Hi Corpa - love the Avitar!! Welcome to California - where are you moving here from? Thanks so much for your reply. I did the syringe thing and condom fill and other ways, but always burned taste with them all, gave it up and went back to the DSE801 ecig (with atomizer and carts you fill and add juice to). I looked at the ProVaria that was mentioned but know I will never get the hang of that one - have tried the 501 and ego with tank and cartos - lost cause on me. We are leaving on a 3 month trip to Alaska early next month and need to decided what to order and get before our trip or I know I will be back on the regular cigarettes. Thanks again for your reply and again, welcome to California!!! Darlene (Just saw you are from Texas from your post!!)

I posted minutes ago but cannot find my post, not sure if I did it right and trying again, hope it is not a repost (sorry). I am 67 years old, female - I really want to stick with ecigarettes but having a problem - have tried a few and always go back to DSE801 ecigs because they are easy, but they are just not what I want. Have tried ego and a couple of others but just can't get the hang of the cartos and filling and dual cartos, just get confused. I guess I want something like the DSE801 penstyle with the refillable carts, but better than the DSE801. Almost ready to go back to real cigarettes and hate that I might. Can someone help me with a post about something like, but better than the DSE801 that I can easily use? Appreciate any help and thank you, Darlene

Welcome Darlene to our thread and hang in there it will get better. I too started with a 801 and they are a good pv but the Batteries didn't last long enough for me. Are you looking for an auto or manual? The Echo is a very good auto battery with a 3.4 ml matching cone cartomizer that is reasonably priced. You can get a full kit 650 or 1300 nah batteries for 45.00. ECH0 1300 Chrome - $44.95 : CropDuster901 eCigs, eCigs, Vaporizers and Supplies

If you are looking for a manual I would suggest the Go-Go for about the same price. It also has a 1300 mah battery with 3 ml carto. Complete Electronic Cigarette Kits

The Kgo is very good and has 510 threads and you can find more different types of cartos to work with it than the other two I listed. They are 1100 mah battery and hoosier has them for 42.00 KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

Darlene, we are living in CA now. We just spent a year in Honolulu and returned back home the first of this month. The company moved my hubby to a sister company and in turn they are moving him to Fresno for some huge job that starts in July.

As far as the carto burning taste, have you tried the new ones with the 3 punched holes? I just about gave up on my favorite Kona juice until I received a tank that had a carto with 3 holes, in fact I just received 75 of them today in the mail. Oh wait, you use the 801s not 510s.

Oh wow three months in Alaska, not sure about your traveling accommodations but ecigs would be so much better in that regards. I know I have come across a DSE801 thread on the forum, I go look for it and give you the link.

I don't have any experience with the Kgo but tx is right on with Hoosier. Brent is extremely helpful and responds almost immediately.

Thanks for your reply and I am sure that I will get good advice. Thanks again, Darlene

I certainly hope you find something that will work for you and don't want to see you or anyone go back to the stinky's.

My all day vape is the go-go with the regular go-go cartos. The batteries and cartos last a long time and I find them very easy to fill..Discountvapers has adapters for the go-go that can use just about anything on the go-go battery if you choose.

Wishing you good luck in your search.

Yikes, gonna be hot in Fresno in July. Fresno is considered The Central Valley. Northern Ca is anything above Sac or SF. The mountains aren't far away so you can go there to cool off. Yosemite and Kings Canyon are both close to Fresno. I spent a quite a few years in the San Joaquin Valley myself and was born about 20 miles from Fresno in Reedley.

Hi txtumbleweed - thanks so much for all the info, going to go to each of those links and check them out - I think manual would be better for the battery life -Thanks again, appreciate it!! Darlene

I never found any 801 cartomizers I liked either but the bottom hoizontal coil ones like the echo or go-go use work very good and will last you all day or close to it. The new auto batteries work very good and are sealed so they last as long as a manual. If it is a problem filling them you don't like try the new ce-4 Vision clearomizers they are the easiest of all to fill and work very good too. You can easily see when you are out of juice and they don't leak. You can get them for the Kgo or echo but would need an adapter to use them with a go-go. Here is a picture of the ce-4 http://www.discountvapers.com/

Yes it will be but then again it's hot here (foothills) as well, yesterday and Saturday we were 92/94. Tx it seems most on the forum are either southern or the Bay area so Fresno is close to northern to me. :p

I got ya! I was trying to impress everyone with my vast knowledge of California geography!

Hi again, right now I am looking at the KGO Kit - 1100 mAh by SLB (Black Bubberized) - when it goes to ordering extra cartomizers I am lost - you mention clearomizers - can you tell me exactly which clearomizer I would order for the kit I am thinking about getting? Sorry to keep bugging you, but really want to stay on ecigs. I am at the Hoosier Ecig Supply link for my order at this point and have sent them an email to see if there are any coupons out for this kit or supplies right now. thanks so much for all your help. Darlene

Hi Darlene, welcome and keep talking with us. There's so many options out there surely someone here can help you find one that will work for you.

It seems from your post that one of you main problems is filling carto's and/or keeping them filled. If you vape too much of the juice out of a carto you will likely burn the filler. Once burned - always burned - and the burned taste will not go away. Sounds like you know about filling it - syringe, condom, etc. But perhaps your vaping too long on it before refilling or topping it off. It's surprising but you'll still be able to get what looks and 'tastes' like good vape even when the carto is too low on juice and that's where the burning comes in.

It's best to vape on a carto, then frequently take the tip off and drip a few drops in until you see the filler getting moist again. In my opinion and experience with carto's, it's a mistake to fill it and then try to vape it until it's 'gone' and needs a total re-filling.

OK - that's some quick pointers on using a carto.

You said you tried eGo type batts, so I'll assume you have at least one around. I suggest you look at and even try one of the eGo Visions or Stardusts for an eGo style batt. They seem to combine the best of a carto and carto/tank. You don't have to deal with punching holes in carto's or filling tanks. But unlike using just a carto, you can see the juice level and know when to re-fill. My wife uses them exclusively on her eGo and highly recommends them. They last her a long time and she does not go to all the trouble to dis-assemble them and clean them and dry burn them like is talked about around the forum.

Here's a picture of the Stardust, if you haven't seen them yet. And they come in tinted color tanks if it suits your fancy. I think trying them may eliminate the hassle you have had when using carto's and/or tanks.

You can get these at places like GotVapes and Discount Vapors as well as other places. But get it from a reputable supplier. There are some Chinese knockoffs of the Chinese made Stardust that are not as good.

VISION eGo Clearomizer Stardust™ : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

DiscountVapers.com - Search Results for "stardust"

i vaped for my 1st month on a 510 slim batt with atty and carts. I liked it better then cartomizers but was constantly refilling the cart yet alone charging the batts continually all day long. I think you'd be better off learning how to keep cartomizers wet while vaping or trying out the Starburst on an eGO style batt.

ps: Although there's a ProVari in my signature box, you don't need to get into something like this to enjoy and be satisfied with vaping. There are two ProVari's in the house and my wife has yet to put down her beloved eGo to try one of them and she's quite content with her eGo/Stardust combination.
