@MikeE3 and anyone else who uses the K5 with the MTL adapters. Have any of you also tried the Prime and could tell me the difference. Also using the MTL adapters do any of you have any problems with flooding or have found a cure. I know that the authentic Prime Busardo recommends starting the JF at 1/4 turn but not sure that would work with the K5s. I know my authentic K5 has a tighter draw on the smallest setting then the clones do. Just thinking of trying the adapters again since I didn't jump on the Prime. Don't really want to spend $135 either.

The Prime is tighter at the lowest setting than my K5 with the smallest adapter (both authentic). I like a really tight draw and the prime makes me happier. I like pbusardo but he drives me crazy with his 'turns', if you watch each of his turns is about 1/3 of a complete rotation. If I open my 5 or prime 1.5 revolutions it's sweet with 50/50 juice. I have gurgle/leak issues with my 5 but think it's due to wick laying too close to the air hole. I've had near zero floods with the prime.

Honestly, the prime is a good tank but it's not the holy grail. If you have the coin to drop go nuts but I'm not so sure you will be $135 happier with the prime than the K5, just my opinion.

I'm not sure what thread it was in but someone mentioned about finding a insulator for the Kanger subtank mini base. Some of my bases are over a couple years old and the insulator is starting to show it's age. My search was a fruitless one finding that the only supplier was out of stock and also a couple bucks each.
I pulled out the caliper and began to measure the subtank base insulator then compared it to others I found mostly in the fasttech site. The Insulator for Taifun BT RTA Atomizer is almost exactly the same as the STM but the bottom isn't as thick as the subtank. Ordered...got them a couple days ago and they fit fine but the hole is too wide and the pin just slid out....now I have a dilemma. I have some copper foil tape used in stained glass that's 5mm wide and has a sticky side like tape, so I put a couple rounds on the pin and it now fits snug into the Talifun insulator, snug into the STM base and all is happy. I happen to have the copper foil around but one could use whatever to make the pin a but wider to fit inside the Talifun insulator. Now since the bottom now isn't as thick as the STM insulator you have to put the RBA into place first then push the pin to meet the RBA. There is a ever so slight space between the insulator and pin but IMO not enough to worry about.
So far the last day of using the new Talifun peek insulator in the STM base its been working fine but my STM rarely leak so I dunno if the copper foil might become slick once there is juice present but never-the-less I now have a bunch of new peek insulators for my STM.

Well I decided to get a couple MTL kits and give them another try since now I kinda need MTL. I'm thinkin maybe since my authentic has a tighter draw I might be able to use the large size on that one and the mid size on 2 of the clones. IDK I'll give it a try. This time I will try it before I put the coil in and see what kind of a draw it has.

... and when am I going to need any of them???

Phil, just wait a few mo' years. You'll eventually drop a DT on da floor and even if ya successfully get down to search fer it under da couch, it'll be too much work to get back up!

IOW, keep your spare DTs above waist level...

I use the middle sized airflow reducer and the K5 open to 5 dots. For me it's a nice easy MTL vape. I like my vape looser than a KFL-lite and my K5's set that way suit me fine. I ordered the Prime for it's size, not to dial it down to a tight draw. I'm hoping it's widest setting works for me ... if not Janet gets it, as she likes restricted draws like the KFL-Lites.

Yeah I hear ya Mike I like it a little looser then a cigareet thats where I go my Kabuki dialed in at, but enough so that there is a little resistance so it's not like your just suckin wind.

When you get your SXK's I'll know how they are. I've seen pictures of the Tobecco version but don't know if it's for sale haven't checked that site I even forget which one it was but you had to order 10. It was Alibaba and they don't have any either. SXK was supposed to be good. Its kind of a waste that you have to buy all 3 but oh well. I know what you mean about the size I like the little Kabuki when I stick it in my pocket.

I think they use to call it French inhale. Both my aunts used to do it with Luckies while drinking a beer. Their hair was yellowish above the forehead, That was at least 60 years ago. Probably longer, I was about 5 at the time but I'll always remember that. Sittin around my Aunt Tiny's house Tiny and Doris drinking beer, Oly, smokin luckies, sometimes they'd let me have a drink of the beer but just one. It's hard to do when you been inhaling all your life, MTL is hard to do unless you have a tight enough draw.

French Inhale (or Frenching as it was called when I was in junior high school back in the '50s) is exactly backwards from what I was describing: A mouthful of smoke released through the lips as you INHALE through the nose. The smoke travels to your lungs (by a circuitous path). Not a lot of the nicotine will be absorbed in the nose and sinuses from smoke because smoke particles are so much smaller than the aerosol droplets in vapor. This is why smokers (and "vipers") often hold the smoke in their lungs for extra absorption. It doesn't have as much effect for vapers since the large droplets don't get deep into the lungs. It does, however, look very cool (if your coolness meter is charged by such things). When I was 14 or so, a lot of things looked very cool to me that now make me wonder at my 60-year-ago 14-year-old self.

Just to get it straight, MTN is to take a mouthful of vapor and release it slowly into the back of the throat as you EXHALE through the nose. The vapor never goes to your lungs. However, the aerosol droplets discharge their load of nicotine quite freely to the mucous membranes in the nose and sinuses. Just give them time by exhaling slowly.

Some MTL vapers will INHALE through the nose while releasing the vapor from the back of the mouth to cool (or dilute) the vapor. This can sometimes help deal with excessive TH if it makes the vaper cough or choke on a strong vape. It's not the same as MTN, though.

Flooding? Increase power? Reduce your draw strength? A bit of both?

You know, I was going through my spare and extra parts stash today and I noticed the extra tips I have - shoot I have been using two tips (stainless) for the last six years - What and when am I going to need any of them???

I picked up a bag of DT's years ago when I noticed the chrome plate was wearing off the brass on my Pro Tank tips. I think they were the only plated brass tips I had. Can't imagine stainless ever wearing out so my bag of spares will probably sit in the box until I'm gone.

@bigbells Hey I discovered something on the SX G I didn't know before. If you turn the display completely off then lock the device the clock stays on in a dim version and doesn't shut down so you have a constant clock. Then when you unlock you can turn the brightness up to 2 again.

@2legsshrt ... well I'm double waiting now. My FT order of Prime clones is still on hold ... waiting to restock. When I ordered it said 'shipping in 5 days'. The was Nov. 1st. And my original from Originvapes that I ordered Monday morning when they said they were in stock still showed status = processing. this morning. I contacted them, and they said they don't expect them 'till the 20th of this month and asked didn't I see that notice when I ordered . No I didn't it wasn't there, but it's there now. Me thinks they oversold on Monday and now I'm on a waitlist with them too. They at least offered to refund me, but I'll wait. It is what it is.

I'm down to only 4 Ming drip tips. (got plenty of others) Why is it that I only doze off with a mod in my hand when I'm using a Ming!!!!!??
