up, & wants me to come to the lab for her to stick me. She leaves, & the PA comes in h shevs ready to do the office visit exam. I still don't have a tube in a vein for the infusion. This is all in the first 10 minutes. They see what's going on, they see I can't get to them yetn but I had 4 people pulling me in different directions for the first 10 minutes I was there. I was there for 4 1/2 hours. They knew that & could have waited. Top that off with a steroid cocktail.
When I left, my head was spinning, I was groggy from the pre-infusion meds, h on a steroid high. I sat in the car with the ac blowing on me, & chain vaped with deep breathing. I'd been in a panic attack for +4 hours. I got it together, cleared my head, looked at my hands on the steering wheel, & they were full of nice fat veins that had not been there before, even though I knew I was hydrated enough. I ran my errandsn thinking about how that could be. Came home & did some research h guess what causes your circulation to choke off? Anxiety! It shuts down breathibg, bloodflow, & some brain function. Itvs the fight or flight thing. Your body shuts off everything except what you need to flee or fight whatever the perceived threat is. No wonder they can never find a vein.

Ugh... sounds like that visit went about as badly as it possibly could have. :( I'm grateful that it is over and that you figured out what was the root cause of the problems getting the infusion started. Hopefully now, they'll pay a bit more attention and things can go a bit more smoothly for you.

Nope! Get a pattern, the cloth, the threads, the needles. Fold your cloth in half & in half again the other way. Pinch the corner where they all come together. That marks the center of your cloth. The pattern should have a cross in that spot. Start in the middle & work your way out to the edges. No knotsd. Leave a 1inch tail on the underside of the cloth when you first start, then as you stich along just cover it with your stiches. From that point you just start new thread changes by running you needle along under the stiches just before the new one you want to start. That buries that thread end & holds it in place. No tight stiches. It makes little gaps where the x's meet.

Believe it or not, all of that actually made sense in my head! :D:D:D

Nah, nobody will see the back if you're going to frame it. You gotta learn the front first. That'll be enough for your OCD to worry about.

I think you are seriously underestimating the level of my OCD when it comes to stuff like this!:lol:

The back side has to be right or the front side will look lumpy, or come undone.

Yep... see? This is what I'm worried about. I'm too picky for my own good! :p

I rarely come round back, these days. Too much to keep up with, and then I get frustrated with myself. Still, I went back 12 pages, as I've missed the BP-ers:)

@Janet H, I'm so wanting news on baby Huck! How is he? When do all y'all get to see him again? How about his mom? How's Miles doing?

@MattB101, slow and steady. Miss you, too!

@Uncle Willie, there was a wonderful 3 hour radio program on 9/11 on POTUS (Sirius XM), last Friday. The host, Michael somebodyorother, has been interviewing key figures since 2001. He played excerpts from many of those interviews, along with some that he'd only recently recorded. Perhaps the broadcast is available online.

@Kenna, you are remarkable! I'm so happy to know that you're coming through this round relatively unscathed.

@bigbells, I can just picture it: Dave's Excellent Adventure! Where will you go? Or, will you just go wherever the spirit moves you?

@3mg Meniere, Good news that your son is doing better! You worry about him so... BTW, are you still loving your new home?

@clnire, Terbs love lobstah. Just sayin' :D
Good for Geordi (and Mom) for the CGC! Our little guys would fail miserably!

@Kim B., Belated congrats! Pretty new cloud toy! :)

I doubt your OCD is as bad as you think. My neighbor has OCD - he used a 6ft level on his yard. When he edges his yard he carries a pair of hand snips in his back pocket. When he washes his car he changes the water every time he rinsed the sponge. He dries his car and buffs out every water spot.

Freelance is my style, meticulous planning is not. Have Drone Will Travel! I do enjoy Las Vegas, so the meandering trip may well include that as a turn-around point.

What does "edges his yard" mean? If I ever heard of such a thing, it was so long ago that I've forgotten. :thumb:

So it's level in 6' increments. Mention that to him. I dare ya!

Then doing it will be a breeze! You should take Wifey to the Houston International Quilt Festival at the GRB. I haven't been able to go since 2009, but I went every year for about 17 years before that. I lost my Festival partner & haven't been since. I can't walk far enough to get in to the spot where they hold rented scooters or wheelchairs for you. You have to call in advance & reserve one. It's a dazzeling show, & fabric & crafty things everywhere!

OCD makes for great needlework, or handcrafting. Details, details, details!

Yep... see? This is what I'm worried about. I'm too picky for my own good! [emoji14]

See above.

Hahahahahaha!! Sorry, Darlin'... I had a LOT of catchin' up to do! [emoji23]

No Jenna- he is actually very sensitive about all of it. I made a mistake once in how I worded a question to him and he all but broke down.

In his work he is considered top in his field and quite brialliant.
Ooooohhhh, then say nothing!

Actually, you could make a football field perfectly level with nothing but a 6' level. I'm sure the OCD guy was aware that he needed to overlap 6' sections.

The easier way would be to use a laser level, or level string lines.

When I say easier, I mean still way too ridiculously difficult! But, when pipe-dreaming about building a tennis court, level is good!
