I've deleted my post on Michelle Obama .. in under and hour, I had several PM's .. critical as well as offensive .. I don't need that kind of infantile BS .. the speech was great, that's it .. I offered no political commentary .. I simply noted the woman made a great speech ..

I hate to be the gritch but if you study the facts, the speech last night was mostly fiction. That speech had one purpose and that was to create a image that is not true.

Just my opinion..if you do some research you will also know the truth..

The same can be said of most political speeches ..

WOW!!! And double wow!!!! I've seen posts by lots of folks that I may not agree with, as to their political views, and I would never even think of attacking them for it!!!!!!! I agree with Deb, we're ALL supposed to be entitled to our individual opinions!!!

I love Willie and don't care what his politics may be or not be.

I posted a speech made by a woman that quite obviously spoke from her heart. I noted that I was moved by the speech. Not the rhetoric or the facts that may or may not be up for checking .. I made an observation ..

I like to believe in the basic humanity we all have inside us, somewhere .. but, I was reminded once again that I must live in a dream world, and maybe I do .. it saddens me .. it makes me wonder what agenda / motivation some have ..

I am a Patriot, I served my Country in harms way, I proudly display the Flag and I still get choked up when I hear a Patriotic Speech that touches me and I love my Country .. so, forgive me for that ..

This next tune was written for Cat Stevens by Carly Simon when they were romantically linked .. regardless of it's use in a catsup commercial, it's a great song .. listen to the lyrics ..

Whoa! Carly and Cat were involved? Where was I when all this happened? Duh. Oh well, I never did pay enough attention to those personal details which is why I'm surprised later. That's really interesting.

Love this song and was not happy when they used it for the catsup commercial although it was an effective marketing tool for them.

It was a grand speech! Although I'd be considered to right of Ginghus Khan, I can appreciate a good speech when I hear one. She did it well with the desired immediate outcome.

I'm old and wise enough to know where I stand and can counter most opposing viewpoints. But, to everyone in this thread, this is not the desired venue to cuss/discuss religion, politics nor da best PV if we want to remain a vaping family.

Maybe a new thread would be best to 'encourage' such 'engagements'.

I'm sorry that ya got 'bagged' but am also supportive of Wendal's public POV.

Regardless, let's not drive this awesome thread over da cliff. Damnit, I'm selfish in that I want to keep all o' ya'll around!

I'm very sorry to hear some reacted in such a negative way. It wasn't a political statement at all but a comment about a beautiful heartfelt speech. It is sad our country is so divided politically now that anyone would react so hostile over a speech from our First Lady which was mostly about her love for her family.
