Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Three

When Janet and Mike began the "Journey to a New Kitchen" .. I intentionally held back adding to the narrative since I thought it best they let their story unfold first .. I will now add to the Kitchen Narrative ..

I spent 6 Months living with no Kitchen .. a hot plate, a microwave and an electric skillet set up on a table made from 2 sawhorses and a door became my friends .. why 6 Months .. ?? I decided I wanted to pretty much do it all myself, I had no one else to worry about but me, there were a few various glitches that happened along the way, at the time I was still spending time on the road and what not .. so, as follows :

Good that DH is in a Hospital and getting care.

Have the problem around here with some people adopting the "oh it will be alright" for most ailments.

Water boiling at 100C ( yes yes depending on atmospheric pressure) sounds more even than 212F.
I still use feet and inches for height of people though , cm doesn't seem as earthly for height of people.

Doree and I call that lamp in the middle of the room a "nipple lamp." We've put in three of them so far in brushed nickel. The ones we got hold 3 bulbs. We used LED bulbs and they are nice and bright while not getting hot.

Well fer starters, I traded my wife my rocker for a chemo chair about a year 1/2 ago. So now I have a big recliner on my porch, more comfortable than a rocker anyways!!

When I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer...I also made the switch permanently to vaping just trying to get healthier all the way around.

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis! And congratulations on switching to vaping! It certainly has improved my health...and so has having such a fine family on the back porch. Laughter is the best medicine!

I would hope that if the Roadtrip made the rounds and one leg brought the VW Microbus load to my neck of the woods, it would not be the Neighbor in question that would be the draw ..

Of course your magnetic personality would be the draw! Have you seen "Austin to Boston" on Netflix? I thought of you when I watched it. It's about a group of musicians taking 4, VW microbuses from SXSW in Austin to Boston, stopping along the way for a few gigs. Quite entertaining!

I have LED's in some fixtures, others I still use the old incandescent or a CFL ...

I like tile, as you can probably tell .. I really did not want to spring for granite or what not and the look I was going for was Tuscany or some sort of Italian .. I learned how to do tile properly, I even bought a tile saw .. the cabinet fronts were made by the Amish and I made the backs .. normally, I would not mess with drywall, but it was a fairly small area that had to be re-covered and the drywall people wanted like a grand minimum .. and I know the "popcorn style" ceiling is apparently way out of fashion, but I like it so I went with it ..
