Not a bad idea at all! Any more, dose 'utility' vehicles are luxury rides.

Sorry Russ, 'salvation' (if you believe in such) doesn't work dat way. Have yet to know of anyone that 'worked'/earned their way to salvation. I know I didn't/can't! That's the beauty with Love of salvation, it's backazzwards to our human thinking. It's a gift, not a reward!

[/B][/I][/SIZE]

In this faith the reward for good or evil works is in this life, and all but murderers and betrayers go to "heaven", there is no salvation because there is no original sin, you pay for your sins by accepting the consequences of the sin and trying to do better. There is no divine punishment for minor sins.

It's not a Christian faith, it is much older.

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

You need to write it down when you take your meds & eat. If it's not written down you didn't do it. I set alarms on my Mom's phone to remind her when it's time for meds. No need to remind her to eat.

Ya sure - unless you're not quite sure you didn't forget to write it down.

Well we are finally ready to go. Just get up and load the things we needed in the house till morning. Might check in when we stop for a bite at the rest area right before we go over the mountains. They've got em about every 40 miles till after that one then it's about 100 miles to the next one

We decided to leave tomorrow morning. Ginny is feeling better today so we can finish loading up and get the car hooked up and all we will have to do is get up and grab our electric cords and my computer and head out. We thought about leaving today but by the time we finish everything we wouldn't get out till 2pm or so and would be better to go in the morning. So you have to put up with me off and on another day.
safe travels sweetie.........glad Ginny is feeling better!! Isn't it time for you to check in?? lol

I know for sure that there's both in my house! ;)
On my way.......and bringin a little Sailor Jerry's with me. You got Dr Pepper and lime, or do I need to stop for some? Keep LB there and don't let her leave!! You may need to get more chocolate!

Where I park now is under a tree, so pretty much in the shade. I think the heat & not being driven much has an effect on dry rot as well.
oh wow didn't realize you were having tire issues. They're dry rotting??

While waiting, I'm watching the amazon black friday deals.
dang darlin.........so sorry you're having so many troubles with the TV. Hope you got the one you found at best buy. Most times folks say they're cheaper to get a new one than fix older ones these days

To all our travelers - have a safe trip!

I drive 4 hrs to West Palm Beach tomorrow to do a dog show there. My little van is packed to the gills. Showing Geordi Saturday and Sunday - actually his breeder is showing him, but I may need to step in if Geordi is put up over his brother. We shall see!
So wish I could be there!! Hope you can video! Hope Geordi does great! Has he gotten rid of some of his puppyness?? Reckin you'll find out huh lol

In other news after being without AC since Friday in 100F heat and high humidity.....WE FINALLY HAVE AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh dang darlin.........glad you have it fixed. We were only without it for about 24 hrs. Helped that dil's brother used to work for the guy we called, so he squeezed us in.

Not anymore. I got new tires 2 months ago. Now i'm having trouble with it pulling hard left when I brake, & the steering tries to pull hard to the right on flat road. I can turn the steering wheel back & forth & correct the steering for while. Not driving it until I can get those things fixed. Don't want to mess up my new tires. I think the steering might be a busted strut or maybe u joints. Brakes mabe calipers.

it's always sumpthin aint it. Sorry you're having the issues. I'd thought you'd just gotten new tires, but didn't know if you were having issues with those or the old ones. And couldn't remember for sure if you had gotten new ones.

HA! Not for the past several years... I moved on to dark Stouts for beer or I'll drink hard apple ciders, but mostly when I have a drink, I tend to stick with Bourbon or Jack Daniels. ;)

Been there, done that. Finally realized that using alcohol is mostly wasted money. Saved my money and my liver.

  • I had ski boats and fishing boats for a big part of my younger life. Then I got "too mature" to feel safe for myself and my friends so I sold the boat along with the Kawasaki 750 and don't do any of that anymore. My favorite pastime now is to go to the local municipal boat launch especially in Spring and watch the boat rookies try to launch/recover their new boats. Sometimes they even launch their vehicles also. Just too funny!!

being retired, i have no reason to be awake at any particular time.

@MamaTried I've been retired since 2004. When I left work that last day I was so burnt out and so stressed that I vowed to myself that I going to let my overburdened mind go completely slack. That lasted for about 6 months. I then realized that what I had vowed to do was actually happening. That was a very scary realization. Personally, I have to stay involved and aware and find at least one thing every day that I did not know before. Inactivity and lack of face-to-face social interaction are killers of both mind and body for me. My various body parts are now held together pretty much with chewing gum and duct tape but my mind has recovered mostly and my outlook is, if not bright, at least has all the lamps lit. Try a schedule for chores and the things you like to do and then stick to it.......you might feel better. Of course, YMMV

@Kaezziel, I can't help but for my heart to ache for you and your lovely bride. Still, what little positive there is helps tremendously. :) You don't need any advice. As you know, in my eyes, You Da Man!

I'll always listen to advice, Brother Von. Learning from others is what has gotten me this far in life. We are holding on to the positives as best we can, though. Her best friend (her God-children's mother) came to visit her yesterday. They had a nice long visit and did a bit of cathartic crying. Then, apparently, they talked about me while I wasn't there. :sneaky: Ain't no tellin' which direction that conversation took...

Kazz maybe you know. I have been dying to try that strongbow stuff but I will be danged if I can figure out where they put the stuff in the stores. It is not near the craft beers or with the wines. Any ideas where to look?

I know that at the Kroger's here, it is usually with the other ciders and the newer "hard root beers" and "hard sodas". Might also be near the wine coolers and such. Look for Angry Orchard, Woodchuck, and Ace... it'll probably be near those. Also, if you see Strongbow Honey Apple Cider... get some! Take it home, and pour it over ice... ;) Thank me later... :p

In other news after being without AC since Friday in 100F heat and high humidity.....WE FINALLY HAVE AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hallelujah!!! We had to fight that battle recently, ourselves. Fortunately, I had one of those small, portable units that sits on the floor. The exhaust vent hooks up to a little panel that goes in the window. Managed to keep the master bedroom at around 70-75°, but the rest of the house was a sweat lodge! So happy that you can be nice and cool again! :D

Don't know about Strongbow, Myrany, but the Angry Orchard (also very good IMO) is with the more premium/import stuff, at least up here.............

Angry Orchard does have several tasty varieties. They are my second favorite hard cider! Strongbow doesn't really taste any better than Angry Orchard, but Strongbow holds a more sentimental spot in my heart. First time I ever had hard cider was a pitcher of Strongbow when I was overseas... when all else is equal, memory and sentimentality breaks the tie. ;)

i achieved a new personal record the other night...

according to the fire dept (911 responders) my blood sugar was 21. Yay!!! Personal record!!!

they stuck in an iv, fed me 2 of yiddle's glucose tablets (which were in another room) and then made me a sammitch. after that, i got up and danced a little jig, and they decided i didn't need to go to a hospital.

i *think* i forgot i already took my meds and took them again, which, apparently is a bad thing for a diabetic. might have also forgotten to eat. it's kinda fuzzy

i remember waking up in my computer chair and the entire left side of my body was totally useless. i thought i'd had a stroke. my phone was handy, but my hands didn't work so i couldn't dial 911. somehow, i managed to dial my daughter, who called me back. sensing my inability to speak clearly, she called 911. smart girl. when the fire dept showed up, they asked if i could unlock the front door. i said "sure" since my computer desk is near the front door, and then promptly fell on the floor, where i stayed immobile til they finally found me.

much like my last incident, the fire dept was highly impressed that i could actually respond to questions when my blood sugar was that low. i should soon be in their HOF...

the highlight was when one of the firemen asked if i needed something to drink with the sammitch. all i have in the fridge are diet teas. apparently, he's a rookie, so all the other guys just gave him crap til they all left. "You gave him a diet drink, rook???"

fun times. fun times...

Damnit, Dennis... don't make me come over there. My Bride has Type I diabetes, and I've seen her get down that low before, also. Like you, she was still coherent enough to converse and remain active. I brought her a Coca Cola and instead of drinking it, she decided that it was a better idea to try to explain to me how the low blood sugar was making her feel. Of course, she could speak, but her thoughts were a bit disjointed. I finally told her that if she didn't drink the coke, then I was gonna have to stick her with the glucagon shot. Fortunately, I have no problem stickin' her with needles, and she knows it. She drank the coke while I made her something to eat and all ended well. She still has occasional lows and highs, but the insulin pump helps her to keep it under control for the most part. Your case is a little different. You have to be more diligent! With Type II, you have to take your pills, and you have to eat at the same time every day. I'm gonna take Iffy's route here and tell you to "Pull yer hed outta yer azz and take better care of yerself!". We all love you like a brother, and we want you to stick around for a while, man. I'm well aware that I'm not telling you anything that you didn't already know... I just want to reaffirm the need for it all. If that doesn't work, then we're gonna have to set you up with a Wi-Fi enabled shock collar and set it up so that Yiddle can give you your twice daily shock reminder to take your pills. ;)

Love ya, Man! *hugs*

On my way.......and bringin a little Sailor Jerry's with me. You got Dr Pepper and lime, or do I need to stop for some? Keep LB there and don't let her leave!! You may need to get more chocolate!

Outta Dr. Pepper and lime, drank all the Bourbon, and LB finished off the chocolate. ;) You were a l'il late, Darlin'!

Been there, done that. Finally realized that using alcohol is mostly wasted money. Saved my money and my liver.

I'm still awaiting that realization. At the moment, I'm still marinating my liver so that it'll be the last bit of me that's left after everything else has gone. :p
