Greetings, all
a littlebirdrat mentioned that someone here or in the H/O inquired about me. not sure which, so you'll all have to endure my response. i haven't been on ECF or even in front of my computer much for the last month or so, and i was so far behind, i just skipped to the end to post this.
i'm recovering, slowly perhaps, from the surgery. i still have the vacuum wound device attached to my belly. a nurse shows up 3x/week to change the dressing and says the wound is getting smaller. i'm hoping for only a few more weeks.
a home health aide shows up periodically to bathe me, since i can't do that myself, really. (although, i'm thinking of trying to hire her permanently). the physical therapists no longer show up, since they taught me all their exercises. (yah, i know you doubt if i actually do them). an "occupational therapist" is supposed to show up some day to give me hints on how to take care of myself living alone.
as far as i know, all this is covered by medicare, or i will have a rude awakening.
i'm now able to walk a bit without relying on the walker. it comes and goes. i made it to my car to drive to the mailbox to pick up some meds that i'd run out of. that went well, but then i got spunky and tried to drive to a drive-thru to get a burger, which didn't end up all that well.
last night, after i took my meds (including the diabetic med i had run out of) i felt weak and dizzy and started sweating. (this happened while i was typing with Ms. Rat). this is often a sign of low blood sugar, so i took one of the glucose capsules that yiddle sent me months ago, and started feeling ok.
so, yiddle's gift keeps on giving. . . and the rat called me later to make sure i actually made it safely to bed. . .
it was a good night, in the end
bottom line is i guess i'm doing as well as can be expected. it may be a month or so before i can show up here much, however
cheers, and love to all,
Dennis
Don't think I've been this low in a long time, the step daughter has insisted that her abusive felon baby-daddy move in, and the wife said yes, proving she really doesn't care what I think or feel. And it turns out I can't sell furniture, so I am going back hat in hand to the carpet company.
Yay me
Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.
Only thing milk is good for is to mix with the Kahlúa.

Recommended I believe it was 5% but the cherry flavoring just was terrible to me. I have a Russian cherry that takes about that percentage but tastes like black cherry or maybe a pie cherry right off the tree. This was a fake cherry. What % did you use it at?

Well another VA appt today. I won't get my viral load for a few days it has to be sent to Seattle to be processed, but I'll see how my HGB is doing. They have a big lab there but certain tests have to be sent out for specialize equipment they don't have.
May I make a suggestion? Just slip off in the middle of the day. Leave no clues and say goodbye to noone. Move into a very small apartment and if they find you, don't allow the first one of those ingrates in the door.
Yep Russell I think you should Kick ... and don't Take Names. I know it's hard to do, I did it once. Rented a truck and had 5 friends come over and help me move my stuff out while the old lady wasn't home. I'd lived with this gal for 3 years or she lived with me and when I tried to kick her out she wouldn't go. She had some kind of a mental problem. So I called the landlord and told him my lease was up and I tried to get her out but she wouldn't go so he could do whatever he wanted with her. That's when I met Ginny and the rest is History. That's the ticket! You're a worth-while person...how dare they treat you less than that! They don't deserve you...and you don't deserve to be so horribly treated!
Haven't heard anything about prices that high, but some gas stations in NC went from $2.10 to $2.50 in between yesterday morning and yesterday afternoon. According to gasbuddy.com:
you'll be better off if you can get through NC without having to fill up. Prices in VA and SC are slightly less than in NC.
