USPS changed their tracking system. Used to be you could sign up for notifications and you would get a notice each time the package was scanned. Now it's just ship date and expected delivery date. Nothing in between. Now I can't watch my package traipsing across the country any more :(.

Well fastech's living up to their reputation. 8 days since I got a 'your order has shipped' email, the tracking status is:

Status
Pre-Shipment
Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
Mine too. I've never had that happen before. Very frustrating. I'm used to not getting much tracking. But, I want to know that the package was at least picked up and started its journey!

The only way to keep your mental health when ordering from fastech is to make the order and then completely forget about it, and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up in your mailbox. I was astounded when I got my completely unexpected delivery from fastech. It seemed like I had ordered it just yesterday and there it was! (I went back and calculated how long it took, and it was the usual long time, but it seemed like like I hardly had time to blink my eyes.)

Oh!? - I don't remember how my previous orders tracked. This is only about the 3rd time I've ordered from them. And the last one was a very long time back.

The tracking usually doesn't change for me until it hits US customs. :p

I count out 12 days on my calendar, and forget about it until the expected day.

Over There
Retiring is hard to do. Been diligent about saving so that won't be a problem. But working is part of your self image. For a lot of people anyway. It's like a big step on the long downward slide towards the exit which is part of the second half of your life. Not really, but that kind of thinking does creep in.

I retired 2 years ago and took a part time job after 3 months because it seemed like a good idea at the time. The last 3 months of grueling hard work followed by a slap in the face from the GM cleared my mind a bit. Right now I feel really good about retiring.

I do have to replace the cedar siding on my house this summer. Babysit for the GGD. Repaint several rooms. Today I started replacing the exhaust fan in the bathroom, and a new microwave waiting to be installed. Lots of vaping stuff on the list as well.
Everyday one is alive is one less day they will be slive. Retiring is just another day.
You are and always are you. You define yourself. Put up tjo we shingles and be proud of a job well done.

What the heck was this kid thinking? Wait Puerto Rico maybe it was the water or lack of.
First of all I'm in my fifties so there's no kid. Secondly as of 1898 Puerto Rico has been part of the United States if you don't believe me ask Teddy Roosevelt. Doesn't anybody take history classes in high school anymore?

That's why I use USPS Priority Mail. It tracks it from each stop and system. I get my stuff in usually 3 to 4 business days. But this is ordering from the mainland. Not from a foreign country. Never ordered anything from overseas.

I don't bother to follow my tracking too closely anymore, since more often than not my shipments go up and down the Hudson a few times (passing within 10 miles) before finally getting to me. Makes me want to go cruise the Thruway hijacking trucks looking for my stuff!

Ok. That's what it did apparently. I guess that's the new way? Tracking usually lets me know that it's been picked up and preparing to ship. But, it never even let me know it was picked up this time.

It is now in the country!

You can sign up for informed delivery. Probably doesn't show anything on first class but on priority you can watch everything. You can even see pics of the mail that has been delivered today or any day for the last week. Then you know if you have anything important to go to the mailbox for.

Mine too! Except mine is San Francisco, not New York.

It might still take a month. But, at least it's not lost at sea!

Yeah, do what Legs said. Sign up for Informed Delivery, and you can get all those details again, as long as the package has a tracking number.

Sorry to hear that some of you are not getting great service from the USPS. Mine was decent, but recently it got better. I've been getting 1st Class mail from California in 2 days. (I'm in NC).

If you do the cycle calcs to how many batts you have in rotation (currently 9) and how many cycle charges they should provide - there is no reason batts at my usage level should not last 9 or maybe even 10 years. We will see.
I rotate 6, one had a dent in the bottom so had already quit using it. Since I charge them when they reach 3.8 something, and y'all know how I feel about math, no way I could begin to figger the charge cycles, since if you run it 1/2 way down to whatever, that's a 1/2 cycle, and PLEASE don't anyone start trying to figger it out for me........buying new ones is wayyyyy easier hehehe

I always thought the initial poor taste was due to skin oils from rolling the cotton between my fingers.
I cut that part off.

Just got home after my last ever day at work.

Pic of my workbench this morning. Nice drip tip on the Motorola.

well I know you were forced into it, so I won't say congrats on your RE-retirement, but my very best wishes for fun filled days.

I haven't worn my watch in awhile, since the battery died. Originally I justified it by saying "my cellphone(s) have the time" but it really boils down to "I just don't really care".
Jup. I have never been one to wear much jewelry, but always had to have my watch. 10-15 years ago my watch died (not just the battery), bought a new watch, and it didn't take long for it to go toes up. At that point I quit wearing one.

Well, except for my Reo.
do you still use the derringer on your Reo?

Due to using nic salt liquid instead of freebase nic liquid, I'm able to do DTL because there's very little throat hit,
Between this and legs' post below, no way it would work for me, I want lots of throat hit, but it just might be the ticket for my sil and nephew. Just earlier tonite I spent the last bit in my acct on some craft stuff, but will try to remember to order a sample next time I put some money in there. But amazingly enough I did recall that it had recently been discussed on the porch. Light bulb only went off tonite about sil and nephew.

Well I've been doing somemore reading about nic salts, dangerous I know reading that is, but the idea behind it is you can use a higher resistance coil (kanthal) low power and use a juice that has 45mg/ml, which the store bought comes in, so you get your nic fix just taking an occasional puff and you don't have to puff a lot.
quoted yours just as more evidence of what I was saying above to bells.

I think everybody knows this but I just want to make sure. Nicotine salt is a liquid, indistinguishable appearance-wise from the nic base that we're accustomed to.
well, I didn't know it lol I have heard other folks say they tasted a salty flavor, so could be, or maybe just power of suggestion like you said.

the executor of my estate will have to figure out how to dump 7 liters of 100 mg/ml nicotine freebase liquid that they find in my freezer.
or how to contact the person you will your regular nic to! :D

Congratulations to @Myrany (wherever she is) and me! Fifth vaperversary today. :D  :D To me it's a major milestone, the one I always thought, for whatever reason, would be the one that meant I'd really kicked the habit. I'm over the moon about it. I never, never, never thought I'd be quit for five years. Tried everything and all that. Thank you everybody for all the support. My victory is your victory. :nun:

I'm 8 pages behind and will have to catch up later. Was up to see the folks, raided my nic, great visit. Would have been without raising the nic though. Dad fell again as we were on the way to the airport, no one called us, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital next day. Luckily he only bruised his leg but has been mostly confined to bed since then. May have to go back up. Had a mini cold with annoying symptoms that are slowly disappearing but it was enough to delay surgery on my legs which are just killing me. We have gotten over two inches of rain the past couple of days with more on the way though. El Whacko says he barely survived his time at the kennel while we were gone.
Wahoooooooo to you and Myrany!!! and 3mg but I got her last time I was on on the back porch.

Vape hard and love your furry friends... I broke down and gave the pooch one tramidol. I can't stand to see him in pain. Good news - I got hired today. Much needed after $1400+ of vet bills. Bad news, I spent a good long while hugging the fur baby not knowing what was going to be in his future - near or far. Going to talk to the vet today. *sniffView attachment 729379 (It's an old pic - when he was not so sick - <3 ) ...Poochie has systemic lupus (SLE). Sorry - zero to do with vaping.........
so glad to see on BP that he is doing a lil better...........and what a gorgeous dog! Also wahooooo on the new job! Forgot to say that on the BP

Reaching 1 lustrum is a great accomplishment
Nice word! I won't remember it, but interesting

but did jump all the hurdles at the hospital, including getting stabbed by needles, and have surgery scheduled for the 28th so I guess it's a draw. ;)
(((((((((((tutes)))))))))) hope it went well today and that recovery is speedy and complete!

I'm taking 1/8 of a pain killer right now
whaddya do.........take it outta the bottle, lick it and put it back in???

How old are older folks? Do you allow AARP members in?
Is the age limit 50 and over?

I'm 53 can I hang out with you older guys and girls?
welcome to you!

Just an FYI...
well 2 out of 3 that you posted were great.........the last one PSS :D

Same for me but I know why. Usually by the time I get to the bottom of large tank the juice is dark and doesn't taste as good. A smaller tank requires refill more often but the juice stays "fresher".
just another reason I love not having to deal with tanks.

the one I am vaping is the only one that has juice in it...
jup same here, but I don't change flavors much.

Guess what I ordered?

way to send mr. power packin!

Ill have you know that not all of us old folks sit on the front porch and vape, some of us sit on the back porch. Thank you very much!!!
welcome to you too

My wife and I are back from several days in Savannah touring the historic district.
oh kewl! that's definitely a place I want to visit some day. Seems like it would be like stepping back in time.

hi guys very belated thanks for the congrats on the 5th vapeversary! I completely missed it LOL!

Life has been pretty busy and tough for me the last several months so I have not been around ECF much. I do think about and miss you guys often.

Since right before Christmas I have been dealing with my mother's declining health and eventual death (and all that goes with that). Things are slowly sorting out but it is taking some time to even get through the things I need to do. I haven't had much time to deal with the emotional side much yet. It will come when it comes. I have some high nic juice around for just that emergency.

I hope everyone is doing well and hope to be back with you guys on a regular basis soon.

MANY Hugs from an over tired and stressed purple kitty.
((((((((((myrany)))))))))) sorry to hear about your mom honey, but good to see you!

Did it come yet?
