My wife had hair to the back of her knees when I met her. When she came to the states - she went with her new (soon to be ex) friends to the beauty shop to get a trim and came home with her hair to her shoulders - I told her to tell them to put it back... Never got that long again - she says it is to hot to wear like that...
mine was 1/2 way between hiney and knees until I moved here to sil's house 2.5 yrs ago.

I got married in 1979 in a pale, lime green leisure suit. Complete with cheap hotel pants (no ballroom). They were so tight that when I pulled the wedding ring out it flipped out and rolled under the Justice of the Peace's couch. Gotta picture the Judge and I on our knees under the couch with our butts in the air looking for the ring. Funny now, not so much then.

That made me laugh. Dude got married in a leisure suit. I was wearing a light blue mini dress. I tell my kids if they ever get too full of themselves, just remember their parents got married in polyester. They cannot believe the things we wore in the '70's.

For anyone using chrome.......just found this post.........tried it and after a bit of trial and error, I have a color scheme that is not so hard on the eyes, and it doesn't mess up my smilies.

For Chrome, here is another one to try: Care your Eyes - Chrome Web Store

Lets you pick your background and text colors, and doesn't seem to hack up our precious smilies. Also has a night mode, which is sorta like a black forum skin.

Just searchin' for the community... I don't mind the bright default schema.

Unfortunately your not exactly on the way. I wish you were because I'd love to stop in for a short visit and finally meet some of my forum friends face to face. I just don't think Doree would believe me when I told her that I took a wrong turn in Albuquerque!
Albuquerque? Turn it south and come visit with me!!!:D

My daughter wore one of my leisure suits to a 70's dance at her high school. They all had to dress authentic for the dance - she was the only one to show up in a leisure suit - I should of sold them back then - gots lots of interest after that...

In 1974 I was more of a Santanna, Black Sabbath, Rare Earth, Cream, and Pink Floyd - still cannot get enough of Dark Side of the Moon.

I can pass on Black Sabbath now adays though. To rough on the ears now...

Never got deeply into Rare Earth, but the rest of those... especially Cream...

OMG! How long have you been married that 12 years of it was blissful!?

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::pop:

oh my - we dropped the fish talk for vintage suits. OK, I'll fess up too, I didn't have a lime green or yellow leisure suit but I did have a blue swede similar to this one.

edit: opps, didn't realize the pic would be so large.

I am both shocked and dismayed that I present in a fashion that would imply that .. I have the utmost respect for all the Ladies, just perhaps a teeny bit of a penchant toward the naughty .. ;) .. but, hey, don't we all, brotha .. ?? (sorry Janet, just speculating, however, if a VW Microbus could talk, what would it say .. ;)) ..

Easy answer .... what happens in the bus, stays in the bus.

From Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Supertramp, Tom Petty to the Pet shop Boys to Maynard Ferguson and BB King I have quite the eclectic music collection. I like just about everything except hip hop and most rap (do you call what Kid Rock does sometimes rap?). One of the main qualifications for me to listen is quality. Music has certain rules and they are there for reason (don't ask me what they are, I can't sing a note or play anything other than a Jew's harp) and the number one I you should be good at what your playing. When I'm listening I can hear when the artist knows what their doing. Some "big" names are clueless and some "unknowns" are outstanding. I've even got a bluegrass band out of Alabama that plays Metallica music. They're great and it shows that Metallica are good musicians because their music translates well to other formats. I will post some of it if I can figure out how.

Evening Fran - kind of worn out tonight. This babysitting the grandson sure can be tiring. But, oh my ... it's a joy. The weather was real nice this afternoon and I took him for a long walk in his stroller. How nice it was.

I think I can see you in that fine sartorial outfit there Mike. Are there pics out there that might be used to demonstrate it's splendor? :headbang:

It was a beautiful day here as well Mike. However most of my work was indoors. Got the backsplash in the kitchen sealed and the outlets replaced and reinstalled in the walls. To top it all off, Doree found out what went bang in the night last night. The kid was moving the last of her stuff out of her room and apparently didn't close the window properly when she left and the wind blew it open. Broke out of the frame at the top where you release the clips for cleaning. Found it smashed this evening with glass all over the floor. Going to have to take it to the glass shop tomorrow and see if it can be repaired. It's a dual pain low e glass and this model hasn't been, are in 20 years. I don't know what I'm going to do if they can't fix it. :-x
