once you start building it becomes a whole different experience

you will get to know your atty's better

more flavor more vapor and that's when the fun will begin

what starts out simple can turn into a hobby then if you let it an obsession .

before you know it you will turn out like many of us .then you will settle into it and it reverts back to a hobby .
It all sounds so good. I wish it were so simple.

I've been building coils for a few years now. I'm still barely passable at it. I hate building coils. Once I get one working, I build a few more while I'm on a roll. That way I have something to fall back on for the times I just can't do it.

I agree with you but I stopped building coils. I have all the stuff and can do it if I have to but I would rather not. I HATE fiddly stuff.....oh, "If I were a tinkerer", how does that song go?

I have a crap load of wire i got when on a wire mission to get a few different types ie .clappy fused clappy alien twisted flat twisted etc etc. and also most gauges of normal kanthal

loads of different cotton etc more than i will prob ever use same thing went on a cotton mission

juice well i got 4 gallons of VG and PG and prob more flavors than you average cake shop lol

I guess i am set for a while and its great fun building and mixing .

I dont have any nic base as i have not used nic for a couple of years since giving up smoking .

it kinda turned into a slight obsession for a little while and i went on a bit of a spending spree but i have so much diy stuff now i hardly need to buy much nowadays the odd bottle of flavor now and then if i run low or just wanna try something i dont already have .

if i add up what i have prob spent on diy over the last few years its prob around $200-$300 bucks and its lasted me a couple of years so far and will prob last me another few years to come .

so diy is the way to go if ya wanna save a few bucks long term.

as for juice well you cant beat the flavor when you mix your own .

I can see myself building coil packs somewhere down the road. Probably at first to get an understanding of how to do it in general, but as a long term goal of rebuilding disposable stuff. Or perhaps improving an existing method.

The tinkerer in me figures that'll happen at some point. But as far as building and mixing goes.... I'm ok with store bought. If I used up a few mils a day and had to swap batteries at lunch break it might be different. But I'm still using the first bottle of sauce I bought in July and coils bought soon after.

I did the same thing. I have no need to buy anything vage related other than batteries & eventually more vg & pg & the 2 flavorings in ky adv. I did just orger 120ml of a holiday juice that I like. Commercial juice flavors are too intense for me now, so I got it at 0 nic & will add my own nic & dilute the juice down some. It's Rear Differential from Boosted. Giant vapes has it in stock but 60 ml only h highest nic level is 12mg. It's a pumpkin pie/pumpkin latte mix & is delicious! And I've never gotton on the pumpkin spice craze except for this.
I lean more toward self reliance, and not being at the mercy of merchants and shipping.

And the FDA. Or trade wars with China.

500+ feet of my preferred wire, it will be a LONG time before I hit my last coil ;)

Enough nic on ice to keep me vaping at my 18mg level for about 20 years, so I'll need to consider getting some more when I'm about 90. Enough PG and VG to mix what I'll use for the next year or so, and those won't be under the FuDA's thumb anyway.

I use my Koiler. Love this thing. My hands are too messed up & it's too painful to be able to grip the wire well to wrap on a screwdriver, although I could if I absolutely had to.

I started building & mixing to save $ on a fixed income. I found that I like what I make better anyway. I was such a flavor hound at first. Recovering tastebuds changing every few months for the first year or so meant flavors I liked today wouldn't be so great next month. I'm stuck on bourbon custards from the start, & somtimes a fruit or 2. But have a tonish of flavorings I tried & bought to try recipes. I'm so glad all that settled down!

I have one of those and have never used it. Maybe I should give it a spin (literally). The main reason I stopped building, besides the fiddly part, was I have never liked the taste. Of course, that was earlier days when we used the mesh you had to torch and the kanthal wire. I have used cotton in the prewraps and didn't like that but it was better than the wire and mesh.

Man! When I first began vaping a coworker was blowing out steam that smelled like Skittles. I asked what flavor it was. Going from shop to shop I kept striking out. I prefer to buy in person for various reasons.

After weeks of no luck at shops I ordered some online.....

It showed up today and after a six week wait (since I first smelled it) and dawg gonnit!!! I am plagued with vape tongue.

A sip of pickle juice & change to a totally opposite flavor for a few hours should fix that.

What’s a Koiler? Like a Coil Master jig?
