I think Yiddle was reminding us to keep it vape related here and take the non vape stuff to the back porch. She just did it politely. I'm not polite...REMEMBER THE FRICKING RULES!!! (of which I am a major violator!)
I've Never belonged to a group that would have me as a member!!! That worries me! I gotta play music and then get to sleep! Ever since the time change I have been off kilter! Night, Vapers!

I think I would kind of like a single coil version. Any recommendations? Price is right on that though.
the joy of an RDA is that you can do a single coil on a double coil deck. I do it all the time as I don't really like the heatt of dual coils myself. :)
But having the option for dual is still there if you want it. take a look around the site. there are RDAs for less even.

I've got a clone (forget who) but, I don't care for it much. Works good but I find them way too "fiddly" for my taste. The expanded diagram reminds me of a tech manual for a jet engine!:lol:
It's funny how many people look at that diagram and freak out. I wonder if the average person looks at their car engine and just thinks 'witchcraft!!!'

Do you really think I could learn to do this high-tech stuff ... myself? Alone?? Unsupervised???
Like Myrany said, with the coil jigs it really is as simple as being able to turn a knob and thread a needle so to speak. There is some finessing as you get better at it, but that's the basics to make it work. DIY juice can also be very simple. One of the best ways for us to help you with anything you're interested in is to come into the google hangout.
Sign in - Google Accounts
Many of us go in there at some point each day. Just keep checking if no one is in there. Sometimes some of us will just sit in there and wait for folks to come in while we check our threads etc. You can be on camera or not, but you do need a microphone. We can talk just like being on the phone. find out exactly what you want/need, and explain about various devices etc.

OMG that's beautiful!
Welcome to the porch!!

I wonder if other vape establishments price match? :)
Some do, wouldn't hurt to ask any of em.

Hardware mechanical devices with changeable batteries and rebuildable toppers are the most sustainable. Hence I got my REOs. ;)
that's why I went to Reos, and I've never looked back. They give me everything I want and I know they'll last longer than I will.

You might be surprised :)

When I was a kid I once asked my dad to change the record in the record player of the car. He said there isn't one in a car. I said yes there is under the hood. He said ok lets look. I pointed to the big round thing where the air filter goes. Mind you this was a 1962 New Yorker so the metal container for the air filter was big enough to be a record player.

I myself don't really shy away from complex builds really but after mucking with a few different devices there just are some I have no desire to fuss with again. Anything that requires steel mesh is high on my list of I will only use again in extreme emergency. Also on the list are my 2 kayfun clones. Those are such a pain to get the cotton right in to avoid either leaking or dry hits. Such devices are tucked safely away in the vapocalypse box and will likely be the LAST things used.

Now if you REALLY want fiddly muck with the Diver. ;)

Does it matter if I vape 0 mg nicotine? I weened myself off nicotine but still vape the way I used to smoke. I'd love to do this. Please don't laugh, but will I have to learn how to weld? I bet you think I am kidding ... ? I assure you, I am not. I'd love to try many of these things, I just honestly do not know where to begin -- it's as if I don't have a starting/reference point. Do people just teach themselves?
I learned from watching you tube videos.

I learned from watching you tube videos.
As did I.

The one thing that I really did learn on ECF that was not in many of the videos is managing the Ohms of my builds in relation to the battery I am using for safety reasons. I don't know if the more recent videos have changed but back when I was learning many of the people doing the video's didn't really talk about that. They just assumed that if you were building coils you already knew it.

I am a huge Peanuts fan! I loved Charles M. Schultz. I grew up reading Charlie Brown books! All of those characters were his best friends! I became very good at drawing them all the time! I thought they were real! He never got to kick that football. sigh. How I miss Peanuts!!!

I watched Charles M. Schultz on American Experience and I was floored. I have never seen such a humble spirit who seemed genuinely SURPRISED that we loved his characters so much! He was just not prepared to hear how the entire country came to a complete halt to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas.
I was more of a Dr Seuss kid.

Since I am an Electronics Tech I already knew all the ohms stuff.

For me I just visualize all the inner workings of the engine. But that is just me.
Math is sorcery though.

That's funny, my Kayfuns are the easiest things I have to rebuild and wick. They are perfect every time.

What do you have that you like better? Just curious. You know I'm stocking up for the Vapocalypse.:)

Matt, I have Russian 91%, Russian V2.0 (w/ the twist base for air flow), KFL Lites, KFL V4's, Taifuns, and ErlPrinz's. The R91% come closest to what I like for air flow. Looser than a KFL-Lite and not as airy as the KFLV4. But ... all my R91's seep juice down the 510 post/channel so they have to be cleaned/dried at each re-fill. I've tried everything and was never able to cure that 1 issue.

The Russian V2.0 and Taifuns vape really nice but are 'big' toppers. They're Ok for around the house but I don't like carrying them around.

I really like the KFL V4's but they are just a 'bit' on the airy side for me. I also stay away from these as the 'standard' around here because I try to stay w/ toppers that Janet can maintain too. If she every had to totally disassemble one completely and put it back together she'd probably give up.

That said - even though the KFL V4 has a lot of parts - on a day to day basis, for me anyway, it's just a simple/easy to use as any other topper. And no tools for refilling.

All that said - I vape a lot w/ the KFLV4 and when not using it either an R91 or KFL-Lite.

Honestly I think it is the crappy clones I have that make them such a nightmare. Someone told me the little divits on the side of the deck for the juice to come up are not deep enough on mine. Makes em finiky.

<- has a degree in math LOL

Really though coil building is not rocket science (though dealing with steel mesh builds might be)

Me too Myrany ... and after college I don't think I ever had need of knowing Laplace Transformations, Quadradic Equations yet alone Saddle Points or being able to prove 1,000,000,001 follows 1,000,000,000.

I did. I used to teach high school calculus.

I do have to say though until I started building coils I never understood how to APPLY ohms law. I knew it. I could teach it (also taught physics) but I never really had anything outside the purely theoretical with it.
