Good fer ya'll. It's been a luxury whenever we could travel without a deadline/'appointment'/new assignment. Whenever possible, I try to take da 'local'/back roads.

Not only da younglins, adults also.

As to da FP/BP very recent 'drama', it's an old and ongoing 'challenge'. Many of us on da porches have been/are/will be 'guilty' of 'straying'.

Since our 'tex' was invoked in the issue, I'll go as far as to say that I think he would be quite disappointed in any discouragement for our new porchers from learning, contributing and becoming cherished members of our porch family!

He was a gentle, caring and patient soul that brought many of us here together. In appreciation of his efforts, we also should gently 'guide' each other to the proper porch without any chance of 'guilt' or misunderstandings!

With that said, we do have one hellava gathering here that I ever so much love and appreciate!

Thank ya'll fer bein' you...

Jup! Now if you tell me your son's name is Daniel, I'm gonna start whistling the twilight zone theme! hehehe

No I meant coming home for a couple weeks somewhere around the middle of the 9 months. The month after the deployment is part debriefing like you said, and then also his accrued vacation time for the year.

awwww how sweet! I think my son stopped in Ireland on the way to Iraq. (actually kuwait, cuz they had a couple weeks there for acclimation before going on to Iraq), and Scotland on the way home. But all he saw was the airport. Ireland is definitely on my list of places I'd love to visit. So is Scotland.
Andrew Mark,, we call him Mark.

ditto Ireland visit would be awesome

I mean lots.
Too dark to see.

Flooding is expected in this county, but there are places south of here, like Goldsboro, that have gotten 10 more inches of rain in the past 24 hours than has fallen here.

Remarkably, the coast has gotten much less rain than inland areas, so far anyway.

We can meet at the Boardwalk & have some Starbucks, & visit on the Patio! You are closer to the Boardwalk than I am but I love the Boardwalk!

You talking about the Boardwalk in San Antonio? I used to have an annual conference meeting there - loved the area... Bought a lot of antiques in the area and of course the food was always something to brag about...
