Well I do also shake the head when you watch some parliament question time over here albeit very briefly as your switching through channels and you see them bickering like children.
Kind of nice to see that our politics aren't the only one run by little petulant children!:lol:

What an idiot! He is embarrassing to the political process overall! Geez!
The Republicans can't even stomach him. All because he has a TV show which caters to those who identify with unbridled corporate power.

Pardon me, if any are Fans, however, I never really understood the title "Celebrity Apprentice" .. in many cases (not all, of course), it seems to me "Nonentity Apprentice", "Unknown Apprentice", "Has Been Apprentice" might be more appropriate .. :) .. although I do give kudos to the Charity money raised ..

Speaker of the house over here got in trouble because she charged $5000 for a 15 minute helicopter ride as part of her free transport.

I thought whoever was charging $5000 for a 15 minute helicopter ride is more of a pilferer.

You ever tried maintaining one of those things or putting fuel in it? I understand $5000.00

I don't personally own a gun now, although I have in the past. But the day they totally take them away is the day we truly and forevermore become completely controlled by the government.
And yet, "totally take them away" is a fictitious boogeyman sold successfully to many by the NRA.

I'm so ......ed i thought that song was really about a horse running thru the desert:confused:

Great melody tho....
Never had any clue about the meaning of the song. I like this one quite a bit more:

The tragedy in Louisiana is another tragedy added to the long list of tragedies .. those that would advocate we all should bear arms as a protective measure for the Greater Good .. ?? Really .. ?? More guns won't solve the problem .. more guns will simply provide even easier access .. a determined and quick unexpected attack can happen well before the ability of a "Defender" is able to react .. and, you better be sure you've got a darn good aim, or you'll end up inflicting more damage on bystanders .. and before you poo-poo this concept as another left leaning rant from a, er, left leaner, I am a card carrying NRA member ..

Solutions .. ?? There are none that can fully work, 100% of the time ..

What you say makes sense. Even if somebody in the theater had been carrying, reaction time still wouldn't have saved the two that were killed. AND, like you said, you'd better be a darned good shot! I really don't know what the answer is.

All I know is that for a many years now, I've been vigilant. I always sit in a restaurant facing the door. When I come out of anywhere after dark, I always look under my car from a distance. I glance inside the car before I unlock it. I park in well lit areas. When I'm in public, I keep my head up and I watch everything without appearing to watch. I gas up with my back to the car so nobody can approach me from behind. Some of this comes from martial arts training. Some of it comes from commercial driving those years at night. I always got out of my truck at a truck stop or gas station carrying myself with an attitude that said, "Mess with me if you want to".

I had an attitude that Hey, I'm working stiff just like everybody else. If you need something, ask, but if you really think you're going to rob me, there's gonna be hell to pay because all you're going to do is piss me off. And, don't let me be having a bad night on the road................:-x

A weapon of any sort can be useful .. I carry an ankle blade most of the time when I'm wearing long pants .. other times, if I feel the need, I'll pack the heat .. and I'll tell you a story .. many, many years on the road subjects you to more than your fair share of possible run ins ..

On a long jog somewhere between Kansas City and West of no where, I blew a tire on the Interstate ... pulled over, got out and started to get ready to change to the spare .. within a few moments, a vehicle pulls over on the shoulder, I'm thinking it's a Good Samaritan, but, they stop at least 50 feet back of me .. I'm thinking "That's odd" .. it's night time, they have their lights on, I really can't see what's up .. I hear 2 car doors close and I can see the silhouettes of two people walking toward me .. the hair on the back of my neck stood up, my intuition kicked in and I pulled my 9 out from under the seat .. I yelled "Stop and identify yourself" .. no answer .. I chambered a round and fired it into the dirt .. said pair hightailed it back to their vehicle, pulled a U turn over the median and disappeared into the night ..
