While I can't offer up any appliance tips, (although I did tear down my dishwasher a few weeks back and repaired it) .. nor recipes, etc .. what I can do is offer up a brief rant .. I stole this idea from some show I was watching the other night .. can't remember if it was Fallon, errrr .. at any rate :
What happened to kid raising these days .. ?? It's all about cater to the kids .. the parents are living for the kids .. and it's helping produce plenty more of the "entitled" generation .. just what we need .. "Little Wheezer needs to go to soccer camp, he only eats the GREEN M&M's, don't even get near a peanut, Dance Lessons Tonight, Immunizations are BAD, He/She will Only Eat (pizza, nachos, fries, shaken not stirred) .. etc, etc, etc ad nauseam ..
When I was a kid, you walked to school and back (and no, I'm not claiming thru 10 feet of snow uphill) .. you got home and did what homework you had and then it was out the door .. Hell, my parents could practically say "Come home in August" during the summer vacation days when school was out ..
Now, they live on a video game or on line, imagination is becoming a thing of the past .. and the mouths on some of these kids .. I was at the Walmart the other day and some kid around 9 or 10 was just letting lose like a Sailor with his parents right there .. and they tried to just gently talk him down from the fixation he apparently had over some $60.00 software game .. I was embarrassed for them and almost had to restrain myself from saying something ..

Just remembered, Percy Sledge passed this week .. one of the great Soul voices and singer of what I would consider the most played Wedding, Prom, Reception, Anniversary etc song ever recorded .. TxTumbleweed used to call this kind of music "Belly Rubbing Songs" (because it's a slow dance, get yer head out of the gutter .. )

"How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all", which was Firesign Theater, too crazy for me then, which was not an easy task to accomplish, and too crazy for me now.
But that's not why I gathered y'all here this evening. Just as I was headed out the door to work on my tractor and/or do some weed-whacking, my neighbor called and asked if I needed to go to the store and if I needed my yard mowed. Happy to part with some cash to get those things accomplished, and got some garlic too. And other stuff.

Oh yeah. T-rex. But I've evolved with the music, 5 finger death punch, volvbeat, and tons of new artist. 5 finger DP has a song called "wrong side of heaven" It has a lot of stats on the homeless vets and how we've failed them. It hurts, cause I was almost one of them. "There but for the grace of God" I've been so close.

I luv ol' clocks! Bought three in Germany and got two to run fer quite a few years. I'll be handin' down three now inoperative collectors items. Just can't find any local artisans to repair 'em, regardless of cost.
Ol' clocks are both marvels and a bane! Thank goodness fer retirement; other dan doctor appointments...
