Hahahaha! Yeah, that's what happens when you run around with an 11 year old, a 7 year old, and a 3 year old. The two older ones were trying to drown me in the pool, then a yellowjacket landed on my shoulder while they were both hanging off of me. I just tolerated being stung while I removed the kids (didn't want to spook the thing into stinging one of them), then I flicked it off so my brother-in-law could squash it on the deck. That thing must have stung me 5-6 times... then the kids were super sweet, they were worried that I was hurt. I just laughed and dunked 'em back in the pool and kept playing. Apparently, they now think that "Uncle Daniel is invincible!". LOL! They weren't lucky enough to get to watch me moan and groan as I crawled out of bed and tried to get my muscles to work again the next morning!
That's really taking one (or five or six) for the team. Don't know if I could have endured that. I think you're invincible, too.

LOL! Even my sisters couldn't believe I did that... both said they'd have freaked out and tossed the kids! LMAO! Me? Nah.... I'd step in front of a moving vehicle to protect those kids. Family is Family; you protect family. Besides, I know I'm not allergic to them; I'm not too sure about the kids. Either way, those things hurt, and I don't wanna see any of 'em cry. I can "man up" for pretty much anything, but I can't stand to see a kid cry... they're supposed to be happy. :)
I'd have sent kids fly'n! I am a wimp like that, tho. Good on ya, Kaz!

You have not had any down time for your body or mind to relax & reset. As a result both are turned on all the time. Nonstop. Anything mechanical, if turned on & left on will eventually burn out & breakdown. They all need a turn off, & cool down period. So it is with the human body & mind.
You need to take your down time. Tell these people no. Just do it once. Then do it again. Take your next 7 days off & add a week vacation time to it. That Manager is calling you to come in to work so he doesn't have to step up & do it himself. Because that is what Managers are supposed to do. He's calling you because you aren't married, & have no children to require your attention. It leaves him free to enjoy his days off. He gets his down time for sure. He thinks you have nothing else to do but work. You need to change his mind, because he's taking advantage of you & doesn't even think of finding someone else to do these things because he knows you'll show up.
Been through this. I've been a Manager, I hated having to go in & work extra because someone called in & there was no one else to come in. But I did it, because that is why Managers are on salary, not hourly, pay. It's their job to do it.
Say no, & take your days off, Roto. You are ruining your health & wasting time you should be able to enjoy for yourself.

WORK TO LIVE. DON'T LIVE TO WORK.

So true and very wise.

Working with artists today to acquire an image for book branding. I want an elegant and stealthy-looking heron's side-view perched atop a gator's head. A face-on view of the gator just breaking the surface of the water. A simple black and white image that would easily transfer to T-shirts and swag. Sound simple??? You should see the images artists have sent, so far. LOL...this is a lot harder than it sounds.

I'm no help. Not sure how to draw a stick gator...

Kay, I found your latest news really uplifting.

I've spent almost all of my time in the past couple of days reading a Kindle book online: Lee Child's "Never Go Back", which according to the book jacket is #18 in the Jack Reacher series. I'm completely unfamiliar with numbers 1-17 but I'm really enjoying this one. I'm about halfway through it.I'm a believer in free enterprise, and it's not likely you could compete with the standing offers I've already received to NOT show the video. Some things are best left to the imagination, and "some things" generally includes us.

Thank you Dave!

I think it triggers natural anti-inflammatories. Does better than acupuncture in China. [Clinical randomized study of bee-sting therapy for rheumatoid arthritis]. - PubMed - NCBI Talking about a powerful placebo study!
Yep! When I get sick, or have some issue that triggers an immune response the RA gets better. My immune system focuses on the other problem until that is resolved. But it doesn't ever turn down or off. It just goes back to thinking senovial fluid is an infection & chewing on my joints.

They say a couple of bee stings can reduce the pains of arthritis.

Had a very dear military friend (bride of our Germany USAF sponsor) of ours dat 'shot' up more gold dan I could believe. Back to da states and several 'bee sting' treatments, most relief she's had in years! Unfortunately, RA is not a cooperative player over da years; as all too many porchers know!

Because your body has a real pain to focus on.

Actually, our special lady friend did sooo well fer an extended period (nine months or so); major relief! Unfortunately, da benefits of da treatments diminished dramatically thereafter. RA ran rampant on her side of her family.

I did great on another biologic I was on. I went into almost total remission for 4 years. There is zero history of RA on either side of my family. They think, (& I know), that mine is stress & anxiety triggered. Too much stress & suppressing it for too many years. My Dr says I'm very stoic. I just refuse to give in.

WORK TO LIVE. DON'T LIVE TO WORK.
I had another sweetie tell me the same thing this afternoon. I haven't received any calls yet, and today is Monday, and I was rather expecting it. However, my body and mind are SCREAMING at me to say NO, and I will. I can't take anymore. I just can't.

On another note, I've been pretty much taking it easy here on the island. Because of the bankruptcy and all the other stupid stuff that goes along with it, I don't know how much longer I'll be on this base. They're saying our contract is up in August or October. I don't know which, and don't really care at this point. I'm not lamenting the fact that I may have to leave my beloved island workplace. What I AM doing is going out in the evening on the porch at the OPs building and enjoying the magnificent sunsets over the bayou that runs in the back of the base. This morning I walked up onto the dunes in the back of our living quarters and breathed in peace while enjoying the picture of the full moon shining down on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Nobody can EVER take those mental pictures from me.

I picked this up online and it is great against flys, bees, wasp, and any other flying/crawling insects. It shoots a load of salt and is pretty accurate and deadly on flys out to about 5 feet. Gee, I hope I am not violating any rules. It is appropriately called the Bug-A-Salt. I have lots of fun with it when I am on the patio when I am smoking my ribs and brisket. What can I say, some things just can't be vaped.
