There is no question about health improvements happening after stopping real cigarettes . I have strong reservations about the choices people make when choosing their juice.

I am not one of those who believes all e cig juices have much lower levels of diketones in them than real cigarettes.

The famous "Five Pawns" juices showed to have levels that exceeded those of real cigarettes & with thousands of e juice company's out there i am not gullible enough to believe they are the only one.

Any respiratory issues that may be shown to be an issue in the distant future will never be called "Popcorn lung" it will be related more to COPD and other respiratory diseases .

Many medical professionals believe it's the diketones in cigarettes that are a big contributing factor for respiratory issues.

With people consuming MUCH more juice than ever before with sub ohm and high wattage it's a concern .

If i was in my 20's and 30's i wouldn't care but at my age and living dangerously when younger i am paying for some of those decisions now with health issues.

I vape diketone free juices as much as i can to eliminate as much possible risk as possible

To each their own though

I do think it's the tar that contribute to respiratory issues in a big way.
I don't smoke and don't worry about all the carp that they discover or think they do in vaping. Nothing can come close to the damage I did smoking a pack a day for 35 years. I think the biggest problem is that some use 5 volts or 15 watts, and some need 100-400 watts for Gawd knows what. And to utilize all of the 100-400 watts, some need to drop the resistance to less that 1. I think that's a great method for releasing bad toxic chemicals, which are not the intention of vaping for a healthier life.

These auto insurance people are nuts. I get a bill. Hubby decides he'll go find his own. I call the insurance company and take him off the policy. The bill for $1700 is due next week (for both). If I pay the whole lump some, the price is $200 less. So I tell her to send a new bill and I'll pay it in full to get the discount. She says that I have to pay the whole present bill now to get the discount, then the insurance company will send me the balance back. That means mailing them $700 more than what I'll pay so they can mail it back a month later? She says she can't calculate me a new bill by next week, so yes I need to pay the whole amount for a discount. (what's funny is if I was adding someone, they could do that immediately!)
So I go onto my husband's cheaper insurance and cancel this one, and email her to cancel.

She says I need to fill out this form! (Or what?) I don't need to do anything but not pay. And won't have to live without $700 for 30 days to get that discount.

I call social security to get my check direct deposit. They insist everyone do it, but I've been asking for a year now. So of course the robot puts me on hold-then tells me the average wait time is 40 minutes! Do people actually wait that long?

so much to take in since I was here last. Sorry, my email wasn't notifying of responses. I felt quite rude at how much I missed. What are diketones? I just placed an order at Mt baker, for 160 us +$, which is over 200$ au for 16 30 mil bottles of pre made. Have not ventured into making my own juice or coils. But did find a site with pre mixed Nic/pg/vg unflavoured, to which I could add flavors. It would save a fair bit. And wouldn't have me counting drops. I'm down from 24 to 6 nicotine and not really inhaling. My lungs are pretty well screwed, excuse my French . But which brand flavouring? The watermelon is the trickiest. Don't care for the candied ones.
Not finding it hard to get supplies, just saw Australian nicotine available by prescription. Not going that route yet. Trying to keep it simple. Do like sub ohm for throat hit. Only mods I'll buy now will have replaceable, rechargeable batteries. But it's all become manageable, and ciggie free, thanks to the kind guidance of people on here.
Summer is on its way. First walk to the beach yesterday. Well, meandered is more like it. Got a bit puffed, but well worth it. Best brand of watermelon closest to the real thing?

fill out the form and send it back to them. my old agent said if i didn't that the home office assumes i am still with them and turns it over to a collection agency. think of it as divorce papers.--just do it/follow their rules

Our little generator kicked the bucket recently and we cant buy another one until we save up some money so I make sure all my batteries are always charged in case of power outage.

I've been keeping two in their battery case, 3/4 charged, as advised in the blogs but havent been using them. Sort of like a back up. The rest I keep charged up and rotate.

Is that ok or should I rotate the backup ones too?

Perfectly fine for storage, but they will lose a little bit of their charge. If you rotated them, they'd also lose a little bit of their charge -- maybe from 4.2 to 4.15. It's just what batteries do. As long as you've got enough charged batts to get through a few days, your plan sounds good to me!

Hope you're not in Matthew's path... This storm could be a doozie!

Still no landline. Can't seem to get anybody at Century Link except computers. This is kind of ridiculous outage since Friday. I got a letter from Tri West saying I have an appointment with a doc tomorrow downtown have no idea anything about it. As usual I think they are screwed up not the VA. It's with an internest. Usually they call you. The Pulmonologist I'm supposed to see called before we lost our telephones got an appointmen for December.

@Kaezziel, I couldn't like your post. In fact, I really dislike your post. She needs to start that trial protocol, like, weeks ago! I know you're weary. We will lift you up.

Trust me, I don't particularly like it either. Yesterday's meetings went well; pain management doctor actually listened for a change, dropped the oxy meds and switched her to hydromorphone for break-through pain. He also prescribed a lidocaine patch that should help. Then told us that if the pain continues to increase or doesn't get better to just send him an email and he'd send in a new script for stronger fentanyl patches. He doesn't want to try another nerve block, because the last one did more harm than good.

The meeting with Pharmacy Resource Specialist went well, also. She looked over all of our paperwork and assured us that we do qualify for Merck's PAP (Patient Assistance Program). She put all of that together with some more paperwork from the doctor about the trial and sent that off to Merck. She was very nice and understanding, and she assured us that she would follow through on the process for us. It could take up to a week, but she says it is often closer to about 3 days. Assuming that we get approved, we'll still have to wait for the meds to get here, then schedule an appointment with the trial group. They have to run a bunch of tests (blood work, scans, etc.) before they will let her start taking the meds. So, we continue to play the waiting game...

On a vaping note, I left the house yesterday to take the trip across town (at least an hour, one way) and all I took with me was my rock solid and reliable mechanical squonker with one spare battery and a full juice bottle in the mod (full of my Brickhouse Custard). I've switched the RDA to a modded Nipple RDA, and that made for a completely worry-free day... vape-wise. ;) I LOVE that thing! No muss; no fuss. Vaping the way it should be! :D

On the RR you get a full pension for both of you when I turned 60 with at least 30 years of service I had 36 years.

My sil was a UP engineer, had a heart attack & pace maker installed. After 18 years with the RR he no longer exists as far as the RR is concerned.

Kaez you are a powerful man. Hopefully the timeline of the process is turning in your favor. God bless my friend.

I wouldn't go that far, Semi, but I thank you for the sentiment. ;) I'm just trying to do the best that I can in the situation. I love my Bride, and it's as simple as that. I know that many, many of our Porchers would do the same thing in the same situation... I just pray that none of our Porchers find themselves in that situation, and that those who are can find a gentle and happy way through it. I'm fully aware that I am not the only one of us who is facing struggles with health (self or loved one), and I know that there are others here who handle their situations with a level of love and grace that humbles me on my best days. :) I cannot even begin to express how much I admire all of you and how much strength your friendships give to me. To say that I am eternally grateful wouldn't even come close to putting words to the feelings.

Thanks. Unfortunately we are in the path :(. The only good thing is we are about an hour inland. Our governor declared a state of emergency already.

Good to hear from you again.

Flying an issue, is it? Have a trip home planned.

Can't speak for international flights, but we've had no issues w/ domestic flights.

I have dual batt mods that are capable of 110 watts. I never use 110. I'm always about 13 - 15, depending on the juice. I use +/- 1.3 ohm coils. I also have 30 & 40 watt single batt mods & I still don't use all those available watts. Same coils & watts, but the dual batt mods last days longer than the singles.

If you are talking international I have used Korean and Philippine airlines, both have limits for the quantity of batts, but beyond that they are the same as domestic flights.
