The only one who freaked when I was digging through the female hygiene section in a supermarket was my wife lol.
"what in earth are you doing? You look like a sexual offender"

For those that my have used readyXwick, which do you prefer? Why? I have read most of this thread but can't recall how one cleans the Rayon. How is that done? Thanks.
I don't wash/clean Sally's rayon. But if you want to, just rinse it under water and then place it on a paper towel to dry.

Gently rinsing cellucotton, or soaking in water, without mangling the fibers, reduces the initial break-in taste... Gently keep the fibers in their original form. Drip dry then lay on towel and you'll be good in a few hours.

Admittedly many barely even notice this taste when coming from cotton, because it far less offensive to most people.

It's typically detected as a neutral taste. Slightly nutty. It goes away fairly quickly. If you've overstuffed the coil the off taste or muting will last longer in relation to how much over tight it is.

So before resorting to a rinse, try slightly reducing the density/tightness - if your current wicks are staying real tight after extended use. They need to stay in full contact but not be so tight that it's a solid compressed hard mass in the coil.

So I went to Vegas over the weekend for the nhra drag races(freaking awesome)!! When we got there Friday night, cruzing the strip, I got a dry hit, looked at my tank and realized it was bone dry!! Lol. Had the wife refill and I was immediately back in vaping bliss!! This was on gunked coils that had at least 250 ml through them!!! I re wicked this morning mainly to clean the coils. The wicks could of gone a lot longer!!! Loving the reliability!!

That why I love it.. Call me a lazy vapor!

My vaping is to replace cigarettes, when smoking there is no work, open and light. For new vapors I think all the work of traditional cotton vaping is many times a turn off.

I set up my buddy's fev on an evic vt in tc with stainless, like 3-6 months ago, don't even remember, and he's still using the same wick and coil. Says it's fine... I think it's ready for a rewick, just because, things been though hell. Lol

I noticed that where there was no SMOKING at the races and others were vaping, no one said a thing. I partook in my nic intake the whole time, I didn't blow clouds, held it in. I watched others vaping in no smoking areas and security didn't say or do a thing. I hope this is a good sign for the future of vaping.

Rebuilt the TFV4 this weekend, I am using the TF-RCA deck with a single 3mm twisted 28 gauge SS430 spaced coil. 4 wraps equals about 0.28 ohms, 430F limited to 45 watts on the eVic Mini using 0.00138 TCR setting. Rayon wicked of course, I have decided that like the Subtank Mini RBA v2, pancake style wicking works best for me on the TFV4 full and Mini.

Sadly it seems that lately my EVIC Mini is getting picky with these TFV4 tanks, sometimes it doesnt read them, other times it doesnt want to stay in temp mode. I figure that it is because of the somewhat shallow (almost flush) pin on the tanks along with the eVic Mini 510 being somewhat flush as well. I have been using one of those little magnets we used to use to make a flat top a button top between bottom of the TF-RCA and the pin to extend it a little, works fine.

Take care Rayon Fam, hopefully I'll post some pics next time.

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
update,, when i see people on youtube with Rayon from sally's its a HUGE box. technically i did not buy my box, a friend went and got it for me. (i actually got my very first piece of rayon from the local hair dresser for free).. anyway,, i have this much smaller box of 100% rayon cellulose that i have always believed to be $4,,, turns out it is $14 and i owe my friend another $10.

i am sorry for posting bad info,, it sure wasn't intentional.

Happen to have a product number for the small box? Only small box I've previously seen was actually 100% cotton but in a similar box style as the rayon.

my box says 44060 @ 500ft (its really not a huge box like i see on youtube,, where they look like footstools)

Sitting down, facing forward.
has anyone looked at the medical bandages.. i see all over europe it seems more clearly labeled making it easier on the shopper looking for cellulose

here in the states,, it appears one might be able to use these pads cut to fit and 'delayered' Amazon.com: McKesson Performance Abd Pad Sterile 5"X9" - Box of 20 - Model 42502000: Industrial & Scientific

this one appears more to be european:
Henry Schein Corporate Brand

Two things put me off with the McKesson - 1, made in China and 2, seems to have some kind of "treatment" on the first layer. I think that would leach into the whole pad in terms of using it s a wick.

Normally I'm a lurker, but every once in a while I have to poke my head out of the hole. I looked into medical rayon bandages a while back, and you have to be very careful and read the fine print. Every one I ran across only said rayon in big letters, but in tiny print it said 90% rayon and 10% polyester. Probably not good for the lungs.

Hey everybody, rayon noob here. After a few days of lurking, and after a few days of using rayon, I figured it was about time I posted here. I was brought to this thread by the Sloth's video on rayon, and he was nice enough to gift me a hefty sample of both sally's rayon and some rayon balls to try out (thanks again, man). So far, the sally's is the easiest to work with, for me, the density seems to be a little more consistent than the rayon balls. I'm extremely impressed with this stuff, the flavor is fantastic, and it stays saturated for quite a long time.

Here's my first attempt with wicking rayon on my Stumpy. I haven't had any issues as of yet, but any critiques/advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the fam, brother :)

@JeremyR your Arabic is good my friend...just loaded it up, it is totally different than anything I've ever vaped. I'm digging it.

What's the postage on that many pennies? ;)

Not quite sure yet. The ranger pennies though will infiltrate the postal service and soon find out. Or, I'll have it figured out when I get to buying the ~ $30 - $40 Dripbox. It's usually around $5 - $7 for shipping just via regular post, nothing fancy and here in CONUS, to WV.

I guess everyone is happily using their rayon on this beautiful day. Problem free as usual.

So who's out there Today that's gonna finally decide that they have to try rayon wicking... Everyone's doing it and you dont even know the joy and freedom your missing out on.... Every day that goes by is another day you'll regret not trying it sooner.
:vapor::pop:

I am a recent convert to rayon and I am tickled I started using it. You issued a challenge to folks to give rayon a try.......there is a entire sector of Vapers like me who rebuild small coil heads or rebuildable cartos who still find silica and cotton easier to deal with. This thread is wonderful with all the information but it is intimidating for those of use who vape higher ohms and watts and maybe like me they find rayon difficult to manage in small coils.

It would be nice to see some examples of simple small coil head rebuilds and tips and tricks to using it.

Krisma, I rebuilt Smokeless Image CE cartomizers, basially a regular carto converted to bottom coil mini tank, 1ml capacity, for a long time and switched them, successfully, to rayon wick. Coils wound on an 18 gauge needle, about 2 ohms of 32 gauge kanthal, then wicked them with rayon. Amazing difference in performance an longevity. Then I found higher power and bigger "toys", but I still have a collection of them along with the batteries to use them on.

I am happily vaping on both the Cubis RBA and a nautilus coil and it's a great vape. It's early days so I have no clue about their longevity but I am hopeful and I for one would encourage people to switch.
