Don't need the batt shrink wrap, but those silicone single batt cases look like just 'the thing' when I want to throw an extra batt in my pocket.

Yep - the price is lower on the original kick (10 watt max). But the kick2 that goes to 15 watts is still selling for $45. Geez you can buy a 30 watt China box mod for that price. I've got a couple of the original smoktek kicks and just don't use them. I think they only go to 7 watts. Way too low for me. But then I only paid $5 bucks apiece for 'em way back when they 1st came out.

He did 9 wraps or 28g NI200 on a 3mm mandrel. came out to .14Ωs. Not compressed, just slightly spaced so it fits into the head.

I've got a couple hcigar Nemy clones and a 'real' Nemisis. The Hcigars are pretty dang good compared to the real deal for a whole lot less $$$s. Don't know who makes the FT clones.

Go with the clone. I did and haven't had a problem.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

What do you mean "step down"?

A battery produces around 4 volts. A kick can take that 4 volts and step it up to 5 or 6 volts. However, what if you want to step the voltage down to 3 volts? Some circuits can only step up, some can only step down, and some can do both. You'll also see this referred to as "boost" for step up, and "buck" for step down. A boost-buck circuit does either one.

According to the Busardo China trip interview, they are real busy up until the holiday, then a week off. Then many people quit, preferring to stay in their villages, then they have to train new people after. Just wondering whether I ought to order soon, or wait until late Feb.

That is a good suggestion, David. Safe option, but not a comprehensive track record. But I don't think any of the telescoping mods have much discussion. I like the clean lines. My left pinky finger needs more exercise. The letter A just isn't enough.

I also have a few mechs in my vapocolipse box. My nemisis clone has a sigelei clone kick from FT. I might pick up a few more kicks if things look scary. Some company had them on clearance for New Years but didn't buy any. Not panicking yet. Right now enjoying the excitement of the new itty bitty regulated mods hitting the market.

For removing batteries from the charger (Nitecore I2 and I4) I also tend to press the battery back toward the spring, lift the front and slowly (well, I don't whip them out) pull the battery forward and out gently releasing the spring. No damage so far (knock on formica)

that "KICK" is pretty cool, so does that make an unregulated mech a lil'safer?

Your second link says the item can't be kicked.

That one's a clone of the "original" Electric Angel, hence EA. I have the EHPro version. Pinky is a good way to fire it :) Although the action on mine is pretty light, so I don't know how much exercise you'll get... aAaAaA will exercise both pinkies

I have a good half a dozen mechs of one sort or another. My workhorses really are my REOs though so I am focusing on picking up spare parts for them since on a good hands day I can completely rebuild the thing myself.

Bad hands days I use and ego with a lightweight clearo. It is a letdown but better than not vaping.

WIth the charger. Many days my fingers cannot take the pressure of holding that slider back while lifting hte battery. Just too painful.

what is the downside to these "KICK" devices? something inline reducing power, smaller battery, making mechs seem noob friendly? cause I gotta say that was my 1st thought.

You pretty much got it SHOCK COLLAR :). These devices max out at between about 8-14 watts depending on which one you buy and you have to go down one batter size to make room for it. So, if you're using a 18650, you go to a 18500. But for anyone who wants to make a mech mod a bit safer and who vapes in this power range, they're not bad.

I haven't seen the China video. It's not up on his youtube channel. Where did you see it?

I use my kick in a telescoping mech with an 18650. Cheap mech. Can't even remember which one.

Downside? Horrible vape - at least the cheap ones are as it's low end PWM regulation. Turns a lovely Reo into the vape quality of an... iStick. I tried a Smok Kick clone once - for about 5 minutes. Took it out - set it aside. Not only was it "rattlesnake-y" harsh it was extremely loud going about it. SHSHSHSHSHSH!!!

As far as making something more noob friendly - safer - you do have a point there insofar as they should shut down if they detect a short.

I would buy one in a heartbeat if they came in 50W sizes, and I'd probably still get one if they came in 30W. But, 15W is just not enough for my vaping style.
