Just a side note: glycerine (VG) was always a recommended dressing for rubber, as in the seals around automobile windows and windshield wiper blades. Now be aware, that recommendation dates back to when such seals were made from actual rubber (from the sap of rubber trees), rather than modern polymers like neoprene and nitrile rubber. Who knows what is really best for modern rubber substitutes?

Another a quick note .try to keep in a cool dark place .

sunlight and UV rays will dry out seals also heat .

just take a look at old car tires over time they will crack and degrade due to sun and weather .

all you can do is try to preserve them for as long as poss sooner or later they will need to be replaced like everything else .

Thank you, everyone, for the input for the care of syringes. I have been doing everything right with the exception I have been coating the rubber tip with PG. I will switch over the VG in the future. I especially like the tip from @pwmeek to leave room to push the plunger after assembly of the cleaned syringe.

I mix at 50pg/50vg. My syringes bind up here and there and i just put a drop of my unflavored mix on the rubber plunger when that happens. If it happens too often I trash it and get another one out of my box of 25 from Amazon. The markings eventually wear off anyway. They are disposable, but you can rejuvenate them several times. I use 12ga and 14ga blunt needles with them.

Clear packing tape around the barrel prevents the markings from wearing off, FWIW.

I keep a small needle bottle full of VG for lubricating plungers. It's good for lubricating orings when you assemble tanks as well.

Once you fill the space between the seals on a plunger it will last a while. I put juice on atty o-rings also and I don't have to change o-rings but once or twice a year on several attys. Sometimes, they don't even need it once I examine them after removal. Lubrication extends the life by magnitudes. The most wear on a Kayfun was always where the chimney top slides through the top cap o-ring. A drop of juice on the chimney top tube before reassembly stops wear on that o-ring.

I've replaced a couple of those top o-rings on KFL's, and one of those was because I tore it up trying to put a Kayfil tool in a tank where it didn't fit. Apart from that I've only ever replaced one o-ring, a tank o-ring on a KFL I bought used. I always lubed them with VG, saw that tip right after I started vaping. Some of them are inset to where it would be hard to get them out. I worry that extracting them would be likely to damage them.

People talk about replacing o-rings. I sometimes wonder if I should be doing that more often,

Question:

Is it normal to have a parts box for vape gear? More than one?
Definately Yes!!. Where else you gonna put things like spare tanks and O rings. The hard part is if you forget to label things and trying to figure out "Now which one of these fit this Atty?"

Don't know how Hygenic it is but facial oil off your forehead or chin. Works really good. Got the idea from looking for the best thing to lube your trackball up. Very strange how well it works. Hopefully you have enough oil on your face.

Hi, my friends. First, I know I could ask my question in the DIY section and get loads of answers. However, I would rather hear from folks I trust to answer here. My question has to deal with the care of the syringes used for mixing my juice. What do you use on the rubber on the plunger? When I wash/clean the syringes the rubber portion dries out. Should I use VG or PG on the rubber after cleaning? Or is there something else I should use?
I know pg is antibacterial, but either will work.

Dude. Some use tackle boxes. Multi tray. Others use tool boxes and I don't mean the little one that carries enough wrenches to get your kid off the side of the road if they break down.
If you ever get into building and wicking you'll see what I mean.

Say I discovered something while transitioning back to TC from Kanthal. The bigger the coil such as I was using 6 wraps and went to 8 it lasts longer for some reason at a 7/8 or 8/9 and also lasts longer after a dryburn at least with SS316L. I just like the way TC vapes better then Kanthal. Not so harsh and I can actually do a DL instead of MTL.

When I start to ponder the idea of a box on wheels.... yeah, there might be a problem.

I already have some tools from working on electrical gadgets for my car hobby and scale models. Magnifiers, clip on lights, small tools and such. I have what they call "wire sized" drill bits from some projects. I'm sure a few jigs and tweezer type stuff will be needed though.

I was just wondering about spare parts and such. Tips, tanks, adapters, tiny screws and even some mother boards.

I mostly remember to write on packages what they're for. Mostly. I do have some "hmm..." items

Does make it easier when you're looking for a specific o-ring, fill screw, and so on.

So a few small boxes of that kind of stuff, a box of backup mods, a box of backup tanks....

Separate box of tips. I use a hip holster for my mod, and sometimes knock a tip off unknowingly.

I thought everybody kept their gear organized and itemized. I store my spare tanks in small plastic containers, each container has a label, and well, keep an itemized list of what's in each box.
