Yep, if I have to I will make them a bigger board. I am already making them a larger bookcase out of scrap lumber...

You could just make it easy on yourself... paint a whole wall with that 'chalkboard paint' stuff... they could have a wall sized chalkboard to write on! ;)

I liked it. One for each foot might work.

LMAO!!!! Good to see ya, Matt!

As it's my birthday I decided to take the day off. We're going out to eat tonight, Mexican food, my favorite as of now. My favorite changes when I get bored with one it's time to switch.
Wanted to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. Always nice. Doree got me a birthday card calling me an old fart and going on to describe the different types of farts. Pretty damn funny. We don't go in for the sentimental type of cards. Life is to short not to laugh, especially as we get older when there seems to be fewer things to laugh about. ;)

Yummmmm!! I've been on a Mexican food kick lately, too... I'd be embarrassed to admit to how many tacos I've eaten in the past month. Let's just say that I've probably eaten close to 30 pounds of fajita beef, and numerous packages of soft corn tortillas. Not to mention an entire bottle of Heartbreaking Dawns and several jars of Mrs. Renfro's Habanero Salsa!:lol:

Her daughter recently had gall bladder surgery and is still recovering. :) Last update said that she was doing pretty well, but loving thoughts and prayers continue!

I like the genuine Mexican shredded beef tacos and of course seafood tacos, preferabky shrimp tacos. Of course no food you eat in the good old USA is genuine Mexican, mostly Tex/Mex which is OK by me.

Nah, there are quite a few taco joints around here that are completely authentic. ;) Most all of the tacos I've eaten recently were made at home, though. Grilled skirt steak, fresh cilantro and onions, a little hot sauce/salsa, and a little fresh shredded extra sharp cheddar. Then get the small corn tortillas and just warm them up on a cast iron skillet, give it a little squeeze of lime and eat 'em up!

Speaking of people who are MIA... what about @Rotowoman ? Unless my mind is slippin' again, she hasn't been around lately, either. Anybody know how she's doin'?
Yeah I remember sh got transferred but haven't heard much since. They must be working her to death again.

How can you not be in Texas. My daughter works with a bunch of Mexican ladies and they are teaching her to make all kinds of stuff at home. OOPS Grandaughter, think of her as my daughter cause we raised her from 6 months through 4 years of college.

LMAO!!! Thanks for the laugh, Willie!!! The E-card was hilarious!

Yep... I know that she's a lot busier, because she said that had a lot more helicopters there. I just hope that she's doing okay...

We've got too many missing porchers lately.

Hahaha! I know! I never was a huge fan of Mexican food when I was growing up... in Mississippi, their idea of Mexican food was Taco Bell. :nah: I found a taco place the other day, though... the guy that owns it moved here from Mexico. Is actually a full-fledged chef, but opened this little taco place and makes authentic stuff. Carne Asada, Al Pastor... all kinds of stuff, all fresh ingredients, nothing fried... even makes the tortillas by hand AS YOU ORDER THEM! It's all absolutely delicious! I could spend a LOT of money there... if I HAD a lot of money! I'd also probably gain a hundred pounds, because my stomach refuses to tell my brain to stop eating it. Last time I was in there, I ate 9 tacos. I could hardly move afterwards... that drive home was brutal. But it was SOOOOOOoooo good!

As one who has traveled into Mexico and made it a point to sample "real" Mexican cuisine, it's an acquired taste, IMO .. I'll take a good old USA Taco Truck any day .. and I don't like Menudo, the dish or the Band .. o_O

For the most part, I find it helpful to not ask too many questions when sampling cuisine from another culture. It doesn't bother me much, but many people get squeamish about eating some things. There were many dishes that I consumed overseas that were absolutely delicious, but I couldn't tell you what was in them, because I often didn't ask. ;) Good food is good... knowing exactly what was in it isn't necessary to me.

I don't mind Menudo, if it is prepared properly... I like the spices they use, and the flavor of the soup. What I'm not a fan of is lengua... I had lengua tacos a coupla weeks ago, and I just didn't care for the texture. I expected it to be a little firm and 'chewier'... it was much to soft for my liking. Had to try it, though... I love to experiment with new foods!

Maybe going against the grain here, however, Porchers come and Porchers go .. it's always been an ebb and flow over the years .. some come back, some don't, much like life .. people I know in Real Life don't express concern when they don't see me for a while, or hear from me .. (of course, that could just be me .. ;))

I don't understand why it's a concern at all, really .. do we see or talk to everyone we know .. ?? Do we wonder about them if we have not heard something in a few days or a few weeks .. ??

A week, two weeks, etc, it's not uncommon .. disappearance permanently is not uncommon .. hundreds of folks have come thru the BP over the years .. I just don't think there is cause to think the worst, or that someone not being around for a while is odd .. it's Life ..
