@low_tar_neil, I couldn't wait, these are the ARES-2 and ARES-2 LE that I won in an Innokin giveaway. They arrived this morning and after a cup or 2 of coffee, I decided to give them a go after watching the videos on the Innokin website. Coiling has not been one of my strong suits even though I have been using RBAs for the last 4 years. I did 7 wraps 26ga SS316 and they came out at .55Ω. I decided to try the coil tool for a spaced coil and it was better than using the 2.5mm machine screw I usually use. I was blown away by the ease of using the build deck and installing the coil. I have never put in a coil as easily as these were. Watching the P. Busardo video really was the key. I have been spoiled using the Kayfun V3 Mini with the top fill. The sliding top on the ARES is not only easy to use but I really like that it is childproof, the drip-tip has to be removed to slid the fill port open. I really can't talk about the flavor because I only vape unflavored. I built both tanks and they do look nice on my Solo's and I really look forward to using a tank that holds more than 2mm of ejuice. The Kayfuns will still be used in rotation, I just don't know how long it'll be until I use them. I'm having high hopes about the ARES tanks. Sorry, got a bit long-winded.

And exactly what do you want to make them do? ;)

Work - smarty pants . . . :img:

Even though I've been using a pre-made coil as a template - I've been having a hard time making one that's above 1.0 ohm . . .

Never heard of the Ares before your post ... just did a little googling and YouTubing about it. Looks like a right nice atty. Similar to my Hastur which is currently my favorite topper.

Hastur MTL RTA – CTHULHU MOD -Innovations for You
The ARES is a single coil and the Hastur is a dual coil. I like just one coil for my restricted DTL. It works for me. Today will be the test, I'm leaving for the deer stand in a little bit.

What gauge and type wire? Plug those values into one of the "calculators", along with your target ID for the coil, and get the number of wraps needed. I, and many others, often go here:

Single or dual ... I build my with a single coil and it does just fine. The Ares is a 4ml tank and the Hastur is 3.5ml ... that for me would give the edge to the Ares. But I'm done buying attys, I've got way more than I'll ever use.

I just bought a Pallas RTA. Made by Gas Mods.
Bought it because Phil said that the air flow can actually be adjusted to tight for comfortable MTL.
And, that means that a 1.5 - 2.0 ohm coil should work just fine in it.
GAS MODS Pallas MTL RTA 22mm
Tell ya in a week or so if it's any good.

I look forward to your impressions. They need to finish building their website. Check the section on "How to Fill with E-Liquid" 5. Lorem Ipsum. I know, I'm nitpicking but I think it is funny for a retailer or manufacture to not catch a mistake like this.

9 Surprising Potential Benefits of Nicotine - Vaping360

Despite the popularity of nootropics—so-called smart drugs or study drugs—many people don’t realize that nicotine has been proven to enhance memory and improve other cognitive functions. Although it’s widely misunderstood by the public and pilloried in the press, researchers recognize the positive effects of nicotine, and are actively seeking new ways nicotine can help people live better lives.

Both my dentist and my doctor agree that switching to vaping probably saved my life. My dentist (who had seen a mouth full of leukoplakias when I was still smoking) said after five years, my mouth looked "like a "never-smoker". My doctor says I should keep getting a CT scan once a year because that 180+ pack-year history (over 45 pack-years is considered extreme exposure) will be with me forever.

This makes all the CT scans over the years worth the time, effort, expense, and X-ray exposure. After seeing a small (10 mm) nodule in my lower right lung sit there for years with no change, this year it had doubled in size (volume, not diameter) since last year. Off to the pulmonologist; off for a PET scan with radioactive tracer injection. The results have come back and the pulmonologist "doesn't like the looks of it". He won't say it is cancer, but he thinks it should be removed. I have an e-visit coming up (via Zoom) to discuss my options with someone from the surgery department.

Note that I am a four-time cancer survivor from things caught very early: two melanomas (a couple decades apart), and two kidney cancers (caught in scans looking for tobacco-related cancers). The first kidney cancer required an invasive operation. (I joked that they had tipped the kidney out through the 10" (26 cm) incision to work on it and stuffed it back in afterwards.) The second was done by RF ablation. (They stuck a tiny microwave oven in on the end of a skinny probe and burned it away in place.)

If we decide to go ahead with this surgery, it will be more like the second. They will make two small incisions and put a camera in through one, and a combination nipper and vacuum cleaner in through the other. He said that frequently the patient (me) will go home the same day. I expect that I will say to proceed.
