I decided to try twisted dual micros with 32Ga (.9 final) in my Trident clone after viewing this thread. Holy cow... The flavor is so much better at the same final load than my previous 30Ga untwisted pair, but it is a bit hot for my taste. I may add a wrap per coil. I'll post pics later.

How many wraps did you do? I just did dual micro 26 gauge kanthal 9 wraps nice cool/flavorful vape

7/8, but bear in mind I am running dual coils. This is only my second dripper (I have only had it since Friday, too), and compared to my Nimbus it is exceptionally airy. I have been using a Russian, and it is much cooler... I assume because of the tall chimney.

I did do a 30Ga twisted coil for my Russian for when it runs out of juice.

i see a lot of twisted wire in here...does it really make that big of a difference to do it?

While mine is simple twisted (this was my first twisted build, I might add) I was shocked at the difference. I could care less about clouds, but the fact is my clouds are significantly more dense and my flavor is vastly improved... Shocked at the difference.

I put an L shaped Allen wrench into my drill and loop the kanthal around it, hold the 2 loose ends with some pliers. Keep some tension on there always or it will bunch up quick. Start the drill going slow and then you can pick up the speed a bit when you feel comfortable. Keep it tight and have at it. I've snapped a few wires but you kind of get a feel for it pretty quick. I use 2 feet to make about a foot of twisted. If you would like I'm sure someone (or I ) could post some pictures if you'd like.

I use the ghetto method to twist wire. Hang the wire over a screw driver blade and grab the loose ends with a pair of small vice grips. Let the weight of the vice grips tension the wire and give them a spin. If you go slow the weight of the vice grips will prevent the wire from bunching. This works fine for doing short (2ft.) sections of 30g but longer sections or larger gauge would be easier with the drill.

Hi All. I am looking for a suggestion for a coil build to allow me to run a Kayfun on my new Wizard Evolved II at greater than 20w. With my current build, if I go over 16w or 17w, I get dry hits after a few puffs. I would like to give 20-30 watts a try. Any instructions and pics would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I take a section of wire about 3 feet long and double it over. Manually put about 4 or 5 twists in the open end. Chuck the manual twists into the drill and hook the loop end in a screwdriver and tension it. The loop over the screwdriver makes it perfectly even to start with. Just what I've had a lot of luck with. I know its backwards but I think its easier.

I am very disappointed in the performance of any coil thats not twisted LOL

I feel the same way. Twisted 28g micros were my all time vape, but I built a tiger coil (may recall, posted about ago) and it's pretty much the same, although I feel like the tiger eats up juice quicker

Anything above 1.2ohm twisted I find that it takes too long to heat up. Least when I twist 28 or 30g kanthal

With how many wraps and around what diameter?

Try twisting 10 pieces of 30 gauge wire together then, a single wrap around 1/8th drill bit rofl
