Ha! Made me think of a conversation with my best friend. Geordi has been not feeling well. Not eating, blah, not "persistent play with me", low fever. She said "makes you miss those times you want to tell the kids to go play in the traffic". Yea, and get off my lawn!

Happy to report he ate tonight. Fever down. Looking forward to the persistence (read obnoxious, but that's what I love) tomorrow.
I got home tonight from my 3 1/2 days with the Corgi. I am concerned about something going on with him. Since I started staying with him in May, I think it was, he's been very sick once when I wad there, once starting the day I left, & this time he barfed at least once every day. I'm only feeding him what they feed him, not introducing toys or snacks that are new to him. Just what they leave for him. I usually leave the back door open so he can have unlimited access to the back yard through the doggie door. This time I kept the door shut & took him out myself so I could see what he was getting inton because he got really sick last time I was there. The vet hasn't found any reason for it. I wonder if itvs anxiety, or a behavior thing. Throwing up is something thdt just staryed the last time when he was so sick. But to do it on a daily basis? Owner says he doesn't do this except when he's with me. I think he's doing itn but cleaning up the evidence, because I can see no reason for it to be happening just when I'm there.

Yeah she didn't do anything to strenuous, she has been seeing a rheumatologist and started her out at 10mg of prednisone and they have been cutting her back because her RA factor went way down. The worst is her feet. One doctor said she had faciitis but when she started on the prednisone it got better so IDK will RA make the bottom of your feet hurt so bad you can hardly walk?
Faciitis is inflammation and Prednisone just knocks inflammation on its azz. Love the stuff and would take it all the time if it wasn't so bad for you. Back when I used to smoke 2.5 PAD I would get broncitis or pneumonia all the time. My doc would put me on the 5-5-4-4-3-3-2-2-1-1 regime of Prednisone. After couple of days I would feel like a teenager, nothing hurt.:)

It's an anti-inflamatory pain reliever like Tylenol. If she canvt take that there are other things. RA can effect your digestive system, kidneysn lungs, heart... just about any organ. That's why it has to be monitored & controlled. It's seriously bad stuff.
Tylenol is an anti-inflamatory of sorts but, it isn't a NSAID. That's why when you start getting tummy troubles or ulcers they say Tylenol is ok but Ibuprofen isn't.

And then there's the Naproxen line, aka Aleve, also a NSAID.
I tried Naproxen when I was first diagnosed, but it did nothing for me. Then they came out with Celebrex a few months later & it was like magic. With the Rituxan I seldom have to take it anymore. Maybe 1 every 3 days when the Rituxan starts getting low. But I was on it twicw a day for 18 years.

Yes, it's a great anti-inflamatory but you aren't supposef to take it daily forever. It will mess you up. Dose packs are great for those occasional times. Taking them non stop for about 12 years is why I'm have such a strong reaction to them now. But I don't have a choice with the infusions. Just gotta do it. Itvs not sufficient to cotrol the other things that go on with RA. It just treats the most obvious symptom.

I agree about the General, & that Governor, & am very suspicious of the other DS.
I got to watch the two that are out, and have the rest set to dvr. Really enjoying it! So glad someone said what it was about. Jup can't stand the General and Gov. The other DS puzzles me. No reason for her to be there. The beginning says they seclude ONE person and that is THE ds. Suddenly she shows up, no explanation as to how they chose him over her to be Pres. No explanation as to the role she plays. She's not VP, does she become Pres if he dies since he was the only one left, which is what I'm assuming. Just weird.

I'm still here. Each day is one small victory.
So good to see you and hear you're doing better!! Dunno if you saw it or not, but we just discussing once again how we all needed to either give trusted friends here a contact for at least one of our family members, or make sure a responsible family member will come on here and let folks know what it going on if we're unable to do it for awhile

I'm still alive. Motorhome problems again. Front left brakes locked up and warped the rotor. Spent the day finding parts and my buddy and I took the whole front left hub and brakes apart. New rotor comes in Monday and we'll put it back together again then do the right side. You have to do both or it won't stop properly. Doing it myself is saving me around $1000.
More details and maybe some pics later. For now, here's something so funny it brought tears to my eyes.

that was hilarious! I've seen clips of that before and liked it. I don't know if it's on amazon streaming or not, but netflix doesn't have it. May just have to search YT for em. Hopefully can get it on the TV

So I done got me a 1.5 oz jar of dis here stuff here from Amazon. Pretty sure it's a lifetime supply.
would be for me! If I were dumb enough to even open it and sniff it, it would be from a distance. And if I were ever really dumb enough to ever try a drop of it on something, (and that day could come where I was brave/dumb enough to do it) I am certain I would never be dumb enough to do it twice!

Jalapenos, sambal, sriracha, are about as hot as I go. I love Frank's red hot because it's really not spicy (unless you buy a gallon jug of it and it marinates over time in the fridge), but it's got great flavor. Tabasco chilis do not agree with me, but I love the flavor of cayenne, and that's what Frank's red hot uses.

Been playing with avatars but haven't found the right one yet thought this would do for now.
can't read what yur pink shirt says

I had a funny experience at the grocery store yesterday. I saw this older lady older then me walk in with two prosthetics like me and I was hoping she would come out before we left I was going to ask her if she wanted to go dancin. She didn't make it out before we left.
lmao! That's hilarious. Might have made her day!! Ya shoulda hunted her up in the store. Course there is always the chance she wouldn't have appreciated it.

Picked up a jar uv dat jaleeppeeni jelly. Knot bad. Recommendud bye moi.
I gotta see if my son will get some of that. I love it! And haven't had any in several years. Not all are created equal of course.

Well, carpet thing is going well, knew I should never have left it

The step daughter is still moved out, but she and the wife are no longer fighting

Taking a while to get used to the new meds, but I'm getting there

Had a 16oz prime rib, medium rare, for dinner, couldn't quite enjoy it as much as I used to, but it was nice.
Glad you are back to the carpet and doing well. And that the step daughter is out! Wonderful to see you being able to find some positive things. Keep an eye on the meds. Seems like they are doing well, but not sure what ya mean by getting used to them. If something isn't right about it, keep trying til you find what works. My son was lucky and got it on the 2nd try. First one was horrible........second one made him a completely new person who could see some joy in life and deal with the stress.

I'll never forget the first time I swallowed the wrong way. I thought I was gonna die. Ever since then, it happens every once in a while. Come to think of it, it hardly ever happens anymore.
Jup it's rough. it doesn't happen all the time, but enough to kinda worry about the pea or kernel of corn etc that I've just sucked into my lungs.

That is already in process. Johnny Depp is playing Vito Corleone... They are planning a trilogy...

We still don't have a landline. Been out since Friday, lucky we have cells too. I don't know what happened when we lost our power for 2 sec but has been out since then and all the information I can get is they have a cable problem in our area.
dang, that is a long time for them to not have it fixed! Glad y'all have cells. I always hate it when the phone goes out when I am alone. Don't have a cell, or a car, and feel totally cut off from the world without a phone.

Ok. Just stopped watching westworld. Seems you put JJ abrams in a room with a movie it'z a time waster.
Seems like I may have seen one movie he did and didn't care for it, but I sure did love LOST.

Happy to report he ate tonight. Fever down. Looking forward to the persistence (read obnoxious, but that's what I love) tomorrow.
oh good that he ate. hope he's much better tomorrow. It's awful when one of our kids are sick

And then there's the Naproxen line, aka Aleve, also a NSAID.
Tylenol types don't do a thing for me. Rx strength naproxen tried to kill me (felt like it) heartburn so bad it really seemed like a heart attack but I knew what it was. And otc aleve only worked on headaches, but got rid of em when nothing else would. But Ibuprofen and it's types work pretty well and don't bother me.
@Kenna Last visit they took me off meloxicam and put me on etodolac cuz I forgot to ask about celebrex, but it appears to be nearly identical to celebrex. It doesn't do much on it's own, but combined with the lidocaine patches, helps a little. The patches don't do much of anything on their own either. There is one that really controls the pain, doesn't make me loopy or high, but makes me feel human, and I can't get it because it's very abused by others and addictive, and that really ticks me off. I am a lil concerned bout heart issues with the etodolac or celebrex since I have a history of it in my family. All but my dad died of heart issues, plus I have HBP and high cholesterol.

poor lil mac! sure they don't just go outta town when he gits sick so you have to clean up the puppy yuck?? lol I can't imagine it's anxiety, cuz you'd see a lot of other signs The only signs of that you've described is when YOU get ready to leave. If it was something in the yard, he'd be vomiting etc when they were there. It's possible he's extremely sensitive to your RA or one of the meds you take, but it seems if that were the case that he would have started it when you first began sitting with him and I don't think this was an issue til the time before this one. Hope they find out what it is, especially if they just aren't noticing it when they're there. Dats not good.

I prefer to think of it as something that happens when they are gone rather that something that happens when you are there.

Actually, there's a bit of an explanation, where they say that the Republicans chose their own designated survivor. But, she's a House member, not a cabinet member, and IRL would not succeed to the Presidency. However, in the show, I can imagine those sneaky Republicans trying to say that when all the other House members died, she became Speaker of the House by default, which would place her above Kirkland in the line of succession.

yeah I recall them saying she was the repub one, but nothing about why they needed two DSs and how they picked.....so am only assuming (jup I am ;) ) that since they're already made him a bit of a target, that it's sort of an heir and a spare type of thing. Nothing to say why they picked him over her to be pres. Reckin I missed the part about her automatically becoming speaker of the house (what house?) I thought they all died too.

omgggggggg that's hilarious!!!! Laughed so hard I would have freaked out Frankie if he were here. Posed to be back tomorrow. I miss my puppy

Lifeline Cell Phone Eligibility | Assurance Wireless I have this. Plan on only using it for text, might do better with voice if I use the speakerphone feature. But my landline is set to switch to the cellphone if either electricity or cable is down.

If they leave so often, and don't take him, he isn't really a member of the family. If he has separation anxiety with you, he has bonded with you, which means it is not you. Does he greet you with enthusiasm? I suspect that he cleans it up himself, and they don't notice it.

The Republican one is unofficial. The Speaker of the House thing is speculation on my part and not backed up by ANYTHING except my own personal willingness to trust Republicans only as far as I can throw them. The reason that he became President is because by actual US law, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development becomes President if the 12 people ahead of him in the line of succession cannot do the job. The reason that she did not become President is that by actual US law, she, as a member of the US House of Representatives, is not in the line of succession to the US Presidency.

Well, it's important to me that the script doesn't depart from what would actually happen legally if such an unlikely catastrophe occurred. I've been explaining how, so far, the script has made no such departure.

I've put this behind a spoiler tag in case there is anyone who has not yet seen Episode 2 of Designated Survivor. Those who HAVE seen Episode 2, please go ahead and read what's behind the spoiler button:

The one living person that was found in the wreckage at the end of the episode surely will play a major part, even if he lives only long enough to utter a few words, yes?

Thanks for the info Matt she is going to ask if she can go back up to 10mg for a while till this subsides. She said it's like the bottom of her foot fill up with something when she is sitting but if she stands on it it slowly relieves it some.

Hey heres a little known fact at least we didn't know it. If you like feeding the Hummingbirds and watching them. We were watching a show on them and they said if you feed the Hummers you should take your feeder down by Labor Day because the Hummers will stay around as long as you keep feeding them and they will get a late start on their long journey to I believe somewhere in S. America and probably won't make it. So there ya go, take your feeders down by Labor Day or shortly there after and help the Hummingbird population
