Hope everyone has a great day! Today is my quarterly "Look See" appt. Hoping for good news!
You and Matt, praying and trusting everything will be fine! Be sure to let us know!! So glad you're popping in a bit more now.
Minimum wage rose above $2.10 an hour starting Jan 1 1976. (In 1975, minimum wage was $2.10 an hour). By Jan 1 1979 minimum wage was $2.90 an hour.
It was a very long time ago, so I could be off on some years, I know pay early on in my working career was 2.10 First "real" job was working 12 hrs a day in a cornfield detassling corn, but don't remember what the pay was, not enough for what we did!! lol
after I get back from bowling!
Used to love to go bowling! Really miss it now that I can't.
my doctor is telling me to have patience
Have you already had the cataract surgeries? Mine aren't bad enough for that yet, but SIL just had her eyes done. One did really well, the other one not so much.
I got to let Debadoo here what I hear when I say her name out loud - it has a ring to it you know - at least in my head...
hehehe I get so tickled that so many get a kick out of my name. You're just too cute!!
I am making some major transitions in my personal life-- so my participation here is dwindling. Only temporary.
Hope it all works out well and that you'll soon be back with us full time!!! Huggsssssss If ya need to talk/vent/anything, we're here hun!!
I'll check in when I get back to Texas next week. Thanks again for all your prayers and support!!!
((((((Sushi))))) so good to hear from you hun!! Can't wait til you get home!
I had a Cinco de Mayo previous engagement yesterday night, so, since I knew Google had not yet perfected the Cyber Margarita
Jup, I asked who brought the pitcher of margarita's, I was hoping Iffy would, but no such luck! hope they get it perfected soon! I make a mean margarita, but have nothing on this puter to upload it. we missed ya!
We had thunder storms
throughout the evening, so decided to shut down the 'puter.
Hope Ken and I didn't scare you away the other day. We didn't have storms, but got some good rain last night. Wind keeps pickin up now and then today, so we'll likely get some more tonite.
But, that was working in a restaurant with tips you didn't declare. Wasn't $40 the base pay?
Only if she was a waitress and tips weren't much! Even in early 80's I'd wait on a big family, who ran my legs off, left a huge mess, and be lucky if I got a dollar! and I was a good waitress. I still don't think that restaurants should rely on tips to pay folks' salary. Other businesses don't get away with that. A server in Tx, even now still only has a base pay of slightly over 2.00/hr that's horrible!! I think it's like 2.13 but not certain.
So I have now been directed to kiss and hug her 100 times a day (minimum) to lose weight.
you lucky dog you!!! watch out when she finds out how many calories some "other things" burn up!!
a fresh faced Butterbar just off the plane
oh my....you can always spot em, usually by the tiny authority and tinier brains!
