Well I am finding that more people use it like you do Dave, which also could be an answer for me. Make some juice at say 14+mg with some type of flavorings and I would be able to vape it, which I can't do with freebase because it makes my lungs hurt. I know what the answer is and I don't like it. Stop vaping. Perhaps at 12 or 14mg I could still use my Primes with TC and get plenty of nic with a puff or 2. I never really thought of it like that. I was thinking of giving the Mr. Salt-E a shot, it comes in 25 and 45mg and has a warning not to be used with subohm attys only for low output attys with a low power mod, which is what I was going to try it with. But the Nauti Mini is still more efficient than the POD devices. They are very much like the cigalikes. The Nauti and the Kabuki which is just a glorified Nauti is much more efficient.

Does Flavourart make a decent Custard or Creme Brulee? Probably not your cup of tea. Where do you get yours from the factory or some place in the states?

I buy my FlavourArts flavors from the US and I've bought from several places, two of which are now out of business. My recommendation: http://www.ecigexpress.com/shop/diy-e-liquid/diy-e-liquid-flavors/flavourart-usa.html?limit=50&p=1

I haven't tried Custard or Creme Brulee. My favorites that I use regularly: Strawberry, Orange, Spearmint, all 3 of the Cinnamons, and one that I got fairly recently that I really like a lot, Yogurt.

There's also a new line from FlavourArt called Pazzo, that are designed as blends of various flavors intended to make mixing easier by getting a "complete" flavor from one bottle. I haven't tried any of them but they have fairly good reviews in the FB DIY group that I joined.

I refilled my toppers today, and ended up with a bunch of empty bottles. Then mixed, and ended up with more empty bottles. I was forced-- mind you, FORCED to buy more flavorings. Checked the DIY for what vendor is favored these days-- it has been a long time-- and ordered from Nicotine River. So that is my fifth anniversary gift to myself.

Well I've been doing somemore reading about nic salts, dangerous I know reading that is, but the idea behind it is you can use a higher resistance coil (kanthal) low power and use a juice that has 45mg/ml, which the store bought comes in, so you get your nic fix just taking an occasional puff and you don't have to puff a lot. So 30ml could last quite a while. Some companies make it as high as 60mg/ml. It's not supposed to be harsh at these rates. Sounds interesting. Might be just the thing for me to be able to take a puff and not have to do it all the time. The article I read said that using it at lower nic levels it is probably preferable to use freebase but at a level of say 50mg I could just build my Primes using Kanthal and lower power. Pretty interesting.

So if you were DIYing you would have to add say 45ml of 100mg to a 100ml batch, then do your flavoring and mixer like normal.

I'm kind of scared to try nic salts. I might like it better, so then what do I do about my freezer full of regular? Ditch it and spend a bunch of money restocking with salts? Or go on using the regular knowing I could be having more fun?

Think I'll just avoid trying it, or reading about it for that matter.

Nah, just stock up the salts, keep the nic to hawk on the black market to come.

@2legsshrt , have you tried not inhaling as deeply? I rarely pull any vapor deep into my lungs, vape 18ish, and get my nic just fine. :2c:

I can relate to the dilemma of having stocked up on something only to find there's something I like better. I've gone overboard on multiple things, not just vaping-related things, only to either lose interest or to find something else that occupies my attention more.

This is only a preliminary assessment, because I know how easily my thoughts change, and I know how easy it is for me to mistake "new" for "better". You've already witnessed how the word "salt" in nicotine salt caused me to erroneously perceive a salty taste. Plus, I've been using nic salt joose for only 36 hours, some of which I spent sleeping, and that's not nearly enough time to have established a valid opinion. That said....

.... my thoughts at the moment are that the "smooth" nic salt liquid from Nude Nicotine is dramatically smoother in taste than any other nic liquid I've ever used. I'm feeling compelled to order more before I finish the 150 ml of joose I made with the 15 ml sample that I got. If I continue to feel this way I'll just have to face the possibility that someday as far in the future as god allows, the executor of my estate will have to figure out how to dump 7 liters of 100 mg/ml nicotine freebase liquid that they find in my freezer.

These feelings have a 50% chance of being unchanged 5 minutes from now.

Congratulations to @Myrany (wherever she is) and me! Fifth vaperversary today. :D  :D To me it's a major milestone, the one I always thought, for whatever reason, would be the one that meant I'd really kicked the habit. I'm over the moon about it. I never, never, never thought I'd be quit for five years. Tried everything and all that. Thank you everybody for all the support. My victory is your victory. :nun:

I'm 8 pages behind and will have to catch up later. Was up to see the folks, raided my nic, great visit. Would have been without raising the nic though. Dad fell again as we were on the way to the airport, no one called us, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital next day. Luckily he only bruised his leg but has been mostly confined to bed since then. May have to go back up. Had a mini cold with annoying symptoms that are slowly disappearing but it was enough to delay surgery on my legs which are just killing me. We have gotten over two inches of rain the past couple of days with more on the way though. El Whacko says he barely survived his time at the kennel while we were gone.

Happy 5th Vapeversary!

@3mg Meniere, I didn't buy flavorings for a long time. I finally bought some recently. It's been wonderful! Enjoy!

@FlamingoTutu, 5 years is half a decade. That IS big! I hope your legs are all fixed up soon. Take care of yourself! And, tell El Whacko to stop complaining!

Vape hard and love your furry friends... I broke down and gave the pooch one tramidol. I can't stand to see him in pain. Good news - I got hired today. Much needed after $1400+ of vet bills. Bad news, I spent a good long while hugging the fur baby not knowing what was going to be in his future - near or far. Going to talk to the vet today. *sniffIvan.jpg (It's an old pic - when he was not so sick - <3 ) ...Poochie has systemic lupus (SLE). Sorry - zero to do with vaping.........

I made this half an hour ago, shook it for half a minute and I've been vaping it for the last 15 minutes. Tastes great to me, but I'm blessed with a hugely tolerant sense of taste. Due to using nic salt liquid instead of freebase nic liquid, I'm able to do DTL because there's very little throat hit, so I'm getting a nic buzz. I've opened up more than usual the air intake on my SteamCrave Aromamizer Plus tank. Pair of 3.5 mm diameter SS 316L coils, combined resistance 0.45 ohms, rayon wicks, TC at 40 W, 405 degrees F.... or maybe I just used a single coil... 0.45 ohms seems like it might be a little high for 2 coils. The nic content of 10 mg/ml is the same as what I've been mixing and using lately with freebase nic. The taste will only improve over the coming days.

Bigbells' Minty Blueberry Joose
15 ml 100 mg/ml nicotine Nude Nic “Smooth” nic salt liquid in 100% VG
12 ml FlavourArt Bilberry
3 ml FlavourArt Spearmint
120 ml VG
Yield 150 ml at 10 mg/ml nic, 10% flavoring, 90/10 VG/PG

Two things:
WOW!!! I never used more than about 2% flavoring in any e-juice I ever mixed and even then I had to dilute it after tasting it. (Of course, now I use no flavoring at all.)
I think your nic base must be in PG rather than VG to get the 90/10 PG/VG ratio you report. (And don't forget that in 15 ml of 100 mg/ml nic base there is only 13.5 ml of base; the rest - 10% - is nicotine, which slightly affects the final ratio.)

My EDV is 65 mg/ml (in 68/32 PG/VG). It's made from normal nic base (not nic salts) but I don't think it tastes harsh at all. (I do like a decent TH.) It certainly allows me to get along on a few puffs every 20-30 minutes rather than my previous chain vaping on 36 mg/ml. I only use a little over 1 ml of e-juice per day and it's cut my nicotine consumption from around 2.5 mg/day to less than 1 mg/day.

Good point on inhaling less deeply. You absorb most of the nicotine via the mucous membranes in the throat, mouth and/or nose rather than via the lungs (as with smoking). A slow exhale through the nose will open up your eyes for getting the most nicotine effect from your vaping. Be careful and take it easy if you don't normally vape that way; you can make yourself nic-sick if you are accustomed to a deep inhale and a fast exhale through the mouth, which lets most of the nicotine escape without being absorbed.

I have a friend with lung problems who can't tolerate inhaling any vapor at all. I taught her to take a mouthful of vapor and breathe out slowly through her nose while collapsing her mouth cavity (forcing the mouthful of vapor into the stream of exhaled air). It is slightly harsh in the nose, but it lets her get the nicotine without inhaling any vapor at all.

I've tried that from time to time. For me it improves the flavor. Especially with my favorite coffee flavor. I only get a hint of coffee exhaling through my mouth but it comes through strong exhaling through my nose.

Trouble is if I do it a lot my nose starts getting raw, so I only do it once in a while.

Pete;
I realize that with 100 mg/ml nicotine juice, only 90% of the volume should be counted as dilutant. In fact, I used to point it out when others didn't do the little bit of extra math. What can I say except I was lazy and imprecise.

However, my nic base is in VG. The 10% PG in the 90%VG/10%PG ratio comes from the flavorings. It's impossible to know how much of the flavoring is NOT "carrier", and I believe that even the e-juice calculators treat flavors as if they consist 100% of the carrier agent. I could be wrong about how the e-juice mixing calculators compute the components of flavorings, because I don't use those calculators. All of my current flavorings have PG as the only ingredient other than the flavor itself.

The actual ratio of my mix, because the amount of flavor in the flavoring is never known, but taking into account the nicotine, is 89%VG/10%PG/1%nicotine.

I hope you don't mind that I find it amusingly ironic that you, user of super-high nic percentages, with capsaicin-consuming abilities far beyond those of ordinary mortal men, find my flavoring percentage shockingly high.
