But is he fulfilled? I only ask in dat my yard is near da bottom of my 'care list'. Humankind is the only species dat expends so much effort on a near worthless product!

Michael O'Leary was waiting at the bus stop with his friend, Paddy Maguire, when a lorry went by loaded up with rolls of turf.

O'Leary opined, 'I'm gonna do that when I win de lottery, Maguire.'

'What's that, Michael?' responds his mate.

'Send me lawn away to be cut,' concludes O'Leary.

Help! How do I get rid of McAffee permanently? It came installed on my fairly new laptop and pops up every day! And I can't get rid of it!!!

Never mind...I found my smart cap, put it on, tilted it slightly to the right so it'd look cool and did it myself!!

:w00t:

Glad it's gone, but it used to leave all kinds of .... stuff. And they used to have a utility on their site to completely remove it.

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

Then doing it will be a breeze! You should take Wifey to the Houston International Quilt Festival at the GRB. I haven't been able to go since 2009, but I went every year for about 17 years before that. I lost my Festival partner & haven't been since. I can't walk far enough to get in to the spot where they hold rented scooters or wheelchairs for you. You have to call in advance & reserve one. It's a dazzeling show, & fabric & crafty things everywhere!

I don't think I've ever been to the GRB for anything. I've been to Reliant Park, Minute Maid, Pasadena Fairgrounds, and a coupla other places, though. That does sound like a pretty cool event to go and check out, but I highly doubt that my Bride would fare any better than you, Sweetheart. We went to Walmart this past Saturday, and that pretty much wore her out for the rest of the weekend. She just doesn't have the energy levels to actually get out and enjoy anything like that any more. :(

OCD makes for great needlework, or handcrafting. Details, details, details!

That's probably why I procrastinate so much on a lot of projects that I really want to do. I LOVE woodworking, but it takes me 3X longer to get anything done because I hand sand everything down to a really fine grit. If anything doesn't look right, then I go back up two grit sizes and keep working it until I'm happy... it's beautiful when I'm done, but there is a lot of frustration between starting and finishing.

This is the twenty-first century. You're not still using cig-a-likes are you. Time to think about:

Yeah, but a true master craftsman will still resort to time honored procedures that's guaranteed to produce consistent results. ;)

LOL! I actually have one of those... I just use it for the rough sanding of things that I'm going to end up painting. If it's something that is going to get stain and varnish or whatever, then I usually go it by hand. Hell, I still use a hand saw and hand plane for a lot of things... and many times, I put things together without nails or screws. Just something about that "old world" style that appeals to me. ;)

And Gibbs will tell you that it is excellent relaxation therapy. I did some yesterday.

This fellow is looking to buy a saw to cut down some trees in his back yard. He goes to a chainsaw shop and asks about various chainsaws. The dealer tells him, "Look, I have a lot of models, but why don't you save yourself a lot of time and aggravation and get the top-of-the-line model. This chainsaw will cut a hundred cords of wood for you in one day."

So, the man takes the chainsaw home and begins working on the trees. After cutting for several hours and only cutting two cords, he decides to quit. He thinks there is something wrong with the chainsaw. "How can I cut for hours and only cut two cords?" the man asks himself. "I will begin first thing in the morning and cut all day," the man tells himself. So, the next morning the man gets up at 4 am in the morning and cuts and cuts, and cuts till nightfall, and still he only manages to cut five cords.

The man is convinced this is a bad saw. "The dealer told me it would cut one hundred cords of wood in a day, no problem. I will take this saw back to the dealer," the man says to himself.

The very next day the man brings the saw back to the dealer and explains the problem. The dealer, baffled by the man's claim, removes the chainsaw from the case. The dealer says, "Hmm, it looks fine."

Then the dealer starts the chainsaw, to which the man responds, "What's that noise?

I'm gonna have to get out of here a bit early today. Gotta take off in an hour and a half to take my Bride down to M.D. Anderson. We're meeting with the head of their clinical trial group to find out what else they can possibly offer her for treatment, since none of the traditional chemos seem to be working. Of course, we're doing our own research as well, but it certainly won't hurt to go find out what is available here. Any positive vibes and prayers that y'all can spare for us to get some good news today would be greatly appreciated!

You got 'em, Kaz!

Thank you, David. She is a bit stressed out, because she doesn't want to have to leave M.D. Anderson... but if they can't offer her anything better than a Phase I trial, then we may very well have to go elsewhere. We're waiting for some information to come back from Cancer Commons (Thank you, @LittleBird !! ) about other trials that are available for her particular case. There was quite a lengthy form to fill out about all of her specifics; they are a non-profit that gathers information about trials around the country and they can match people up with those trials. I'm not sure how long it will take to hear back from them, but we filled that in last night and will take that into account when we get the info. She's just really hoping that M.D. Anderson will be able to offer her something with a bit of promise because she has a lot of faith in that particular cancer center.

Done Kaez...

Thank you, Semi! Very much appreciated! :)

In some circles these are considered verboten. Swirl marks. I can just see Kaez trying to get them out...:cool:

Ack! Don't even get me started... Like I said, the only time I use those is if I'm going to be priming and painting... paint covers up a lot of that, so I don't feel so bad about little swirls then. But if it's going to be getting a dozen coats of antique wax, then yeah... hand sanded down to 1200 grit... at least.

Did the forum falter earlier - I was getting domain errors.

I've had no issues on my end... but I've been off and on...

Making a day of getting stuff done at the auto repair shop. Just hoping my mod battery has enough juice but feeling good about the work being done.

Glad to hear that everything is getting taken care of, Bells! Gonna be like a whole new ride! :D
