Me too, Iffy. I grew up on a farm and we would cut our own Christmas trees. Sometimes they were cedar and smelled just wonderful.

We have several cedars growing on our land, and bring branches in now and then to freshen up the house. I suppose I could peel some bark and send it :)

I'm not likely to visit that cousin even if she does still live in Temple (long story, not particularly interesting... she's a "kissin'" cousin not actually related to me and has only been to that one reunion) but if I'm ever planning to go to TX I'll let ya know! Doesn't matter what part of TX since it's kind of a small place, right?

Compared to Alaska... which, if cut in half, would make Texas the THIRD largest State... (Fire resistant clothing ON!)

I am just curious - Gas here has gone up quite a bit over the last few weeks - about 30 cents - how about your areas...

First part of the year we saw big drops, then March saw it going back up, but it's dipping a little here ATM.

I haven't flown in about 18 months, and will have to, this week. Has anyone flown recently? What's the deal with batteries? I keep seeing warnings on airline websites that Li Ion batteries are a hazard ... Advice?

Saw a news item a few weeks back that some airlines were recommending that batteries NOT go in checked baggage, but in carry on. Maybe go online to your carrier's site and see what they say?

David is correct. Batteries in Cary-on. Preferably in individual containers... Amazon sells some fantastic 18650 cases. They are clear, will hold 2 18650s or 2 18500s or 4 18350s
But whatever you store your batteries in is good.
If you have a mod with a non-replacable battery, turn it off and put it in a ziplock Baggie.

Mike did the weed and feed on the front lawn and it worked so well that EVERYTHING died and we had nothing but dirt! We went out to rake up the dead stuff and discovered we had no grass out there at all. Mike has been trying to grow a real grass lawn out there for years. I think that would be nice, but unless he's willing to pay attention to it every day with watering, feeding etc. it ain't gonna happen. He enjoys trying though and it is good exercise. 3 acres of weeds and seeds though will revert it back to weeds in no time. Save the effort and expense and just mow the weeds. At least they're green.

I am going to be seriously upset (Well maybe not all that upset) if the whole front lawn dies. We are selling the house and I don't have time to grow from seed. Only fix would be sod and I can't afford that!

If you buy your batteries from Orbtronics they give you a really nice 2 battery box with them. I imagine that they probably sell them as well.

Thanks for your help. I saw posts from last October that said to put batteries (and all else) in a carry on. Looks like that hasn't changed. Robin01 also said she puts her mods on top of her purse to go through X-ray - and uses mods as battery cases. I'll bring an extra mod and put a battery in each. Think I'll also just bring an empty tank to avoid worry of leaking. I'll let y'all know if I have any issues!

West Texas is nuttun' but miles and miles of nuttin' but miles and miles!

Our gas has hovered 'round $2.50 - $2.65 recently. Since I do some shopping at Winn Dixie and participate in their gas savings program, last week I bought 20 gallons fer $1.75/gal.

Banner day dis AM, gave out two ECF cards* before noon; one at church and da other at brunch! Both folk want to get into DIY.

* Apparently no longer available; ECF Store is closed...

I've had around a dozen batts and 1/2 doz PV's in my carry-on multiple times when flying. Haven't had any issues with it. I know Southwest says not to pack lithium batts w/ checked-luggage, that's what we usually fly.

A little paint can do wonders.

Janet - How long did it take the Weed and Feed to kill the lawn? Just curious so I can watch for signs of impending doom. ☺

Matt, it wasn't one of the weed and feed treatments. We had an extreme dry summer that pretty much wiped out what grass I had growing in the front yard. The following year was a crab grass bloom and totally took over and dominated the yard. It even choked out all the other weeds and clover. I used this product and within 2 weeks the entire yard was brown. I waited a couple more weeks for it all to really die out. Then raked it, and re-seeded that fall.

The weed n feed stuff is pretty good. As long as you know you only have "some" weeds. :) I useta use scotts stuff when I was into lawn n' garden fanatiking. :) Thatz back when I still could bend. (Now I kin still bend a little but the problem is un-bending. But I digress.)

If it does look like the whole thing is dying it's really not too late to re-plant. Just grab some rye grass seed. really cheap and grows fast. You'll have a lawn back in about 2 weeks if you keep it watered well.

And then you get to start the process all over. The paint looks good, but I've long been an advocate of green cement. No need to mow, feed, thatch, just repaint every few years...

California - in the desert areas - had a trend a few decades ago of using green pea gravel for yards. From a distance they look just like yards - touchup every couple of years...

Believe me, rye is in the plan. Gotta wait until we get a good rain and wash the Weed and Feed in first. It'll burn the new grass if you don't. Sod is really nice but it ain't gonna happen. Instant lawn.

On a vaping topic. And related to older folks as myself and the lady in this vid.
I watched lots of vids on youtube about how to rewick your Evod/Protank/T3S coils. The one below is the one I like best, works great and very little wasted materials. A bit long but worth it if you want to rebuild your Kanger BCC coils. I build mine like in the vid. get 1.8 - 2.0 ohms and vape fine on straight 3.7 ego batteries. The stock 1.8's I bought tend to burn a bit on straight ego batteries. Also no leaks or gurgles so far with me using Her method.
