Learning to say no is pretty liberating. Although probably not encouraged in the military. Roto, you in the military? It's the choppers and such making me wonder.
Not particularly good news from my doc, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I have a good support system between friends and family. We are all just tiny blips in time/space, after all. And for now, things are ok.
Except I forgot to plug in my charger and am now puffing on a super tight cigalike. Bummer....
Sorry it wasn't as good as you'd hoped. But you just started vaping. Give it some time. Things change quickly!

The 3 AM report from here, a theme and variations.

I continue to use Kanger Subtanks exclusively as my delivery devices. I've given up, though, on the clone replacement parts from Fasttech that enabled top-filling. The convenience of top-filling was too inconvenient because of the amount of joose leakage that seemed unremediable. In addition, refilling required a syringe. In addition, the glass tanks were thinner glass that broke easily. I'd never broken any glass tank before, but two of the clone tanks cracked and broke from mishaps of the type that the OEM tanks have survived a great many times without damage. It's been wonderful to go back to the original equipment of my 2 Kanger Subtank Plus delivery devices.

Back when I got my first mod that was capable of Temperature Control (about a year ago, I think), I purchased a 5-pack of the Kanger Subtank 0.15 ohm Nickel 200 OCC coils. The first two of those coils failed within a short period of time. They quickly dropped below 0.10 ohms during use, at which time the mods I was using at the time would no longer fire them. In addition, prior to failure, the vapor was sparse and pretty poor anyway. I put the remaining 3 of those coils into storage and more or less forgot about them.

Just a few days ago, the Kanthal coil in one of my Subtanks was approaching the end of its useful life, and it was time for me to replace the wick and/or build a new coil. Then I remembered that I had never tried those 0.15 ohm pre-built coils with my current more capable mods, a Wismec Reuleaux RA200 and a Wismec Reuleaux DNA200. So, expecting very little but with nothing to lose, I put one of those coils in my Subtank. It is working marvelously at 390 degrees F in TC Nickel mode in both devices. Very smooth, tasty and quite voluminous. Yay!

Shifting gears, I had a very vivid dream about a month ago. Bear in mind that I'm a political junkie who gets wrapped up in the craziness of the current Presidential primaries. So, for what it's worth, here's what I dreamed:

I was playing golf with Donald Trump. The golf course was covered with a couple feet of snow that had a solid ice crust over the top. We were using bright pink golf balls to help with seeing them in the white conditions. We also had tees that were several feet long, which we'd drive down into the snow and then mount the golf ball on top, sort of like a combination of T-ball and golf. It was very difficult to swing the golf clubs and maintain footing, due to the ice.

Donald was outplaying me in every way and was bragging about his own skill while laughing at mine. However, he was getting really worked up with the effort he was putting into his shots and his face was getting increasingly red. It was nearing the end of the round, and we were teeing off on either the 17th or 18th hole, with the clubhouse in sight a couple hundred yards ahead of us in the blizzard conditions.

Donald wiffed on his tee shot and became redder in the face. When he swung again, he went under the ball and struck the tee, which didn't yield, sending a jolt through Donald. The ball didn't move from atop the tee. With total concentration, Donald swung again and hit a great drive but he collapsed to the ground. He wasn't dead but he was unconscious and headed towards death. For some reason I feared that I'd be blamed, so I dragged Donald to where his ball had landed and then headed to the clubhouse for help.

Trump died, and I didn't get blamed. Calling all Freuds!
Yaaaayyyyy!! Oh wait....it was just a dream. Damit.

Don't want to overwhelm you @Vape? But here is a screen shot of the calculator I use. I order the 100 mg/ml nic base in PG (propylene glycol). I buy the PG and VG by the gallon. I've been vaping a year and have used less than half a gallon. I just finished my first 500 ml bottle of nic base and have started on a second liter. As you can see, you can set this to mix 10, 30, 120 mls at a time. Plug in your PG:VG ratios and the nic base you have on hand (mine is PG), the desired nic strength you want (18mg), along with your recipe's flavor percents and it will tell you exactly how many mls to add of everything to get the desired percents when you hit the "calculate" button. If you can cook by a recipe, you can mix your own ejuices.

That's a handy tool. Which companies flavouring are best? Are they significantly different depending on where you get it?

I get most of my flavors from Bull City Vapor - Best Prices on DIY e-liquid Supplies. Sometimes when they don't have what I want I go directly to the Flavor Apprentice site. They carry Capella, Flavor Arts and others. I'm sure many could tell you more sites but none of these will break the bank. It only takes a tiny amount of flavor for a 30 ml bottle that lasts me nearly a week. I've been making 120 ml bottles of my favorite flavors for a long while now.

The only thing I've noticed, so far, is that Capella's peach tastes like canned peaches and Flavor Arts peach tastes most like what you pick from a a tree, but I use Capella's in my homemade Betelguese (a clone) because it was suggested. I don't like FA's coconut. It tasted more like the shell than the nut meat, but it may have been because I was using too strong of a concentration. Sometimes less is best. It's that way with the florals. One of my favorites is Violet (at 3.5%) with sweetener (0.5%). That's tiny, but all you need and anymore makes it taste awful. My granny smith apple pie recipe totals almost 16% flavors and is delicious, but the greater the % of flavors the quicker your coils will gunk up. (Same with Betelguese). Basic single note flavors won't. When I first started I was using tobacco with menthol, but it made me crave a cigarette so I stopped the tobacco flavors. The vanilla custards and Bavarian creams are scrumptious with any fruit added.

Dear Roto ::

I have followed your work scenario from the get go and I have watched it evolve .. in fact, evolving to the point where there seemed to be some real concerns about future job stability, the viability of the location, etc .. I feel safe in saying that some of your willingness to "Take one for the Team" has to do with your own personal concerns and, rightfully so, your demonstrating your willingness and ability to do the Work and walk the Extra Mile or Three .. for this sacrifice you should be awarded the "Employee of the Year" award with a nice Cash Bonus, IMO ..

Unfortunately, we live in a World where much of the Corporate Philosophy is, "Do More With Less" .. while this may sound bassacwards, since they, I am sure, are paying an Overtime Premium to you, it does still save them money from actually bringing in another Real Human or two .. there is no one here that knows the intricate details of the Work and Political Climate of your Work Place .. other than you, of course ..

What to do .. ?? The following is not advice, it's just Food For Thought .. ask the Person in Charge // Schedule Maker // Grand PooBah for a One on One at a designated time and, in a very nice and diplomatic way, simply explain your scenario, that you do have a life outside work, that you don't mind sometimes throwing down on the OT, etc .. and after making a Diplomatic Statement, stop, sit quietly and wait for the reply .. this is key, and it's the toughest part .. but, by sitting quietly, you will learn a lot .. just let him / her do the talking after you've made your case ..

Many, if not most people, have an innate need to fill Dead Air .. much can be gleaned by taking advantage of this oddly pervasive trait ..
Amen.

Wow ... just wow ... I couldn't believe how fortunate I was and how generous an 'unknown' (to me) ECFer was.

Yesterday in the "Wanted" section of the classifieds I placed a post looking for a 510 Kabuki. They're not being made anymore, just a P3 threaded version that requires a P3 to 510 adapter. In the ad I stated I was willing to pay up to retail for one in very good to excellent condition.

This morning I had a CONVO from an ECFer telling me to send him my address and he'd PIF me one. Wow ... just wow I was blown away.

So @classwife, a Kubuki is coming to us. Long live ECF!
Doesn't it just blow you away when something like that happens? I've not experienced generosity among strangers in my entire life such as I've experienced on ECF. It's an amazing place.

So my foot is cramping up and my toes are going off at odd angles, and my wife is laughing too hard about it to help...

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

Hi everyone

So my girl messaged me Friday and said she got news that her dad in Perth was in hospital and he was dying.
had what was suspected to be a stroke - later turned out to be something with his brain and she was told he was going to die very soon.

So she called up and booked a bus ticket from where she is to Perth that was leaving 8am saturday.
Sadly she got a call from her dads sister that he passed away 2am saturday.
She still came up here on saturday and left today thursday.
She went and saw his body at the hospital on Tuesday and got some of his hair. She wants to put it or make some jewellery from it.

I lost my dad 25 years ago when I was 18 so have some familiarity with such a situation.
Been a bit of rollercoaster of emotions for her.
It's a Rollercoaster for everyone I believe. The loss of a parent is scary, no matter your age, or their age. It doesn't even matter what kind of parent they were. My father was the only securitu & anchor my sisters & I had. We always knew where we stood, what was expected, what his reaction would be. He was steady as a rock, while our mother is a fliberty gibbet & totally unpredictable.
You are doing well just being there for her. Very emotional, yes. Just stay close & be there.

That's amazing! This place gives hope in humanity!

RTS Vapes has the biggest variety of flavorings that I've seen anywhere. Their site says they ship worldwide.

All kinds of opinions on which brands are best. Might want to hang out in the DIY forum to ask about that. You'll get lots of opinions!

The only difference in quality based on where you buy flavorings is the difference between which sites re-bottle flavorings before they sell them. Buying in huge quantities, then re-bottling into smaller quantities makes it much cheaper to sell. Some people think that's important. Some don't.

Just thought it might be nice to start the day off with this......... (feel free to crank it up ;))

Seems a lot of "us" could use a little inspiration and this one holds a special place in my heart.
Dedicated to EVERYONE that has foot problems, surgery problems, "barometric pressure" issues "not so good news" issues, "over worked & underpaid" issues or anything else that's making you feel tired, worn out or old and useless.

Yep, some pretty great, generous people here on ECF. I have been PIFed several nice items, and have also PIFed to others things I don't use anymore. It's a feel good feeling.

So sorry for her. It is so hard to loose a parent, much less any family member. Gone from your life but never from your heart.
