Hmmnn...... seems to be a lot of Avatars I recognize on this thread. Think I'll lurk a bit and see what's up. :)

Hi line of smileys holding colored welcome letters.jpg Hiya Boomer!! Glad you're here. Pull up a rocker or lounge of your choice.......the purple recliner is mine though lol Grab a drink, and make yourself comfy!! and jup, we love stories.......real or otherwise!

Sitting out back with the hound while they are working on my kitchen countertops. Just saw a flock of various birds, crows, grackles and mockingbirds chase off a red tailed hawk. They were literally harrasing him so bad he had to leave. Pretty cool. He still in a tree a few yards down cause I can hear the crows still going on about it.

OK! It's hot outside, humid too... Maybe I can wait for summertime!

Man I can't stand grackles.....sooooo noisy. We have flocks of em in a couple places around town. They always hang out at the Mall, and have for decades!! I've been in this area 28 years, and they've been here longer than that.

We don't let people lurk in the bi pushes... Pull up a rocker and enjoy the ambience of the porch!!
Don't have to talk if you don't want too... Welcome!!

I gues that means you slept in today again... Good.

I slept in again today but it wasn't good. Just meant I'm still sleeping through this dang viral infection. Feel a lot better today but still have a ways to go before declaring victory. A weekend fishing trip might be in jeopardy.

Sounds like you really did take one on for the whole team... Hopefully the next couple of days go smooth and you still get your trip in...

So glad you're feeling better though! I had that a few months ago, and omggggggg i was sooooo sick. The only other time I recall being that sick was when I had a super bad case of pneumonia. I've had stomach flu before, but this one really knocked me on my .... for about 3.5 to 4 days.

Been watching the new season of This Old House and the kitchen they're building has that. Refrigerator with no freezer and a matching upright freezer with no fridge. Of course they're SubZero brand and I would need a 15 year mortgage to pay for them!

You mean they actually make a fridge with no freezer? Wow. And that would be me when it comes to kitchens - champagne taste on a beer budget.

Janet, for four years now I've had a french door fridge with a freezer on bottom and as far as functionality goes I love it. Having the ability to open just one or both doors of the fridge without having any vertical division of the shelf space is pretty handy. Having a bottom freezer took a little getting used to, but with the top baskets it's pretty easy to keep organized. I skipped the through the door ice dispenser, too expensive at the time, but the icemaker is about knee level, so not that big a deal. I love the way it looks in the kitchen too. One thing I looked for was making sure the bottom freezer drawer felt solid and well balanced on the gliders, they're heavy to start with, load them up and they're really heavy. Keep in mind the space you'll be putting it in, I was surprised by how much taller it was than my old fridge. Also wanted to add that curious little boys seem fascinated with the freezer door, especially if they know there's a popscicle in there, and they don't always shut the drawer all the way. :)

Good tip on the balanced gliders. What's the brand you have?

Hey Boomerdude! Welcome! Lurk all you want, but please feel free to just jump in at anytime. Topics flip flop around here all the time. We just shift pillows.

Hi and welcome, Boomer. Good evening to all. Finally got to the grocery store. Been putting it off since the weekend. The older I get, the more I hate going for groceries.

It's funny how normal RL activities change how I've felt about doing them. When my kids were little grocery shopping was an outing I looked forward to each week. Then for a long time it was a hassle to be gotten over with as quickly as possible. Now that I've retired and have gotten into interesting cooking I'd love to live over our big Wegman's store. Seems I'm always missing some odd ingredient and it would be wonderful to run downstairs and pick up. Of course I've never gotten over the fact that food shopping is actually 2 activities. First there's the shopping (preferably when the store is not crowded) and then if I could only figure out how to enjoy putting it away...

Honestly, get a gallon of cranberry-anything juice. Apple, peach, strawberry, peach... Any of them. It will clean the virus out of your digestive system and cut its legs off.

Actually, it's quite shameful for me to complain about getting groceries. I really am thankful for the food we have to eat. Not everyone in the world has that luxury.

Well I'm hoping for a big break through tomorrow morning. I was planning on leaving Friday. It would be nice to feel 'fine' for at least a day before head out. Hey, it's early spring - will still be plenty of fishing days ahead.

Now there's a suggestion I'll give a try. Thanks.
