Whew! I was quite a few pages behind on the Part V thread... then y'all went and started Part VI wif a vengeance! 11 pages! Sheesh!
Sorry, been kinda in-and-out last week. We had some high priority testing that needed to be done. Friday was a 7am-9pm day... at least we got a little bit of overtime! That's been pretty scarce for us for the past year or so. Hurts da ole paycheck... looks like this week will be a bit more "normal" though.

Thanks for the welcome Debadoo. My GF and I met in a chat room back in about 2001. We had a mutual friend (older lady who had dealt with arthritis most of her life) that we credit with bringing us close enough to become a couple. It hasn't always been easy being halfway across the country from each other, but we've made it last this long and I don't see it ending anytime soon. Guess you could say that it was meant to be. I've never felt the way that I do with her. Feel free to say "awww..."

Went to grab my camera and try to get pictures through a kitchen window of this visitor a few minutes ago. Nothing to really give a good size reference perspective; the bird is bigger than one might think, I'd estimate 18 to 24 inches from top of head to tip of tail feathers.

Greetings and salutations from SoCal .. yes ..
Over the years, I've had quite a few customers from The Land Down Under, AKA Oz .. in my initial discussions with them, my standard question had always been :: "Do you people really say "I'll slip an extra shrimp on the barbie for you .. ??" (used in order to break the ice and act like an American Caveman ..
) where I would invariably get a reply along the lines of "Yes, but we call them Prawns .. " .. Paul Hogan not with standing .. ..
Just for informational purposes, and since a couple have asked, I spent the better portion of my life as a Sound Engineer owning and running my own small studio, I did Sound Reinforcement on the Road and I did, and continue to do, instrument repair / restoration / customization, etc .. old info to some, and I certainly can't blame any New Threadster for not going back and reading, what 75K .. ?? in past Thread Info .. no, I take it back .. all New Threadsters should be required to go back and read each and every post and then sign an Affidavit to that Effect .. "I here by, Upon my Honor .. "
My sojourn in SoCal deals with my semi-valuable and slightly obsure skill at what we used to call analog equipment .. recording gear and what not from the 1960's and 1970's mainly .. there are not many of us left that have hands on, working knowledge of the gear, which can be somewhat quirky if it's sat unused for 20 or more years ..
So, today, let's Salute Australian Bands .. and slip an extra shrimp (prawn) on the barbie ..
