Glad to see you vaping happily! You have this avid reader curious - may I ask about your books and blog?
Sure, thanks for asking. The published book, Red Clay and Roses, is a "faction novel" that is a fictionalized true story. Part One is set in 1992 and Part Two is set in the 1950s-60s. It concerns women's issues and civil rights. Here's the Amazon link: Red Clay and Roses - Kindle edition by S.K. Nicholls. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.
Don't know if I did that right.
The other two, unpublished novels are crime fiction and psycho thriller.
My blog is an author/writer blog mostly, but I post lots of unrelated stuff on there too. It's sort of an everything blog.

I forgot to add the published book is available in digital or paperback from Amazon, and digital from Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Apple, etc...

I thought about it when I saw the pack this morning, but talked myself into giving the vaping another chance. My first try last night was awful. Worked hard at getting the right settings. I went shopping this morning and got me some flavors that had some vg and now I'm good to go. :D I'm a semi-retired nurse and a writer with one book published, and two novels completed. I'm at the computer probably 16 hours a day.:matrix: At least, when I'm not running grandkids around. I've never been a forum member before so bear with me while I learn. I have a wordpress blog, but it's a totally different editor. Happy to be here!

Welcome to the forum and especially to the back porch. Congratulations on the decision to vape instead of light up a tobacco stick. For some like myself. vaping instead of smoking was an overnight thing; others take a little longer to get with the program but in the end we all have the same goal of fellowship and not using tobacco any more. :)

Welcome to the porches Ms. Peach. Glad to have you here. Pull up a rocker and make yourself comfortable. You have come to the right place for support. As you probably already know, the front porch is for vaping stuff pretty much exclusively (notice I said "pretty much") and the back porch is for everything else. Although we'll pretty much talk about vaping anywhere. Make yourself at home and tell us a little more about yourself?
Hi Matt! A little? I do spend a lot of time on the computer writing novels and blog posts, but there are other things I like to do:
I grow flowers

today's flowers.jpg

like to fish
Biggest fish Susan's sailfish.JPG

and go boating. We just sold a 36 ft cabin cruiser
old boat.JPG

to get a 23 ft. Nautic Star (We named her Nauti Fantaseas)
new boat.JPG

I paint in oils and water colors and make jewelry from wood, stone (like jasper, lapis lazuli and onyx), gem (like amethyst and turquoise), and porcelain beads. I try to use natural materials. And spend as much time with my grandkids (three, two girls and one boy, ages two weeks to five years) as I can tolerate.HA!

I am looking forward to learning more about y'all, too. I'm horrible at recalling names, but eventually will connect names to avatars. Most of my free time is spent marketing my self published book, and when I'm not doing that I read indie novels or go to see indie films. I'm a member of a writer's group here in Orlando and read short stories in quaint cafes around town. I enjoy swimming in the back yard and at the nude beaches. I hate bras and swim suits. My family owns and operates one of the oldest and largest (and nicest) nudist resorts in the nation. We go out for a long weekend every couple of months. You can learn more about that here: Cypress Cove Nudist Resort And I avoid Disney World like the plague. My husband is a recovering alcoholic, (not so anonymous, 11 years sober, known him 9 and married 7) but I like taquila, Crown, apricot brandy and sweet wines.

That's pretty much all there is to know about me.

Hi ya Peach!. I notice you didn't mention cream cheese or mini marshmallows, what's with that? Welcome to the back porch and just ignore my whacked sense of humor. I'm a flack what can I say.? If you want to have some fun drop by "Deb's place" chat on google + , (links in here somewhere) and hang out in real time. We're lots o fun and have good shearing time. I agree with you on disney. Happy Camper's are found in the woods.

Welcome to the Back Porch, Seapeach. You should fit right in. After all, they let ME in. :p
Nice to meet you Rotowoman. I am going through major transition right now. My father just died and my daughter just had a baby. I cut my long blonde hair into a silver/gray pixie and put away the analogs.

So glad you are OK Legs! That must be scary.

Hope everyone has a great great evening. Overnight in Rocky Mount NC, then off to finish the drive to Manassas VA and set up for the 2 day dog show. Monday off to Gettysburg PA for the Belgian Tervuren National Specialty for a week. Busy busy busy.

Seapeach, nice to learn a little about you. You fit right in.

I cut my hair shortly before my mother died. I was already grieving.

Writing certainly helps in such transitions, doesn't it?
I started writing when my dad had heart surgery. In 92 he didn't want this story told, but during his convalescence in 2012 he told me to write it, so I did. My muse comes and goes. I haven't written anything beyond a short story in months.

Yay! Doggies. I love doggies. We have a pug and an adopted Australian cattle dog who is on Prozac for her fear of storms. It works. I love cats too, but allergic, so our's is an outdoor kitty.

It comes and goes for me. I busy myself with other things for a while, and then get back into it. Non-fiction, so I have a team of reviewers, and watch for their feedback.
What sort of non-fiction do you write? I use a team of 12 beta readers and still send my work off for editing. I want to have at least three crime novels finished before I publish one.

Seapeach,
I was born and raised I Daytona Beach and 20 years in the Navy moved me to Hampton, Virginia. 20 more years until it was time to move back to Florida. My wife (Doree) and I are prepping fora move down to Deerfield Beach as soon as we can get our act together for selling this place. Her mother is in assisted living memory care and we are moving to be closer to her. I am a 3 year lung cancer survivor and quit smoking cold turkey on April 9, 2012. On May 9th they took out the bottom lobe of my right lung, caught it early and no chemo or radiation was required. 3 years cancer free on the 9th of this month. Started vaping full time at the recommendation of my cancer surgeon and haven't even wanted a smoke in three years. Believe me if I can do it, so can you.
