Yep, that one's cute and I stole it, but it's not the one that came in the standard selection. This one will do, Thanks Iffy!

My avi to the left of this box shows the gray "no mood" button. It's also under my avi on the upper right side of this page.
So, how do I know if it's time to renew my ECF supporting member status? Don't you get some kind of notice? I can check out the ECF main page and check it out, just thought if somebody had a quick answer...

Janet, once you set up a Supporting Member payment it's all between you and PayPal. There is nothing relevant about the payment on your ECF account.

At PayPal there is a section under your account profile titled "pre-authorized" or recurring payments. (Can't recall exactly what they call that section.) The annual ECF Supporting Member payment will be listed there, along with the next date it is supposed to be charged and what bank account or credit card you assigned to make the payment. Check your credit card info in case you have an expired or canceled credit card assigned for the payment that needs to be updated.

About 5 days before the payment is to be made you will get an e-mail notifying you the payment is going to be processed.

And pretty soon we'll really be considered the old folks because we'll remember "the way it was".

I was in the grocery store the other day and I was having a conversation with another shopper and we started talking about prices and how much it hurt to go shopping each day knowing what prices were back in the day. I told her yea - makes Alzheimer something to look forward to...

Iffy~ I read your message - thank you so much!!! What a sweetheart!!! I'm trying to reply.
I'm confused with this new format. I can't see how to reply, only comment. Is that for everyone to see? You can start a conversation or write on someone's profile. Are these private?

I want to become a supporting member but, I don't have a PayPal account and don't really need one. Every where else I go that takes PayPal let's me pay with a credit card through PayPal services. Am I missing something here?

I think the issue that it's a recurring payment has something to do with it.

I snuk online to go into the hangout, and I get an error, so If anyone can pop in and let whoever is there know....
I was hangin' out there with Deb and Runamok. We were all in the ECF forum too.

Are you mixing up Supporting Member with Verified Member? You don't have to be a Verified Member to use Paypal to pay for a Supporting Membership.

dear lord where did you ever buy smokes for 6.50 the last pack I bought was mid February of this year and it was $13.00 and in the nursing area where I work (mental health facility) smokes are going for $5.00 a piece- there is currently an admin crackdown on tobacco use-long story. I have started to make my own juice a 30 ml bottle here is $20.00 to $25.00 and that is just to reminiscent of smokes-smoked a pack a day for over 40 years - once I found vaping I dropped the tobacco - tasted like crap to me-don't even like tobacco flavours
Welcome to our humble but spacious abode! I guess things are more expensive north of the border, but you're going to save beaucoup bucks making your own joose.

Yep, I see 'em!! Looks like I got a whole mess of them 49 minutes ago. So, what are they good for? Is it just for info, like a post count or do we get a prize - like a new PV??????? Are there prizes? Huh? Huh? Huh?
10 ECF points, plus a dollar or two, will get you a cup of coffee in many locations.

Just click on the reply button in the lower right of the box you want to reply to. It'll open up the reply screen with the original post already in it. If you click on the quote box it looks like it's operating like the little check mark did in the old thread. It saves them all and you can click on post the quotes and then answer them one at a time in your reply box. Hope that makes sense and I think I got that right.

Caro, I know I read your post somewhere back there and wanted to welcome you. Forgot all about it while trying to figure out the new porch. Geeze, all the chairs are here, but they're rearranged and I don't see Iffy's "special" cushion.
I think a pack of cigarettes here in PA costs about $7 now and between hubby and I we smoked 3 packs a day. Fortunately we found vaping and ECF 3 years ago and haven't looked back. It's mind boggling how much money we've saved even figuring in some expensive PVs. I mix our own juice so that's a huge savings too. We belong to the happy vapors club!

Thank you! I understand that part. I'm trying to send a private message. Iffy wrote on my profile page and I can comment, but can everyone see that? Is "starting a conversation" or writing on someone's profile page private?

Good question. Don't know the answer to that one yet. I hope private means private! I'm too tired to think straight right now, gotta get some sleep. Maybe someone else has tried this already and know something about it.

You mean Browser bookmarks for ECF pages? Ruh-roh...

ECF - Error
The requested page could not be found.

I got some sort of alert on Trophies .. but yet, I can't find them .. ?? What good it a trophy if they are not on display somewhere .. ??

Ok, I'm getting a better idea of what is going on here. The system seems to be struggling with converting the old URL's to the new site URL's. It appears now that each forum has a "forum number" assigned to it. So,

Exactly. Word on the Tips forum is that the reindexing will take a "long" time, no definition of long given, but as we've all seen throughout the day, things seem to be re-inserting themselves over time.

Conversation is the new name for a PM :)

I just quit last August. I was buying by the carton, but it was about 64.00 a carton. So that's 6.40 a pack. I had cut back to a half a pack a day, until I retired 4 years ago. Boredom & stress over illnesses brought it back up to a PAD fast! Not good on a limited income. I just got my first DIY nic. I'll order more nic before I start getting equipment & flavorings. I've not been able to vape tobacco's, either! What's up with that? :?: I'm ok with it, but so far I haven't found anything I like except custards, especially bourbon custard's. But I'm not a bourbon drinker. :?:

In theory... what used to be PM's are now "conversations" and are supposed to be private.

What used to be Visitor Messages are now "Profile Posts" and are public.

Fun With The New Semantics is giving me a headache here. :-x

So is trying to figure out what the heck is going on with post order. Like when I post this, it's gonna show up on the bottom of this page, followed by "new" posts - that are older than this one...? Anyone else notice things like that? Posts used to be in strict date/time order. Now I can't figure out what it's doing here with order sequence of "new" posts.

If you click on "Support ECF" near the top of just about any ECF page, you'll see a message that gives instructions for being a Supporting Member. There are two ways to pay using Paypal. The first is a recurring yearly payment of $24 but the second is a one-time yearly payment of $24.

I was with you up until you said "answer them one at a time". The multi-quote allows you to answer them all at once.

Yeah, as someone else already said, what used to be called PMs are now called Conversations. They're private, but you can now "like" a private message (conversation).

The posts are still chronological. However, your post is presented TEMPORARILY, TO YOU ONLY, as a post that's out of order, so that you don't have to backtrack to see posts that came in after you started composing your post.

You know what I don't like about Likes now? There is no context provided. Under the old system it quoted at least part of what you said in your post that drove someone to like it. Now... it shows nothing at all. So you can see a stream of 50 likes for your Porch messages - and have no idea what posts(s) people are actually responding to unless you click on the individual likes. You want to see what people are liking, not just a big pile.

That second option has never worked. No matter what you select it takes you to PayPal and sets up a recurring payment.

If you go to the top right avatar and open it (click), scroll down and you'll find a link to "Likes you've received", which is like the old listing of those. And if you want, you can turn that off in the Alerts, but then you might never know :tumble:
