Thanks Gary, that was very helpful. Gives me a comparison of features and prices. I'm aware of mixed results of just accepting CR's recommendations. We usually gather info from multiple sources, make a best guess and cross our fingers. It's really the best you can do because even then you can end up with a lemon.

Hey Y'all! Welcome to any newcomers. Matt, I see you're feeling a little better. Finally made it back home. I've never felt so disconnected from everything in my life. I could just beat the juice out of buttheads who make things harder for the rest of us who are following the rules. I doubt if I'll ever catch up.

With that being said, let me stop complaining. I'm home. I made it safe. I'm alive. Yep, I have lots to be thankful for.

I say that because the end of this work hitch was really difficult for me. Before I got this job that I have now, I used to drive nights delivering parts for the helicopters. Tuesday afternoon, I got a HUGE shock. I'm still friends with all the drivers that I used to work with. Shucks, I see them every week since they deliver parts to my base. Tuesday afternoon, I got a phone call that one of the drivers had been killed in an accident while returning home from Galveston. She was the sweetest lady ever. She never had a bad word to say about anybody.

Some jerk was driving in the total opposite lane over this huge bridge that spans the Houston ship channel. I know the area well. I've driven it hundreds of times. You can't see diddly until you get to the top of the bridge. She gets to the top of the bridge, and there he is. She tried to avoid, but it was a head on collision. BAM, she's gone. I had a major melt down over it Tuesay night. I worked with this woman. She was a doll.

Sorry y'all. I'm not trying to be a downer. Just hurt, frustrated, mad and sad.

Awww {{{{{Roto}}}}}, I'm so sorry. It's really hard because it was so sudden and what makes it worse is that it was senseless. I hope you can find comfort in the good memories and knowing how lucky you were to have known her.

jeez, how am I suppose to occupy my time during this change over?

Well, it's just (JUST?!:shock:) ECF, not the whole web, so you can always go vape shopping...

Deb, are they going to give us links to the new site or is this one just going to be magically different?

Just a matter of giving the new home page the same address when the time comes, so will be "transparent" to us. And I suspect they'll have some sort of place-holder / info page in that place for the duration.

Tension and stress can certainly cause heartburn......and can also cause things like knee pain just from tensing up. Kewl that you noticed it though.

Tension and stress can cause (and / or exacerbate) many things in our bodies. Think blood pressure for openers.

I get the same thing from work, and I'm getting a feeling that the new format will do the same. Automag owners.org changed formats 2 yr.s ago and it drove me to drink getting comfortable with it. So I got lots of aspirin, beer, & ammo to relieve the stress. Bring it on!
Hey will this mean new Hi-tech rockers? Memory foam cushions? (no,wait. no cushion wants to remember my ....) Yes folks I'm back from the dead.

Good to see you back, RaM, although with your impending stress levels and supply of beer and ammo, I'm glad you're on the other end of the net!

Sorry to hear of your loss, Roto. Never a good thing to hear, and especially stressful when so unexpected.

Roto, I am sorry. It's hard when you lose somebody close even if they are just a casual acquaintance. It brings our own vulnerability to the forefront. She sounds like she was a very nice person and maybe we'll see her again someday.

OK! It's hot outside, humid too... Maybe I can wait for summertime!

jeez, how am I suppose to occupy my time during this change over?

Thinking 'bout dropping off my LT 'puter for a 'health checkup' and keyboard replacement. Just hope it will be announced when the change over will actually occur.

That's when I realized that I hadn't had heartburn the entire time my son had been gone.

I tend to get physical symptoms from emotional stuff. I don't like to call it psychosomatic because that implies the physical pain/damage isn't real.

As noted by others, stress can be a major contributor to physical issues! When I finally retired, I couldn't believe how relaxed I became and some of my aches and pains diminished. It was as though a great weight was lifted off my 'shoulders'. Apparently, I had put much of the pressure on myself.

Sorry y'all. I'm not trying to be a downer. Just hurt, frustrated, mad and sad.

Hey, we have broad shoulders, open hearts and are here for you!

From da porchers...

I wasn't sure if I should subscribe as I won't be 65 until September. Hence the lurking comment.

Hi boomer! Welcome to the porches (there are 2, front for vape stuff, back for anything goes)!! On my phone or I would post a link to the other porch - where am I? . Lots of good people here who will give you a warm welcome. Boomer is a long time friend from the Natural Tobacco and home extractions threads.

Glad you mosied on by. Pull up a rocker and make yourself at home.

That I am, but I'm tempted a lot by some fine lab juices. GeJ's Bull Durham to name just one. Now that Ahl is back with some of their fauxNET's I'm springing for a few of those too.

Welcome boomer. You are from the dark side eh - one of those NET users. :vapor:

Boomer,
Supposedly the limit is 55 or older but we have plenty of younger too. Nobody is checking ID cards around here.

OK! It's hot outside, humid too... Maybe I can wait for summertime!

Stopping by before I get my day started!
That is so very sad and tragic! Any charges for that truck driver?

My friend WAS the truck driver. Actually it was a cargo van she was driving. I was told last night that the driver of the wrong-way vehicle is in critical condition at the hospital, and if he survives, he'll not walk again. It appears this accident was not his first driving on the wrong side of the road. He's been charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Thanks for the listening ear, friends and the support. It is much appreciated. I was bracing to attend services, but I was told last night that she will be cremated. Her body has not yet been released, as she was an organ donor. Typical for her...she was a giving type person.

I'm at that age where I've rather learned to make peace with death after the initial shock. I had a conversation with her out loud this morning and told her what a joy it was knowing her and that she was a class act. Then I asked the good Lord to envelop her family with love and comfort. It's the only way I know how to deal.

I was thinking of sitting in Cinire's lap. Guess not. Okay, I'll take the one with training wheels.
No problem boomer! Just don't squish me ;) (I am not very big). pull up a chair, sit on the floor! And as already stated, no one checks IDs and we do have a few young 'uns that check in from time to time (now would be a good time for Cavenerd to pop in...). Where is that young whipper snapper anyway? Just because he is busy with work...

Actually sounds like a pretty good way to deal with the loss. The hurt and loss never really goes away, it just gets put into its place. Gone from your life, but never from your heart. {{{hugs}}}
