I sent an email to fasttech to try and track down why my latest order hadn't even gotten out of "waiting for enough stuff to make up a container for shipping" status for almost 25 days. Next day I got an email from them saying it had arrived in NY. If that ain't a shipping miracle I don't know what is. Should be here in a couple of days at most. I ordered a kayfun V4 Clone so I will reconoiter and report. Just couldn't afford the real thing so I thought I would see what they have. If it's junk I don't have a problem with that cause some of the parts and o-rings will fit the Kayfun Lite.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Just found this little tear on one of my batteries. I think it probably happened when I was taking it out of the charger & the spring that holds it in slipped. I didn't notice it until I'd used it & taken it out of the Hana. I put a piece of tape over it to keep it from getting worse. It doesn't look like the battery is even scratched. Should I toss it, or is it ok to keep using?

Matt unless they have seriously changed the quality of things I can tell you the experience I have had with my 2 Kafun Lite clones from Fasttech. They work beautifully BUT I had to hunt down a replacement screw set for them as the screws it shipped with rusted.

I am hoping Iffy chimes in with what to get and where to get it like he did a year ago. I have had that happen a couple of times and iffy pointed me to this tube stuff that you can rewrap batteries with. It is super easy to do and works beautifully. unfortunately I am clueless where I ordered it from or what it is called as I tossed the packaging.

My AW IMRs seem to be REALLY prone to tears like that. The panasonics not so much.

A piece of electrical tape will work fine for a while, but you should really repair the battery correctly as soon as is practical.

I'm not Iffy, but this is what you want: 18650 shrink wrap tubing. You can get it in the states more quickly, of course, but now you know what to look for. Basically, remove the old wrapper, cut a piece of shrink wrap tubing that's 3mm or so longer than your battery on either side, center the battery, and hit it with a blow dryer on high. The PVC shrinks tightly around the battery.

I have plenty of extra, so if you private message me your mailing address, I can put some in an envelop and send it to you, if you want.

Here's sort of a visual aid/tutorial for you http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tutorials/485582-tutorial-re-wrapping-battery.html

First time I ever got on an airplane was to fly to San Diego for Navy boot camp in 1975. No smokes with the meal then.

You missed all the fun. This happened in the early 60s.

It works for me, PapaS. I think my Dad once told me that there was a very slight difference between the temperature at which water froze and the temperature at which ice melted, but the difference with VG is ginormous.

Consider it one of the great mysteries of the universe, but at least we've conquered it. Well, for the most part.

Somethin' like that, except that (as you previously mentioned) it seems there might be another odd thing about VG where the addition of water is necessary to make the freezing temperature that low. I'm as puzzled about that as I was about the huge difference between the freezing temperature and the melting temperature. I mean, it's not like VG combines chemically with water to create a new compound.

And now you're going all esoteric on me. Thank you. I really wanted a drink, just couldn't justify it until now. :D

Apparently ya'll didn't leave 'em in long enough to warm 'em up completely. Saw more dan a couple of unpunched cans 'empty' da pot when dey 'exploded'.

My C-RAT story. My top locker shelf was always nearly full of H&MFs. Dat hot plate was da bestest item I carried across da 'pond' from da land of da big BX and round eyes (aka US of A)!!!

To keep dis 'vaping' related, I once did get a green & red labelled four cig pack of Lucky Strikes (in '67). What's puzzling is that LS went to da red & white packaging in '42. C-rats came out in '58. Have yet to find out da two dates connection (yes, have spent many hours 'digging' online).

Unfortunately, I opened da pack and lit one... just imagine a det cord fuse... *poooooof*. Dat pack unopened today could pay for whatever PV I could ever want!

I could buy everybody on the porches the mod of their choice if I had half the stuff, my stuff, that my mother gave to Goodwill while I was at school. She did it three or four times when I was young. Some of it is worth a lot of money now. Guess I should have hung onto those cigarette packs too. Life sucks. Going for that drink now.

+ and - are isolated. It's just covering the negative side. The cover really has nothing to do with function. You should be able to take it right off and it won't hurt anything.

Not always true, Gary. In some (many?) mechs, if the side of the battery contacts the tube itself, you have a dead short. Not good, not at all good...

While the shrink wrap is the best solution, I usually use a piece of box / shipping tape - thick vinyl. And Kenna, I'd bet you're right on the slider on the charger being the culprit!

That's true. Wouldn't be a good idea to remove it entirely. On the other hand if it has a few gouges or cuts in it the insulation itself will keep the bare spot from touching the sides. On the other other hand, if one is going to use shrink tubing (or whatever) on it the original wrap should be removed or you might find it won't fit in the mod anymore! :)

But...but... didn't you have some of those factory tanks/nickel-coils ready to go when the Shark arrived?

Yep I do but I want to try to build my own first. They don't even include a manual with the VS. I'm sure there is a way to brighten and dim the screen but the only instructions on it are on the side of the box it comes in. Got my juice made and 1 Lemo and mini Nautilus all washed out so will try a build in a little while. I still can't believe they don't have a manual. The Provari P3 coms with it on a USB like a flash drive. Oh and I cleaned my P3 by the book on the thread and haven't had anymore problems.

I got a pre-made custard liquid that now is too strong and used it as a base.
One I added vg ,danish pastry , apricot, sweetner. The other vg ,donut , sweet raspberry, vanilla swirl.

Wow! No wonder you DIY! A raspberry-filled donut sounds mighty appealing right about now :)

Ya should be OK with the tape. But I highly recommend heat-shrink-tubing (HST). FT's procedure link is great.

Although more expensive, here's a LINK for HST that you'll receive long before fasttech.

FT's link is the way to go.

For the past 7 hours, it's been verwy, verwy qwiet....

OK I found a manual at official evolv dna 40 spec sheet. Googled that like I was told on the VS thread.
