I am sure more has taken place here since I quoted these posts, but went and had a nice dinner and visit with my sister. So here goes so far:
I used to be a delivery driver, and I can't tell you how many times when delivering to the edge of town I was tempted to just keep on driving.

Cathy and Ellen!
Thank you!

Thank you just a few more days for you!

Well, it's official. I have my round trip ticket to Boston! Of course, it's round trip between Boston and Dallas (not San Antonio). So, there's going to be a lot of driving.

The one consolation is that it's just one direct flight instead of 2 connecting flights.

I'm actually going outside Texas! And, I get to see my daughter and grand-daughter. It's been a long, long time.

Gary Johnson and Bill Weld offer a breath of fresh air to a presidential election that is otherwise consumed by divisive partisan rhetoric. Both Johnson and Weld are former two-term Governors and both won re-election by appealing not just to their party, but to all voters. In fact, Bill Weld won his second term with the largest margin of victory in the history of Massachusetts.

Good morning!

I could have sworn I posted an update last night, but don't see it here! Exhaustion can do that to ya.

Anyway,

Power was resumed about 5ish yesterday! Having electricity is one of those things we take for granted....not any more! :) Generators are good, but the real thing is better!

We went out to dinner with neighbors and when we returned, voila......so so so relieved!

We're all pretty exhausted and still have a lot of cleanup to do, but there was no damage to the house and our 4 giant live oaks are still miraculously standing tall although a bit thinner. Hurricane windows are dirty but not even a scratch. We have one screen missing from our lanai, but that's it....we are so amazingly blessed!

We were hit here with a Cat3 at low tide which was our saving grace......had it been high tide.....well.......

Feeling mighty grateful that we had a safe home with son in St. Augustine! Downtown St. Augustine is a nightmare!

Texted with Matt and he and Doree should be in Daytona sometime today!

Won't be on much cause we're still pretty busy with cleanup and helping others so will be back when I can.

At the vet hospital where I worked for 17 years we had a slew of hand-outs for our clients on common diseases, first-aid, and all sorts of pet-related wellness stuff. I kept copies of all that stuff when I retired. If any of you want something specific instead of googling it PM me and I'll be happy to send you info if I have it. All this material was written by vets so you know it is accurate. The caveat to this is that this information in no way replaces the need to consult a vet if your pet is sick but it will give you some info about a condition or disease your vet has diagnosed.

Here is a general "when should I contact my vet" hand-out about how to determine if your pet needs help.

There are many possible emergencies but the following are the most serious and require immediate attention:
· Severe difficulty in breathing
· Hemorrhage
· Profound shock from any cause
· Anaphylaxis (severe allergic reactions)
· Penetrating wounds of the chest or abdomen
· Coma and loss of consciousness
· Poisoning
· Massive injuries to the body.
· Any injuries to the eye.
· Seizures
· Burns and scalds
· Heat stroke
· Bites and fight wounds
· Continuous vomiting and/or ........

Before you head to your vet:
1. Keep calm.
2. Contact the veterinary hospital, appraise them of the situation and get first aid advice.
3. Keep your pet warm and quiet. If there is possible trauma or broken limbs, keep movement to a minimum.
4. Get to the veterinary hospital as soon as possible.

Above all know your pet. Know what is normal for your pet. If your gut tells you something is wrong take action.
Thank you so much for posting this! What is considered profound shock? A few weeks ago, Frankie started just trembling and acting weird. The dog that will only just now (after being with him daily for a year) allow me to hold him close for just a few minutes, let me hold him tight for 1.5 hrs til my back just couldn't take it anymore then laid on my chest with my arms holding him for another 2.5 hrs. He didn't act sick........he just acted freaked out over something. He trembled for several more hours after that. I called my son, but he didn't get there for a few hours, and when he did, he was doing much better, but started trembling again when I got up to go to the bathroom. It didn't last long though.

Quote for the month:
You only need two things in your tool bag.
If it moves and shouldn't - Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and should - WD-40
lol I've always said it a bit differently. Only two tools a woman needs are duct tape and a hammer. If it moves and shouldn't, duct tape it. If it don't move and should.......beat it with a hammer til it does!! 3rd optional tool is a screwdriver........for pryin things open only. :D

Wahooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

So happy for ya!! That's gonna be an exhausting trip, but so glad y'all are getting to go!!

Also must add, regardless of our past national 'wrongs', name me one nation that has provided more freedom, aid, peace and stability world wide within contemporary history. Yes, we should have possibly done more/less and could have done better. BUT, NO ONE is gonna deprive me and mine of appreciating and celebrating our heritage, especially on my 67th Columbus Day!!!
Amen big brudder!!!

We have a population of 324,678,666 at da moment. And these are our options?!?!?!?!?
last 3 numbers may or may not be significant in that. ;)

(Yesterday). ;)
You stinker!!! We were wishin so many bdays and you just kept quiet!

Great opening line!!! The rest was good too. sorta pointing out all parts of it, but that's to be expected. One thing that I hadn't thought of before, caught my eye. Where someone had said that they couldn't let vaping take off and become glamorous like smoking had, then 5 years later if it proved to be harmful  try to stuff the genie back in the bottle. Hadn't thought of it from this aspect. I don't like it of course, but makes me wonder if stars who vape do us more harm than good in the views of some. Thinking back to how glamorous hollywood made smoking out to be.

We're all pretty exhausted and still have a lot of cleanup to do, but there was no damage to the house and our 4 giant live oaks are still miraculously standing tall although a bit thinner. so glad y'all had no damage and power is back on!!
