It is prettier than this cellphone amplifier that UW dreamed up for me in March of 2014:

Audio speaker tech is pretty simple stuff .. try this .. we'll call it the Bose Wave Radio idea .. which is based on a long speaker chamber convoluted in a small box .. take an empty toilet paper roll, cut a slot in the middle that your phone will snugly fit in and that will contain the end where the speaker is located .. then take two plastic cups and cut a hole in the middle of each cup slightly smaller than the diameter of the paper rolls .. insert one cup on each end of the role, then insert phone in slot, making sure the contraption will stand the phone upright and the open ends of the cups are pointed toward you just like a pair of speakers ... play a song or a test ringtone ..

On an even larger scale, the same thing could be done with the toilet paper roll and two half gallon milk containers ..

Blender, Cura and Slic3r are all free.
you can pre-order a TICO 3D printer for $179. not much saving up needed

Well, I still have to finish paying for the furnace fixing, and a little more to the IRS, but then it should be possible. Which should work out for timing, since it's looks like I missed the pre-order and they're not taking regular orders yet. I do have to try this though. It's been awhile since I've been on the front edge of any tech.

How does it fit on the phone? Maybe another picture with it and your phone? It looks nice, I just can't grasp how it interacts.
Hehehehe
I use the iPad to take the pictures with!
However, since it's a porcher asking, I will bend time and space and light to try to get a picture...

How is this?

I'm thinking the phone sits in the slot on the front of the concave side? (First pic.)

I will ask them if they will put up a contact site for you to get an e-mail when they are available... in the mean time, if you can get one for less than $200 that is good, go for it!! This one promises to be very good indeed!

Can I go back in time to Wednesday night and start over again?? First it was the speeding ticket. Then it was Animal Control. Now, I just got word my 85 year old father is in the emergency room. His blood pressure drops every time he stands up. And I've been up for 19 hours straight.

Ugh! Well, that's 3. You should be done now. Hope they figure it out quick and he's back home.

At the convention I'm at, a Chinese company is demonstration a 3-D printer and plans that can be used to reproduce an electric guitar in various shapes and configurations .. although it is a bit more complicated, in that it requires assembly and some metal parts, it's quite the crowd draw ..

The tech marches on, and I see another shred of what I have spent a lifetime learning being supplanted by another machine .. from what I can see, the evolution of this tech, the ability to improve speed, the larger, industrial applications which will eventually happen, is probably without limit ..

Then I am told folks are using the tech for weapons already .. what a World ..

But remember that there is another side to every coin. They are also using 3D printing to change lives for the better. I read an article the other day about high school students printing a prosthetic hand for a kid and the cost was less than 35 bucks. They are printing replacement bones for people too (not the high school kids, researchers). Pretty amazing.
