Well we finally made it over here. It's 65 degees what a diff. Thought we were going to get in a head on on a 2 lane highway. Guy kept coming and coming at us we moved over and then realized he had 5 Sheriffs on his tail. Still getting rested up but might try my Ti tomorrow.

You should have turned you rig around and joined the chase and had a little fun playing Smokey and the Bandits.

I gotta get off the computer. I tend to chain vape when on here. My throat is killing me and vaping does not help. Went to the Dr today. Storm came through first. Stopped on the way to mail a package to Bob via UPS. All the employees in the little strip mall were standing outside, smoking their cigarettes, stores were dark. UPS store guy came out. I said, guess not a good time to mail a package,eh? He said no, no power. On to the Dr. No power there (it's a small town). but his battery operated devices worked. He looked in my throat and said "not good". I was supposed to drive to Atlanta tomorrow to hook up with Bob and do 2 weeks of shows. Dr said "No way!!". So I am staying home. Dang, peeps want to meet Geordi!! Oh well, he will be a big hairy oof before they meet him (na, he will still be a squirt). I don't run a fever, ever, wish I did. Would burn this sucker out and I would be fine. Diagnosis laryngitis, but I suspect Strep with how inflamed my throat is. But with no fever, no red flag for testing. He did confirm that he is seeing lots of strep, as did Geordi's breeder, who is an ER nurse. "GET TO THE DR!!" she said.

Dr gave me a prescription for a Zpack of antibiotics, couldn't wire it in due to no power. I go to Walmart to get it filled, Walmart CLOSED!! The whole town is closed due to no power. OK, there is a Walgreens about 20 miles away. Off I go. I know there is a UPS store there too, so I can mail this package. Get to Walgreens, turn in my script, woman takes info, sorry, we don't take your BLUE CROSS insurance!! I would have questioned, but I was feeling too crappy and just wanted to go home. Got the package mailed and got home. Will get my meds tomorrow. Ibuprophen and Mucinex keeps me going for now.

What an afternoon. I feel like crap, but I will get better. It's only an illness, not something serious like others have had. Better I stay home and take it easy or it could turn into something serious. I kind of thank you all for making me stop and say, hey, slow down. But my vaping sure is on a holding pattern!!

Night all,I will be fine. I am grateful others with more serious problems are on the mend.

Not nice ... hope you feel better soon.

It doesn't appear that July is going to be my month. A little back story here.........roughly 18 years ago, I got a kitten from my sister. He was white from head to toe, so naturally, we named him Snow. At first, he was my cat, but as the years went by, he and my daughter developed a bond. When my daughter moved out of the house her last year in college, she asked to take him with her. I couldn't say no. I had my other cats at the time, and I knew she would take good care of him.

Fast forward to today. Since two weeks ago, Snow had been showing signs of illness. Shana took him in a couple of weeks ago, and the vet said he had a viral infection. Fast forward...a few days ago, he stopped eating and just kept close to my daughter. She took him to the Vet on Saturday, and long story short, they had to put him down today.

I'm heartbroken for her. I'm heartbroken for me. The cat never did forget me, and every time I went to my daughter's he came, meowed at me and always jumped in my lap for a little love, and then would go on his merry way. In true Shana fashion, she is waiting until I get home, and then she is having a funeral for the cat, complete with scripture, music, and God knows what else. I hate that I wasn't there, and butthead that I am, been crying off and on all day.

ahhh! So sorry for the lose of your furry friend. We have a pet cemetery in our back yard and I miss them all.

I got a bunch of templates and French curves and stuff someplace. I have an antique wooden drafting table in the basement. It's got to be 75-100 years old. It's a neat piece. The wheels to loosen it and adjust hight and tilt of the table are cast and look like miniature ships wheels. Janet's hinted a number of times over the years I should get rid of it. But I just can't even though I know I should.
I got one of those (& a few other neat peices) when I managed a storage facility. People would move their stuff out & either leave some in the unit, next to the dumpster, or come to the office & i'd buy it from them. I gave mine to my BIL who is a custom cabinet maker. He was delightled to get it. Wood & cast iron, Victorian style, very pretty, & in fantastic condition. There was a bit of rust on it & not one squeak. That's how I got my gigantic oak desk, oak hat rack, oak drafting chair, & steel bistro set too.

Didn't work. Dogged started yapping a few minutes ago and I take it seriously at night because she doesn't do it often. Got up and checked, nothing wrong that I can see. I've got some serious floodlights in the backyard, lights the whole yard up like daylight, nothing. Front yard is also well lit and on IR motion sensors, Nada there either. Stupid dog. I looked in the hangout but am kind of afraid to drop in because of the noise (Not you guys, me!!). Doree has had difficulty sleeping the last couple of nights and I am not the quietest talker as most of you hangout folks know. So I think I am going to pass for now. Enjoy yourselves and I will see you all tomorrow evening instead of late night tonight (this morning). I would like to make a date for it. I'll be there waiting at 8ish. Maybe earlier. Hopefully see you then.

We'll be there with clothes on......

right Gracie?!:D

Well they either used the wrong batteries, or pampered her too much, cuz Dancin is back in the hospital. Her heart rate is more than double what it should be, hangin out round 150-ish. So more prayers are needed that they'll find the button to turn her down a bit. That scared the crap out of her, but other than that she sounded wonderful! Seems to be healing really well from the surgery part of it and feistier than I've ever heard her! lol So keep her in your prayers, we're not quite done yet! Will keep y'all posted. Loves to all

Hope you can get your meds soon. Nothing like feeling bad & having to run back & forth to the Dr & pharmacy when all you want to do is hibernate till it's all over.

Roto...I', sorry for the loss of your beloved kitty but truly ( these are not meaningless words) the kitty was very ill and old and suffering so it was best FOR HER.I 've had the same experience a few years ago so I empathize with you.

Nermal...never say never:)I'm also 71 and when i had to "put down"my kitty Tiger Lily a few years ago I swore i'd never have another cat because of my age and what would happen to it when i was gone.

A few years later Tukii just walked right on into my home (a couple of months ago), starving, beat up and, as i found out a month later, pregnant.

So..never say never;)

And I've already made plans for her when I'm gone.

Im so sorry for you & your daughter, Roto! Losing these little ones that depend on us for everything is so hard. We'd all make it better if we could. [emoji8]

We talked MIL into getting a kitty 6 years ago - the first "pet" she'd ever owned. Finicky little imp from the pound, must have some Siamese because she can't stop talking  And of course they're now inseperable, and Mia has been a joy to MIL. And of course, Mia will have a home with us when the time comes, so that part's covered. (And while Mia and our cats have an uneasy truce for now, at that time they'll have to sign a full armistice!)

Yes, having plans for our companions is important, but as long as that's taken care of, it's all good.

My father was credited with inventing driven piling/floating slab construction. They use it to build multi-story buildings when there isn't adequate underpinning soil. That giant hotel in Abu Daubi uses it.
That is so kewl bout your dad!

Wow.....that was an adventure, glad you made it just fine.....and glad you can get ECF. Keep us posted! Unless you're visiting family or something, hope you can hangout

Better I stay home and take it easy or it could turn into something serious. I kind of thank you all for making me stop and say, hey, slow down. But my vaping sure is on a holding pattern!!
Dang darlin.....so sorry you had to go through all that. Was it storms that put the power out? If you go through vaping w/d do you have any minty liquid? That might help. I've also got a few recipes for some DIY throat soothers, things like ricola, if you have some herbal flavors. I don't have any or I'd make up a bottle and send em to ya.

done in 1/4th the time, and you have nice, shiny and clean frets ..
Brilliant! Love out of the box uses for things. Don't have any of those templates, and the only frets I have is if I worry bout sumpthin, don't think you can clean those, but it's still brilliant!

Doree has had difficulty sleeping the last couple of nights
sorry to hear that...hope your worries aren't rubbin off on her. Someone in that house needs to sleep. Might not be a bad idea for both of ya to get a checkup, have some blood drawn. Could be there is something that the contractor used in all the remodeling that is messin with y'all.

People food will lead to her being overweight. It has fer moi!
Do we need to put you on kibble??

and long story short, they had to put him down today.
I'm soooooo sorry sweetie ((((((((((Roto))))))))))) wish we could make it better, but only time can do that. Prayers for you and your daughter. Hope y'all can move quickly from the dirge to the second line!! Muah!

I'm seventy-one and couldn't stand the heartache of losing another. I also can't bear the thought of them being stranded if something happens to me.
Was gonna tell ya bout Tukki walkin into kay's house and makin herself ta home but kay beat me to it. Ya never know.

You should have turned you rig around and joined the chase and had a little fun playing Smokey and the Bandits.

And I've already made plans for her when I'm gone.
you aint goin nowherz!!!

Got my meds today. I stopped at the farm stand to get some fresh fruit and vegetables and heard a cute saying about luck.

"I will probably be at the airport when my ship comes in". Yep, sounds like me!:lol::blink:

Oh, and I posted on the front porch, but my prayers for Dancin are being boosted up a notch...
