Awwww ty! It's been a struggle but so far so good.

I'm still inclined to name one of the REOs Shiny and the other Itis. ;)

Actually they are nearly indestructible so at the firesale price are really insurance against what is coming. I have been using REOs for about 6 years so am quite familiar with them and comfortable running a true mech/rebuildable setup.

The Reonaut T-shirt in that order is my present to myself. 3 sizes smaller than when I started with weight watchers.
I wanted one so bad for a long time! And of course, now that they’re affordable, it’s not in the budget. Glad you were able to snag a couple! Keep moving forward, it sounds like you’re doing great :)

The Earl Grey I just use Nature's Flavors ~6% I've been trying to add a little more 'body' but the recommended Marshmallow is way too sweet for me, even in tiny amounts. I also tried butter creme which was a little better, but next batch will just single flavor again.

The Jasmine is Inawera's Spring Green, discovered accidentally during an order from Poland and pulling up descriptions. It's a little bit too 'flowery' for me so I've added a little bit of Flavour Art Green Tea, still fiddling around with amounts on that.
I like flowery. I’ll look into it. I have FA green tea, but haven’t come up with something good. That or eisai tea. I like tea vapes, but it’s the one profile I’ve had zero success with. I appreciate your input

I don't what you all have seen here but want to let you know, especially since Legs posted on the page page I tagged you on, that both Legs and Ginny have passed on. :nun: It was tough on everybody but it was all covered on the BP, not here.

Yep the crises brought me back.

I have been having a very rough time since my mother's suicide. Lots of emotional things happening and I sort of just walked away from all social media and forums. I couldn't take more conflict. I've spent the time trying to rebuild me and put things in perspective.

On the upside I did not go back to smoking even under all the pressure. We got rid of that ancient falling apart car and bought a new Subaru Outback last winter. I've lost 98 of the 150 lbs I need to lose and my health has improved immensely.

The Downside of popping back into the forums a couple days ago is this morning I dropped $300 on 2 new REO LPs and a ton of spare parts since they are going out of business. LOL

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I don't know how you feel, I can only imagine and it's not a good place to be My sincere sympathies and I'm so sorry you're having to go through that.

Awesome on the weight loss! Way to go, you're two thirds of the way there. Watched my husband go through that, several times, and I know it isn't easy. He's working on it again now despite working a very physically demanding job. :(

Congrats on a new car, I need one and am not looking forward to dealing with it. Guess that's what happens when you live out in the stix.

REOs, downside? Look at it this way, you were able to buy a couple before they went out of business and the powers/idiots that be banned hardware sales. Major score!

Glad you're back and making a difference helping people on ECF. :)

I've been lurking on and off, but having decided on and stocked on my hardware choices, and most of DIY being things like Jasmine Tea and mixed mints, in addition to my still favorite Earl Grey Tea there hasn't been a lot of reasons to join in. That and typing is getting more difficult (I've done some with dictation software, but my cats think that if I'm talking it must be to them, and all come up for attention. And my nursing home stay 4 years ago pushed me from just being an introvert to extreme introversion even in asynchronous communication, bordering on full blown social anxiety.

But I just spent 3 days commenting on vaping stories in the New York Times. Part of why I subscribe is that generally their comment threads are polite and in depth from all points of view. Not on this topic. Mostly I've just been giving factual information to try to counter the blatantly untrue comments - like 'vaping was invented by big tobacco just to lure in young people' and 'flavors are just for kids' and 'there's been no research' etc.

Cats always think it's all about them, even more so than dogs. :D

Yeah, I figured you were stocked up and glad you're getting the last bits and pieces into place.

I've been pretty isolated for years now and get the whole social anxiety thing. When I know I'm going to deal with the outside world there's a lot of anxiety and trouble sleeping for days but then when the time comes I usually deal with it pretty well, much to my endless surprise. I didn't yesterday at Wal-Mart--loud music, rearranged isles, oblivious shoppers blocking isles, flashing surveillance cameras, out of stock items, etc.--and came off as taking it out on my husband. :( At least he's understanding.

Bravo to you to all the commenting on the NYT's articles! Good moderating is hard to come by these days and I'm glad to hear it. I'll give their paywall a second look.

@NolaMel, I don't remember you posting here but then again I have to use a med that's messing with my brain. I do see you around a lot even though I don't post much these days. Thank you for all the help you provide to people around here, my knowledge ends with old school stuff so I'm no help to anyone. Did spend time down there after Katrina rescuing abandoned pets. Glad your city has revived, it was a ghost town when I was there both times.

Ty, true I don’t post much here, mostly just drop by. Your rescue work here after Katrina was sorely needed and much appreciated. There were so many fur babies that couldn’t evacuate with their families. It was horrendously sad and devastating, but as a result there are more shelters that let people bring their pets now. You were those pups angel

I'm right there with you. I'm not the person I was before the bottom fell out on me. I was never a social butterfly, but I had a few friends I was comfortable around. I'm still in contact with a few & do house & pet sitting for them but as far as going or doing with them I just don't anymore. I just get too anxious h always back out of even family events at holidays.

Wow ... just about when I'm thinking this thread might fall into the archives ... a bit of chatter takes place.

@Myrany , so sorry to hear your news ... best wishes on your journey dealing with your loss.
TY to you and all those offering kind words. Really it means so much to me that you care and I was missed. When I hunt down the back porch again and figure out how to articulate what happened I will put up a post for those wishing more details.

Since the change of enforcement date and now the flavor ban news I have been stepping up the final stages of my preparations to be totally independent as a vaper for the rest of my life. I could do it now honestly I just feel I would like a few more odds and ends as insurance against breakage.

Put in the REO order yesterday. Put in a fasttech order for squonk bottles today and coils for my last 2 penguins and a couple of hadaly squok attys which I really like. I know the penguins at best will last another year before the batterys die and they get tossed but I really like them as out an about beaters. Cheap and have survived numerous drops on concrete. Also light enough that on days when my hands are bad I can hold on to them AND the steering wheel (Weird I know but it is how it is).

I picked up a Blotto tank a couple weeks ago and am really liking it if anyone is looking for a decent flavor RTA. Thinking I am going to grab a second one. I usually put it on my Aegis Solo but it is aesthetically a bit large for it so I think I will move it over to the Alien.

Still mostly a squonker though. Some things never change. :)

Also If anyone is curious about the new Blu My Blu system. Don't bother even with the cheap deal they are running. I picked one up to see what we might be left with. 1 Pod that I got with it wouldn't fire at all and the other fires 50% of the time. The taste is just as nasty as Blu always was. yeah better to go our own way with our good gear and only resort to things like Blu and Juul in public should our gear be enough to get us in trouble in the future.

It was kind of a strange feeling to post not too far down below Legs' last post. Can't let the FP fade away, it used to be a rocking place full of good folks, not to mention the menagerie. :)

I think most of the 'Front Porchers' have found their way on their vape journey. We used to talk a lot about new gear, what's coming along, and issues/problems we were having. Most of that kind of chit-chat has dropped off or moved along to other threads. The Back Porch and Lizards Lounge seems to be the current gathering spots for the 'old timers' from the Front Porch and lots of newer folks too. I agree it would be a shame for it to fade away ... back in the 'day' it was quite a popular thread.

I agree, Mike. Most of us have found what we need and like, and are just quietly stocking up on those items. And lots of nic.

Soooo,Mike.....what’s your favorite new gear?

The newest gear includes Dicodes Dani mini mods, the new KFL-Lite 2019s, and Zenith tanks. I do believe my favorite is the Zenith tanks ... best bang for the buck. Janet and I both agree it's the best vape from a drop-in coil tank we've used and the coils last a decent amount of time.

The Dani mini's are really nice but quite expensive. The latest nKFL or KFL-Lite 2019 is OK but I like the vape from previous versions better. The new KFL vapes noticably warmer than than any other tank from Svoe. I think because the tank/chamber are so much smaller, the vape is warmer when it reaches the mouth.

I am mostly making sure all my squonkers are good to go for the long haul. 5 REO's, 2 Pulse Bf X kits, A pulse 220, 2 Frankenskulls and multiple Kanger squonk boxes. So grabbing Squonk RDA's and backup squonk bottles.

Something you all might like is the Aegis Solo which comes with a REALLY flavorful tank the Cerebus. Little known fact about the Cerebus is it will take the Smok TFV8 baby coils INCLUDING THE REBUILD DECK. So that little thing is sustainable. The mod is nearly indestructible and designed to be that way. Very nearly waterproof as well. I believe the kit is running less than $35 most places these days. I LOVE that little Kit and have been running the heck out of mine for the last 2 months.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Aegis Solo, to the point where I'm tempted to get one. :grr:
