Tex, I'm in - you should know I would be... Here's my story with a few updates.

55+ here (creeping up real close to 56). Smoked since I was 13 - almost 43 years. Wow I have been saying 35+ years - I just noticed it is a lot more than that... Where were these things 35 years ago or better yet why didn't my mother take me out to the wood shed when she first caught me.

I learned about these things over a year ago - my non smoking / non vaping daughter told me to check them out, but I procrastinated for months, then researched for months, and then thought it out for more months. I started vaping about 6+ months ago thanks to what I learned on ECF and I am not going back. I have goals with these things and I plan on sticking to my plan - hypnosis, cold turkey (three times), gum, patches, etc. - none worked, but...

Oh, almost forgot. Just had my annual physical a week ago and all my tests came back with improved results - I am happy, my wife is happy - shoot life is happy...

Tiny - I pulled this over from the other thread.

Here's what I settled into with a ProVari. I use 2.5ohm atty's at 4.2 volts or 3.5 ohm attys at 4.8 volts. Each of those settings gets me about 7 watts of output. I find most of my juice tastes best around 7 watts, so i just try to dial that in based on the ohms of what's screwed on. Tobacco flavors I like a little warmer so I add .1-.2 volts. Fruit flavors for me don't taste as 'fresh' with a warmer vape.

I don't like Dual Coils or even LR single coils so much on the ProVari. DC's and LR's are really meant for lower rated non-VV voltage batteries. It's a way to raise the output watts if your batt is limited to 3.4-3.7 volts. You're free of that now with the ProVari, just click/click/click/click/click the button and raise the volts.

I just got my new 1.5 L-Rider yesterday and it is good to be able to read the resistance of my cartos. I never got the Provari because i watched a video when they first came out and it seemed like alot of clicking to change the voltage. How about reading the ohms does it require the same amount of clicks? That is one reason besides the price that I chose the L-rider. One click to change the voltage and one click to check ohms and voltage. There is a new one coming out called the Lambo which is just a Version 2 of the L-rider. What I really like about it is the recessed ego connection with flexing batt post so it will work with all ego or 510 cartos regardless of the length of the carto pin. Here is a pic. Lambo VV Mod

... and I think I'll get to hang around a lot longer becauseI started vaping 2 years ago.

Device history:

KR808 starter kit, went to the longer 808's and manual because overfilling is overkill on unsealed batts. Then came the Elegant Easy and Elegant Easy XXL 1300. Arrived at the Go-go but experimentation took me to The Echo, The Echo-e, and The Leo. Went back to The Go-go. Had to try The Elite and found it very similar to The Go-go but in a much nicer package. A fellow Go-go/Elite user raved about the DC/LR cartos for The Leo so I had to give it a try. Best move I ever made.

So on a day to day basis I'm all over the board.

The Boge Leo DC/LR cartos and the Boge Leo Clearomizers are fantastic. The Elite works great and if I want a perfect vape automatically, I put an Elite carto on one of my Echo batts. And if I need the TH of an Elite and I'm going to be gone all day ... a Go-go to 808 adapter solves that problem perfectly. I test juices in my Leo atty before I make a 4ml commitment to the Gigantor Boge cartos and I'm all tobacco - all the time.

Aesthetically I think The Elite and The Leo are the best looking as well as the pest performing e-cigs I've tried. I can't honestly say I've been disappointed in any rig I've used. I easily got off cigarettes with a CigEasy starter kit and I've been having fun ever since.

I've been able to get almost all my smoking friends and family to switch over to Go-go's, Elites, or regular 808's. It doesn't make any difference what they use because they all easily and painlessly got clean away from setting fire to tobacco tubes.

One of these days I've just got to figure out what I'm going to be when I grow up but it looks like I'll be able to retire before I have to make that kind of decision. There are still a few people who bug me about quitting vaping and I've solemnly promised to stop vaping two or three days before my funeral.

I did not get a chance to ask it before because of my painting duties, but I saw a post about someone actually made a stacked 26650 VV mod http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/canada-forum/288973-i-cant-believe-i-bought.html...

Next, thing you know someone will be hooking an atty up to a generator and be vaping away at 24v... LOL

I saw that yesterday. It looks like a pipe bomb to me and might turn into one if it explodes. Can you imagine taking that through security at the airport.lol

Welcome and thanks for dropping in a telling your story. BC is amazing country. My wife and I spent a month there a number of years back.

Really like what you've done for friends and family getting them off burning tobacco and into vaping. Good Job! :toast:

I'm STILL 52 and I would STILL rather hang with youz guyz if you let me. I STILL do not want to sit at the kids' table. I promise not to blow any peas out of my nose. I'll keep my elbows off the table and everything.

(can't promise not to play some air guitar now and then tho)

Nice job reviving the thread, Tx. =)

Hi Sandy,

Glad to see you came over to the 'darkside'. The OP closed it - geez - what a loss of good tales and info in that thread. Anyways - we're trying to keep the 'good' going over here now. I posted a link in the Mature Vapors group, that is still open. Hoping that will help folks find their way here.

Who closed our thread? It's closed!!!???? We need to PM everyone so they find this.
