wierd. I will try again later. I am logged in and can read every other thread I watch.
(@classwife) me too and Janet three
hopefully she'll come out of her shell, and the rest of ya can help her to be more discreet. May not help at this point though. There are 3 others, almost as many as there are smokers.
Dave it's really easy if you have a coilmaster, wrap the coil as usual 1 or 2 coils and you'll have it down. With the coilmaster no need for different sizes at least 6 are supplied with it. Once it is wraped it is a nice tight contact coil always wrap at least 2 extra wraps I usually do 3 or 4. At this point remove the end of the wire that is through the hole on the CM then push the coil back up to the shoulder, at this point You grab the end furthest from the shoulder and pull and stretch it out, then I count the coils and pull on each end separately and remove usually 2 wraps for me on each side will take care of any wonky wraps at both ends, then take the other piece of the CM and squeeze the coil together as much as it will go. When you let off the pressure you will have a perfectly spaced coil. Takes me about 3 min. I usually do 5 or 6 coils at a time so I don't have to mess with it when I recoil but I am using 6 different atty's. So the amount of them is up to you.I made a new coil this morning, just 25 hours after the previous one. This time, the old one was still working very well, but it wasn't working GREAT.
I timed the process of making the new coil, from last toke on old coil to first toke on new coil. No snafus, and it still took 26 minutes. Plus, although the new coil is vaping GREAT, I know that one of the end loops is significantly wider spaced from the next loop than the spacing of the other loops, so I think it's possible that this coil may have to be replaced within hours. But dang, it tastes so good, it will be worthwhile. I do hope I can find a way to either speed up the coil-making process or make coils that stay in top shape for a longer period of time.
I don't pulse, dry-burn or check the function and resistance prior to installing them and using them. That may not fit the conventional wisdom, I know. All I do is build 'em, install 'em, put the tank on my mod, have the mod measure and set the resistance, and use 'em.
I use a small drill bit that is the approx size of the coil. Works good but I'm doing a K5I don't know if this will make sense with just a written description of what I do about that, but...here goes:
When I install a new coil in my little KFL+ shorty, I run a small Phillips head screwdriver through the coil, to help hold it over the air hole between the posts. With a very small pair of pointed, flat tip or chain nose pliers, I bend 1 leg of the coil so it's in a U shape around the screw. Then with a pair of Twizzers (tweezers with the tank gripper on the other end) or the same little pair of pliers...I pinch the 2 sides of the U together, on the air hole side of the screw head. Put the Twizzers or pliers down and use another screwdriver to tighten the post screw. The leg stays pinched around the screw and it doesn't squeeze/sneak out when tightening it. Snip off any excess leg wire when finished, and do the same to the other leg.
Jeez give you guys a break for a day and you get attacked.Wonder if it just got messed up with the response to the spam attack?
Oh, that is a terrible feeling....you are wise in getting as many naps as possible cause those colds can really drain you.I was outside for a bit today, but mostly inside nursing a terrible, miserable, awful cold. Haven't been sick in such a long time so guess I'm due. I did make some wonderful granola for snacking so something got accomplished, and then I napped. Can't type much with my eyes closed.
Had me wondering this morning, but glad it all turned out well.OK. This thread is fixed. Post away folks!
No real advice from this gardener cause I've never grown these. I wouldn't want to tell you to follow what I'd do for a flower or bush or tree, but I see that you are getting the help you need. Oh, I do use Epsom salts when I know there is a plant that likes to be on the dry side, but am very cautious because too much magnesium is as bad as not enough.....ok.........question for the gardeners. We have two jalapeno plants. They had both been planted in a can together. Then I found out they needed more space. One had one jalapeno on it, and it was much smaller. I expect it was using most of its energy to feed the pepper. They both have had blooms, but that is the only one to make a chili.
They are both in the ground now, but the one with the jalapeno on it isn't doing as well as the other. It's a small chili, should we pick it off so the plant isn't trying to nurture it? For the blooms that didn't make a chili, and just kinda wilted, should we pick those off, or will they just wilt up and fall off? Thanks for your advice!
Keeping you in my prayers and hoping the worry is for nothing.Well some not so good news. The VA just called me and the spots on my lungs are increasing in size and they are concerned so I'm going to see an oncologist on Thursday. Not what I needed at this point. They said they don't know that it is cancer but the doc on Thursday will discuss more. Like I didn't have enough wrong.
I will be seeing this a bit later when I have some free time....thanks for sharing.
Porch Prayers headed your way, Mike!Me too Pat. I had a cat scan that showed a 1-2 cm inflammation in one lung. I'm scheduled Thursday for a PET scan. Sure hoping it's nothing serious but if it is the Doc wants to catch it early. Guess both of us would do good with some Porch Prayer.
Oh ... nice ... will have to try to remember to watch for it later in the year.
That one is nice, but I will stick with the V3 kit. I really like it. the case is easier to use to hold things withHeres the best coiler IMO Dave
Coil Master Coiling Kit V4 - Coil Master
That case is nice! I finally do have nearly all those things, but sure would have loved to have had this available at that price long before it was. I have the V3 and won one of 15 that they had shipped to a reviewer, so only had to pay 5.25 postage for it. No clue what they did different in the V4, but the V3 suits my needs perfectly. That one is nice, but I will stick with the V3 kit. I really like it. the case is easier to use to hold things with

as long as it works. I have a much older CM also, v1 or v2 and the upgrades in 3 are definitely worth it to me.I know that some improvements were made with later version(s) of the Coil Master than whatever version I have. The improvements that mine does NOT have:
2 offset wire paths so that the coil can be wound in either direction.
Markings on the coiling shafts to indicate size.
Longer shafts.
Bigger "handle"--- the part that you turn to wind the coil.
I have a UD coil jig too... a poorly designed tool that doesn't even have a "handle"... I swear they got halfway through the design process and then decided to go into production with the design incomplete. But, if I use the handle from my Coil Master with the shaft section from the UD coil jig, I can wind in either direction.
