Thanks @clnire ... did you get any specific one and where?
Mike, while waiting for clnire to return, I can tell you that most of us have the SXK Doggy. There is also an SJMY version that a few have purchased and like. It has a slightly more open draw than the SXK, but can probably be adjusted down.

I have three of the SXK version and have two more on the way, all from fasttech. Great flavor. I build them anywhere from 1.0 to 1.5 ohms and vape most at 10w.

$11.01 SXK Doggystyle Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3.5ml / stainless steel + PC / 22mm dia. at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

David .. how does the size and 'draw' of the Coppervape Skyline compare to a KFL-Lite. Janet still likes and uses the 'Lites' but is getting a bit tired of needing a screw driver to refill the tank.

I'm been considering one of the Doggy Style and now I've seen you recommend this one again. Also, at FT it comes with 2 airflow inserts but additional ones are sold separately. To get a draw similar to the KFL-Lite would I need to purchase the optional kit of airflow inserts?

---------------------

Anyone have both a Doggy Style and Skyline for comparison of likes/dislikes of 'em?

Have a couple Doggys, put them away shortly after acquisition. IIRC due to not a restricted enough air flow for me. YMMV, of course.

The Skyline has a lot more adjustment on airflow, with your choice of restrictor total ID and then the ring control on the base. Then again, if you have a restrictor that gives you your ideal air flow, just leave the ring wide open. :) You DO need one in (before coiling), or it will flood.

I have mine set so it draws almost exactly like my KF2Ls, maybe slightly looser, but not much.

Addition of juice flow control makes it a petty versatile tank.

Seems like they (FT) also have listings for versions that come with more, but I know they have packs of 5, all different sizes, pretty cheap.

Its fun to step back once in a while to appreciate the gear of today vs the gear of yesterday. Good ol kayfun is a great retro atty just like the protanks. Once in a while blow the dust off to remember the tight airflow dayz.
Kayfun a retro atty?! Say it isn't so!

@jistjul, welcome to the Front Porch! It sounds like you vape about like I do. None of the new fangled TC and dual coils.

No need to get all Freudian about tube mods. Just keep in mind how a newborn baby automatically wraps its fingers around it's mother's finger. It's a natural reflex.
Apologies for barging in like this - I tend to pounce when someone mentions unflavoured liquid!
Welcome to the Front Porch! Unflavored is one of my regulars.
I'll second trying a Skyline. Juice control, 2 ways to control air flow, top fill, big deck, 4 or 5 ml capacity and the best MTL topper I have for flavor. I like it much more than my KF prime.

I broke the glass on my first one before I ever used it. Ordered 10 spares and only have used the one that replaced the original...I'm thinking it had a microcrack or something.

Highly recommended!
Hey! Long time, no see! Nice of you to drop by!

Don't let the distance put you off, Pat. (Just be prepared to wait ;) )

I've ordered several (altho all from FT, not GB) and have had no problems. (Which, of course, is no guarantee, stuff happens...) If the maker is discontinuing the line, overseas may be the only source.

It seems as though a number of DNA75C mods are getting a bit harder to find. It's as if they just gave up and concentrated on the 250C. Shame.

As @DavidOck says, delivery from the likes of FT is usually OK (at least if it's in stock and not "ships in X days").

Here's hoping that holds up - I've just ordered a VT75 Nano!

Yeah I saw them there also but this discontinued at several places makes me wonder. Plus I've never bought a mod direct from China.

I always look for stateside sales before I head to Fasttech. No sense waiting longer for a couple of bucks difference. Every once in a while I find a US sale price that beats Fasttech.

I've never had to deal with a return on a China buy. If something's wrong I'd rather deal with MVS, MFS, or another USA vendor. Most of what I buy from China is atomizers and small parts.

With the Trump tariffs in place I expect China vendors will eventually open more locations in the US and operate as a U.S. business with a number of American employees.

hey folks, would appreciate some input. I am a MTL all the way. I make micro coils at .o7 ohms or thereabouts and use Ready X wick in 18mm attys. To you cotton users, how long does the cotton last before you have to re wick when using flavored and non flavored juice? Thanks for your help.
Purely by coincidence I just finished rebuilding on my own 18mm tank and made a .8 omh coil. The coil I took out was .4 ohms and, while the vapor was starting to taste burnt, the plain cotton wick was almost perfectly clean. This is using DIY unflavored. It had been in place for, I dunno, a month, though I wasn't using this device every day.
My DIY Wakanda will turn a wick and coil to junk in a week at .4 ohms.

Thanks for all the 'input' ... still considering which to try ... or maybe I should just get a couple of each and see for myself ... errr, actually, see which one Janet likes. She does like her 'restricted' draw of the KFL-Lites.

At FT, looks like I can get an SXK Doggy for ~$11 each and the Coppervape Skyline for ~$20 and another ~$5 for an airflow kit. If we're considering replacing a 1/2 dozen KFL-Lites, the Doggy is priced better. Per FT the Doggy is 20 mm shorter than the Skyline and Janet does like her KFL's with the nano tanks.

@clnire, Seems David thought the Doggy was too airy compared to a KFL ... do you have an opinion on that?

@MikeADore ... that's close to our normal build/wattage - 1.6Ω 29g Kanthal coil, rayon wick, at 10 watts.

@DavidOck, which if the airflow inserts are you using to get a 'KFL draw'. Looks like the Coppervape at FT comes with the '3 hole' and one of the '1 hole' inserts.

I have a couple of mine set up with the 3 small hole one that came with the tank, another set with a slightly bigger one from the extra pack. Not a whole lot of difference between them, and that can be adjusted with the external ring, so I've not bothered to change them. (And they don't need to be recoiled - the coil has to come out to change the insert.) I found the large one too much for me, ymmv. But you may not need the extra pack, except as spare parts. :)

(I'm about 1.6, 28 gauge Kanthal, 8.5 watts, btw)

Getting a couple of each, to start, sounds reasonable to me.

@MikeE3, through my vaping experience, I have slowly lowered my ohms (currently comfy at 1.3 to 1.5 or so) and like slightly better airflow, with watts at 10-11 from 8-9. I still love my Kayfuns, and find I can adjust the Doggies to a comfortable state. Not fully open, but not fully closed. I am not exact with my setting, just not fully open and not fully closed.

Clear as mud, eh? o_O

I think we're going to try a couple of the Coppervape Skylines. They appear to be about the same size as a KFL w/ an M-Tank, so that's OK with Janet. The deciding factor was refilling the tank. Neither of us were keen on removing the tank to bottom fill the Doggy. A bit more convenient just taking the top off the Skyline like a KFLV5 or Prime. Will pick up the extra airflow restrictors, just because, they may come in handy.

Hi - are there any notable differences between the SXK and Coppervape Skylines? The only one I can see is that the Coppervape's available, but the SXK may not be.

Thanks.

I wound up with both. No observable differences to me in performance or manufacture. IIRC, one - crs! - came with more inserts. Otherwise, seem to be identical.

If the SXK were available I’d probably have gone with that brand. I’ve got s bunch of clones of diff attys from SXK and it’s hard to see a quality diff compared to my “originals”

That said, there’s also an ECF thread for the Coppervape brand. And like David said folks say it’s of good quality.

The Coppervape comes w/ 3 inserts, I think the SXK listing showed more than 3.

I need to get several sets of new batteries. My 2 1/2 yo LG HG2's are giving out & it's time. I found more of them at 101 Vape but Ixm wondering what is current. They've been great batteries. 20A 3000mah. Anything comparable?

Hi - was all set to wade in and suggest, but others will nail it where I can't. I use the Samsung 30Q and Sony VTC6 at low power and get decent runtime. They're both about 3000 mAh, though I don't know if they'll stretch to 20A. If you vape at less than (say) 30W, they should be ok. There's always the Sony VTC5A (2600mAh / 25A) if you need more.

As for shiny-new, there's the recent Samsung 24S - see Mooch's review here.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
