That's EXACTLY how it's done, Matt. Trust me, been there done that. :-x The state has a mail gestapo agent or agents and "suspect packages" are then "scanned". Up here they had the courtesy to slap a "Contents Scanned" sticker on the package so you knew they were on to you. They'd let a half dozen or so of those go through, then send you a letter stating you owe "X" in back taxes OR we can prosecute you and fine you $5,000 and up to 2 years in jail. Will that be personal check or CC??? Pa. seems to have stolen a play from Ak.'s play book. Adding 3 years to the jail time was a nice touch though. Very progressive. NOT!!! :-x :-x :-x

I'm not doubting you, just wondering how the interaction works between the USPS and the state agents. As a former USPS employee I've never known of anyone except Federal employees; ie; the US Postal Inspection Service, having access to the US Mail for investigative purposes.

No need for the Tin Foil Hat :: The cyber-surveillance systems already in place can be used to notify any agency immediately after an online purchase is made .. the simple use of key word programming, drawing from a database of known e-cig / liquid on-line Vendors and other techniques can be utilized to flag any package, regardless of any other scanning / x-ray that might happen along the way .. the advent of the Tracking Number, which so many know and love, has it's own Dark Side .. these are the real facts of how the system can be used to identify suspected cross State shipments containing anything .. especially when shipped from a Business ..

Under the Mail Isolation Control and Tracking program, the U.S. Postal Service photographs the exterior of every piece of mail that is processed in the United States — about 160 billion pieces per year, estimated. The U.S. Postmaster General stated that the system is primarily used for mail sorting, but the images are available for possible use by law enforcement agencies, State Tax Collection entities, etc .. it is an expansion of a 100-year-old program called "mail cover" which targets people suspected of crimes .. which, I believe, was used against Tommy Chong during the investigation against him, if memory serves ..

.. the really sad part about the Pennsylvania legislation is, it seems to me it was just another knee jerk money grab, ending up putting the Vape Industry in PA under extreme duress, possibly causing the shutdown of B&M's, etc .. with the end result being loss of State revenue, rather than gain .. a classic case of the least important part of a situation having too much influence over the most important part, or "The Tail Wagging The Dog" .. if you want to increase Tax Revenue, the market should be encouraged to grow, rather than targeted for a cash grab that you may never see ..

I'm no expert, but logic tells me that the bulk of the e-cig Industry does not have the cash reserves the tobacco industry has .. It is made up of literally hundreds of suppliers from all over the World, including China. The Chinese wholesalers and manufacturers that make up much of the Industry network will not bother to apply for any wholesale licenses, nor will they willingly collect and remit taxes to PA, as well as PA being unable to collect from China .. And the retailers are small, with many being new businesses. They do not have billions in cash just laying around like Phillip-Morris does. If a store has an inventory of $100,000 .. the state expects them to write a check for $40,000 in about 90 days .. How many local, family owned type businesses do you know that have that kind of liquid capital just sitting in the bank?

PA joins the long list of States that are digging around the couch cushions looking for loose change and don't seem to give much thought to how real Economic and subsequent Tax Growth can and would take place .. Short term greed generally always stops long term gain .. and, at some point, the Black Market kicks in ..

Don't have a costco
That sux.
We have sams, costco and BJ's here.
Out of the three... sams sux big time. But it used to be amazing. Signed up there at home back in the 70's. Stores were shaking in their boots cuz no one could compete. Then prices gradually rose. Quality took a HUGE nose dive.
We use them here cuz they're the closest (in the states) But honestly, seems they're dealing in rejects and seconds anymore.

Thank you, David. Honestly, though, I don't think that I'm doing anything special. Nothing that any other man in a similar situation wouldn't do, anyway. And believe me, I don't always do the right things... just trying to do the best I can in a bad situation with what I have, ya know? Between the way my Mama raised me, and the Grace of God, hopefully I won't screw it up too bad.
Don't under credit yourself Kaz. Not every man (or woman) would stick by a seriously ill spouse. I was dumped less than a year into this RA thing after a 7 year relationship. That took years to get over, & I've not even slightly considered entering into another. In fact I avoid social situations other than family occasions. It made me feel unloveable somehow. Like that wobbly table in the cafe that no one will sit at. At the time my looks had not even been affected. But it is what it is, & not everyone is up to being with someone they know is not 100%.

Late again.......Howdy Anyway. :D
That's what I thought. :)
@Uncle Willie cleared that up quite nicely. Regardless of the details, the fact of the matter is that the state WILL track you down and extract "their" pound of flesh. :-x :-x :-x
Pulled in and bought a Subvod kit and a bottle of juice (you may laugh now VV).
Nope, no laughing here. Those Subvods are a darned good device, handy as a pocket in a shirt and great travel/knock around mods.

We're kind of in the same boat as @Myrany . 120 mi R.T. if we want to shop the warehouse stores. We've got a Super WM and a Targeh but now warehouse stores in our hunk of the tundra.

When I am subjected to the "wobbly table" syndrome, I politely ask for a piece of cardboard to fold and insert under the suspect leg .. lacking said cardboard, I get a napkin or whatever might be handy to provide at least a temporary fix .. because most all things need care and attention, sometimes, including Humans .. :)

On a more somber note, brother in law lost his battle with cancer, he was able to pass away peacefully at home with his family. If y'all would, send some good thoughts my sis in law's way, it's been hard for her; she's been in a traumatic limbo because it took the doctor almost two weeks to get around to signing the death certificate so the cremation could take place...... :-x :(
That's terrible, Kim. Prayers for SIL & family going up now. Prayers for peace & healing. What was that Dr thinking?

Sorry to hear that Kenna, methinks you are probably better off without that person in your life, although that realization does nothing to ease the pain of abandonment. Don't wanna hear any more about being unlovable though, couldn't imagine the back porch without ya.

I've tried that but I can't ever get the folded cardboard to stick to the bottom of my foot.

TY, I am much better off, Kim! I even knew it at the time. It did not happen in a kind, or even friendly way, which is where my hang up was.
I am beyond delighted with my Porch family!

Although my post was intended as a metaphor, the technique could, I suppose, be used in conjunction with Kim's Tape in order to correct any leg length abnormalities .. ;)

I like softer crust better but I can't complain...for $3 at Food Lion and the cost of enough electricity to bake it for 19 minutes, not bad at all. Since it's not a self-rising pizza, the edges are crisp. I finished 3/4 of it, the other quarter might be a midnight snack. Washed it down with a coupla three Best Damn Root Beers.

Well it was actually more the "wobbly leg", combined with the knowledge that you are a fellow imbiber, that inspired my deliberate misinterpretation.
