How often do you rewick and how do you keep the coils from gunking up??? Curious minds have to know... o_O

I probably re-wick 'bout every 10 days to 2 weeks. And I mainly rotate between two setups ... so I guess I would get about 5-7 days if I was using only 1 tank all the time. When I do re-wick, I don't have a lot of gunk on the coils. The coil is pretty well 'blackened' but not a lot of gunk build up.

I have trouble figuring out the relationship between TFA and Signature. Since TFA doesn't make a flavor by that name, I presume that TFA Signature Organic Strawberry is a rebranding Signature name for an existing TFA strawberry flavor. All that aside, though, I'm so happy with the FlavourArt Red Touch Strawberry that my strawberry search is over. :thumb:

It's my understanding that Ecigexpress rebrands many TFA flavors as Signature. If so, they may also rebrand some with a different name?

My new I stick 40tc came today, with a shiny Nautilus tank and coils. Many thanks to my benefactor. I have read the manual, but it's not really clear to me where to start. Can I turn it on to have a look at the menu before adding the tank and liquid? I'm only planning on using wattage control. When I do try vaping on it, what wattage do I start at? It's a beautiful blue, by the way. Anyone know how to get to wattage mode?
The neat thing about wattage is that you don't necessarily have to change it when a new coil has a different resistance, because the mod changes the amount of voltage supplied based on the resistance of the coil. For example, I can get a vape that I like at 11 or 12 watts, regardless of whether the coil is 2.0 ohms or 0.4 ohms.

My recommendation for initial wattage setting is 8.0 watts. That will more than likely be insufficient for a tasty vape, but you can just raise it a few tenths at a time until you find the sweet spot. That's better than starting too high and getting a burnt taste.

I don't want to keep 100mg/ml nic around the house because we keep our two 1st and 4th grade Nephews after school several days a week. I just wouldn't want to chance them finding the bottle and opening the cap. Kids will open closets and cabinets out of curiosity.

However, I just realized that with 24mg nic I could make 6 bottles of 4mg juice. That's a safer way to DIY. Anyone know where I can buy USP grade nic at 24mg/ml strength?
Although it's definitely not the most cost-effective way to buy nic, here's one of the places where you can purchase 24 mg/ml nic: Unflavored E Juice
Of course, they sell 36 mg/ml at the same price as 24 mg/ml, from which you could make 9 bottles instead of 6.

Yes, that's my understanding as well, and yes, they obviously change the names on some of the flavors, which IMHO unnecessarily confuses things. My guess is that Signature Organic Strawberry is the same as the flavor that TFA simply calls "Strawberry".

The watts you vape at will involve several things. One of those things is your juices. When I was using my Nauti's with the 1.8 coil, I had to start at 7.5 & worked my way up to 8.5 to 10.0 Watts. I was vaping custard juices which burn easily. So around 9 watts tasted great, & didn't fry the juice in the coil & ruin the coil. Start low & take a few puffs, see how it tastes & how is the vapor. Then take a step up about 1 full watt & do it again. How is it? Keep doing this until you either start to get a burned taste or find a spot that is delicious & just stop there. If ypu get a burned taste then back down your watts a couple of points. Your screen might read , for example 10.0 watts when it starts to taste burned, but it was fine at 9.5. H the flavor was good there. So just go back down to 9.5 & that's your sweet spot for that juice & that coil. Another juice might let you go higher. You just have to try it to see.

Yup. And not to forget... flavor changes as the coil gets gunked up and the wick burns a bit. So adjustment as you go along (up or down) will keep your taste budz happy. :)
I have one juice now that is best at 6.5w. Go figger.
No one has your taste buds. Most don't even have the juice you use. Many don't use the tank you use. Many don't have the mod you use. All of these things are a factor. Which is why no one can really tell you the best setting for you. Your sweet spot is yours alone.

I'm really enjoying this vape. Tastes much clearer and tastier than the vaporfi. I started at 8, but am up to 12 watts. Its much better than the one I've been using. I caught the conversation about nicotine. Is everyone buying and happy with my freedom smokes? I'm going to get some for the freezer, until I've got the rest of the supplies needed for diy, and need to make it myself, if nicotine there because becomes illegal for resale, like it is here.

Temco and other SS wires are used for flower arranging.
Jup, that's why I say if they try that, it will never hold up in court.

Anyone know where I can buy USP grade nic at 24mg/ml strength?
MFS, pretty sure ECX does, but I agree with others, get a locking freezer. It can be dangerous, but as someone said, not more than bleach and other chemicals.

Assuming that there were kids around, that I wanted to keep my nic locked up, and that I had sufficient existing freezer space, I would put some kind of locking container in the freezer that I already have rather than buying a new locking freezer.

True! That's why vaping is such a great adventure. It's a singular experience, because everyone is different.

MFS, or Ecigexpress is what I get. let them ship it in their plastic bottles because of the possibility of breakage over such a long shipping distance. But get dark colored glass bottles to move it to for long term freezer storage. It will keep better in glass. I wish I had a place for my own freezer. Most of mine is still in the plastic it came in because it's in my sister's freezer & I don't want to risk it getting broken. She has her kids (all grown) & husband in & out of her freezer & I don't know how careless they would be with it.

Welp. I just did all that tedious math one step at a time in excel.
If I want to have nic until I'm 90, I will need 20 more years of nic.
So for me, that would be
500 ml per bottle:
8 @ 100 mg/ml
Or
13 @ 60 mg/ml
Or
16 @ 48 mg/ml
And that assumes that I can get nic after I'm 90 and that I won't have to up the mg/ml due to memory problems.
IF the deeming makes it illegal to buy nic.
Ya think in 37 years with people fighting for it, we can re-legalize vaping?

Oooo they WILL care... It's ok to get "that other stuff", but "vaping is more dangerous than smoking!"
You may be surprised at how many people believe that to be dead-on truth. It's what big pharma and the government want people to think.

Mine was purchase a couple months ago and does not lock.
Reely? Owned a few in the last 40 years or so and all had a key. Got a chest about 10 years ago and an upright about 2 years ago. But these were/are full size freezers. Maybe the smaller ones don't? Dunno.

I think all freezers come with a lock but how many folks know where the key got to? ;)
I would if I were in my own place. I was horribly unorganized in most things, but there were a few things I had very organized. In my file cabinet was a file where I kept all the paperwork for whatever type of appliances/equipment etc that I bought. Including parts if they were small enough. Occasionally I'd go through it and toss out the paperwork for things I didn't own anymore. But that's where my key would be if I had one.

Mine is a small upright with no lock. Which is fine since we never have kids around. I noticed when shopping for it though that many of the smaller ones do not lock.
